  • it's not the doors but they are good

  • it's not the doors

  • this is sad, im quit sure that Jim would NOT have approved this song

  • hey man, the doors were different after jim- that said, and with the idea standing, they still had some great tunes after

  • The Doors are not The Doors without Jim.

  • @Username333221 The Doors were an entity made up of John, Ray, Robby, and Jim. Without one of them The Doors would have never existed.

  • @ZackPomerleau Just like when Ice Cube left NWA the other 4 thryed to keep going but it wasn't as enjoyable without the main writer and singer

  • @DaManzMoney Except no.

  • great song and it was also a great a album but not the doors we all fell in live with but still great

  • I like it! Jim was a gifted lyricist but have to admit he became self loathing near "the end" (and possibly afraid he was losing his creativity). You can only walk down the "dark side" so long before it takes over you, poccesses you, whaterver you'd like to call it. Ever wonder why folk blues music is an offspring of GOSPEL...the music should take you OUT OF YOUR BLUES, not drive you deeper into them. If you want to explore the dark side there's always reprecussions!

  • this album just doesnt do it for me

  • i love it a lot

  • The Doors without Jim Morrison are awful especially the vocals with those yelling women backing vocals behind. The music sounds like a bad Rolling Stones record

  • @TheRunner75 well said. What happened to Krieger's ability to write a song? Why did it die along with Morrison?

  • The Rolling Stones made very similar transition from 60s universal rock to simple blues rock and survived.

  • the song fucking rocks..GET UP and DANCE!

  • These are not The Doors, not without Jim. Song isn't that bad as I expected but still...

  • Jim talked about The Doors going on without him as a good thing.

  • VERY UNDERRATED SONG.

  • "Get Up and Dance" was a very rare Australian chart entry, stalling at #36 on its charts.

  • this is pretty hip, I really dug it!

  • Gotta love this band!!!

  • been a fan for years but untill recently i have have been one of thoses who could not listen to the doors without jim, finally decided to listen to them without him, what a band ,what a band, come on tell all the people that you see........

  • The Doors sem Jim Morrison não é THE DOORS

  • this just screams 70's

  • Finaly i got this album! There's so many great songs on the Full Circle-album!!!

  • There's just something about this song that I love. It's so much fun, & confirms what great musicians the band were without Jim.

  • You're absolutely right, and I couldn't agree with you more! There is nothing wrong with music that's fun and enjoyable. Too many performers think they have to make some sort of profound statement.

Even Duke Ellington, whose talents were beyond compare, didn't try to make every piece he wrote some sort of magnum opus. These guys put their pants on as do the rest of us, so we should rejoice that they, too, could have fun with a tune, and, hence, their audience.

  • I don't think so. After listenting the song, Jim would scream "Get up and dance!". That kind of guy he was.

  • he was. There is a chance Jim sang this song for La Women outtakes. But it's never been leaked just a rumor.

  • this song is awesome

  • so who is singing?

  • Ray Manzarek and a chorus made by women

  • is it without morrison?

  • Yeap, from the final album they did without him. It's obvious why these album weren't succesful , compare this song with Take it as it Comes, Waiting for the Sun and more...

I think they guys should continue, but with another name for the band. It's a shame that they did real jewels as Ships W/ Sails, Verdilac and Wandering Musician.

  • @Mae77 believe it or not I bought this album when It came out in 1972 and enjoyed it!!!! Of course it was not top notch material but it was fun and gave me the illusion that the Doors were alive and well..

  • I believe u. I love this album too.

  • @Mae77 They did continue with another name and vocalist: The Butts Band, with Jess Roden providing more power and technique than Jim or Ray, but a lot less charisma.

  • @Daverotherham , well, not exactly: John and Robby were part of Butts Band, Ray made a band called "Nite City" in that time.
