Jon Stewart is an African American human on the Justice league cartoon and comics he was an unemployed ex marine when he was chosen by the guardians to replace hot head Guy Garner as a back up green lantern for Hal Jordon his ring was a powerless piece of bling unless he was being trained or if Hal was out of commission. ON the Justice league his story changes and he replaces Kyl Rynar as the green lantern of 2814 and is considered the best of the Lanters. hope this helps

jhon stewart is a GREAT super hero, decent and a full fighter even whithout his ring, but its a good GreenLantern at best he has almost no imagination, he is really used to just do simple blasts, doesn't have the knoledge to fight the most powerfull lanterns, he has the will but not the skill, thats why hal was a great lantern and Kyle is the most powerfull one of them all (an artist whith green lantern ring, because the very own caracteristycs of the ring that is just bad ass)
