  • If you leave your brain at the entrance to the cinema, then you will enjoy Avatar.

  • I really liked this film until someone i knew said it was Dances with Wolves with aliens, that killed it a bit for me,. How did i not realise!

  • unfortunately is not 8 minutes is 13 minutes, and im agree with you its very bullshit , why he didn't put those 13 minutes of extra scene before because of that i buy the wrong dvd

  • Man, I might have to watch it.... Why didn't they go with the different ending then?

  • Anyone know if the special edition dvd allows gives you the option to watch it with the original ending if you want to?

  • The extended version has 16 extra minutes, not 8! I read it on the back of the special edition dvd in the store.

  • i'm proud of all of you who hate avatard. thank you.

  • Cameron's latest film "Water World 3-D"

Diver's in search of a 'Story' & 'Plot'

  • I don't want another Avatar. Not unless it is like Empire Strikes Back. I want a quality story with quality characters, not a cheesy cliche flick with cardboard cutouts! And what is deep in it? From somebody 25 minutes on it just goes Mankind is Hitler bullsh**!

  • You would make a damn fine villain in a film Nate.. just sayin'.

  • I think the spectacle of Avatar is obviously not the story, but the effects and atmosphere. You genuinely feel as though you are in that other place, and seeing it at IMAX is phenomenal.

  • Avatar was the best movie I saw in the last two years.

BTW: wally is a movie about fat guys on a spaceship. Avatar is a movie about space marines mining for ore on a foreign planet. I'll let you figure out the rest.

  • GODDAMN IT I HATE AVATARD SO MUCH, AVATARD recieves from me 2 RED HADOKENS!!!

  • AVATAR SUCKS!!!!

  • @xtcarnage15586 you suck, you CAPSLOCK abusing idiot ...

  • WALL-E pwns Avatar. Andrew Stanton pwns James Cameron. Aldous Huxley pwns Karl Marx. That reminds me, Cameron is awfully rich for an environmentalist pinko. Also, Aliens and The Terminator appear to be sympathetic toward the ideals of militarism and nationalism, expressing an ideal which could be defined as "humanitarian nationalism" or "humanationalism" (Kyle Reese and Ellen Ripley being perfect embodiments) with the villains being metaphorical representations of inhuman global government.

  • I just got the blu ray collectors edition and its amazing, 20 minutes of extra footage and its a completley new film, so much better and still the most amazing visual experiance

  • @Theicemonkeyjr I thought it was just 16 minutes of extra footage?

  • I was expecting to see a professionally directed clip about how terrible avatar is. Im glad to say I was pleasently surprized. I like seeing people who open their minds nowadays, do you have any idea of how rare that is? Hats off to you!

  • Sir, you are a professional. I still don't want to see this extended Captain Planet episode.

  • @Twinsnakecoatl Captain Planet crossed with Ferngully. Uberliberal. I kinda like how Colonel Quaritch had an Invader Zim thing going on.

  • I am probably one of the few in this world that has never seen Avatar. So when a "Director's Cut" comes out, of any movie, does it mean that they screwed up on the first release? LOL

  • Avatar total load of bollocks of dtsHDMA on crap ray! fail!

  • Watched your other Avatar video, and I've definitely subscribed.

  • Avatar worst crap film of 2009!

It was crap on bluray! It had crap picture!

It had crap dts HDMA crap crap crap sound!

    It was crap!

Titanic is better than Avatar crap!

  • @EmpireLS56KW Lol you're a fail.

  • If it made you furious then WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SEE IT?!?!?!

By the way, it would've been the studio's idea. James Cameron never really wanted to add more scenes in from the get-go, but he's happy to now because the fans (like me) demanded it.

  • I once knew a guy who went to see the same movie in cinema's five times..yes the guy had too much money, but still there are some movies that deserve to be seen at least twice for the little things you miss the first time. ..or they are too good to only see once... whether or not you drag your friends or family along just for a decent excuse to see it again. This film deserved a second sitting, extras or not.

UN Spacy Want's You! - love the tee Blunt man

  • @RisingDragon1981 Yeah I watched it once on a bus - not at all good quality and I could hardly hear it but I loved it anyway. Then we got an illegal version which was practically black and white and crappy quality as well. And THEN we went to the cinemas to watch it in 3D and I can officially say that I've never loved a movie this much.

  • @msinquisitive20 Illegal versions are always crap, (compared to the real thing) I don't know why people bother. that and the cinema experience is worth it...I also saw it in 3D. for once the cinema wasn't full of kids throwing popcorn.

  • @RisingDragon1981 I saw the Dark Knight about 6 times at the cinema, I agree about twice with Avatar, first time to watch and listen to the script, 2nd time to just watch and pretend the dialog didn't exist

  • @dreamingthelife did you find that the more you watched it the shorter the film felt?

that would be hard ignoring the dialogue, but the second time you tend to notice more than the first time anyway.

  • Fuck you Avatar is awesome your such a fucking dumbass

  • Hehe I Likes

  • ending was epic lolol !!!!!!!

  • ur awesome

  • fuck u

  • Great review! Though I disagree with it being "stupid fun" (I thought it was just old-fashioned-plot entertainment with an extreme upgrade of *wow*), you pretty-much described what I thought...

...Though I do think some of the new clips added kind of took away from some of the emotional feel the film originally had (end scene especially, imo). It IS worth that extra experience, though, as you said.

Lastly, I just want to say how much your face reminds me of Alfred Molina. xD

  • I LOVE AVATAR AND THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OVER THE WOLR !!!

  • well that was very funny, I'm not one to watch reviewings and what not on youtube because it's usually weird... but you did quite well. =D

  • I watched avatar in hd but not in 3G I thought it was boreing other than the fighting parts and I would like to see it in 3d but wearing glasses while watching an 2-3 hour long move gives me a big headache so I can't

  • as if cameron doesn't have a high enough opinion of himself as it is lol.

  • most likely the popcorn!

    thumbs up if you agree

  • @Jaythre There are no thumbs up on Blunty's videos....

  • It's just a sex scene!! Big F#cking whoop! -__-

  • I looved Avatar, even in a 2D television. it was amazing and when you're talking about Pandora's environment, it's just brutaly amazing. I believe the 3D 8 min extra version may be cool to see just because it's on 3D on a massive screen but I don't have the money or the time to see it.

  • your good, I like what you do thank you

  • and to top it off the special edition will only be releasedon bluray and will even include more added scenes

  • I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was awesome...when It came to where I live in December I had to settle with the normal version of AVATAR. so this was nice to finally see it again the way it was meant to be seen

  • lol, is he trying to be renominated for best director again?

  • do they nuke the planet like they should do

  • I agree with you. I first saw avatar (non spec. ed.) on a small TV. I went to see Avatar Spec. ed. on a big screen and it blew me away! the 3D makes the film so much better and the new footage also enhanses thi film as well. however the whole hype of avatar is a bit stupid since it is not the greatest film ever created, but id say top 50%

  • Why would it make u furious. It was only for one week. He doesn't need the money. He didn't do it for the money. Good REVIEW

  • when I went to watch it in 3D there was a woman in line who said she saw it at least 13 times in the theater

  • Meh, I feel like I am one of the only people on the earth that have not seen this movie. I guessed the whole movie before it even came out, then when my friends went to say it, said I saw it, talked about the movie and what was "Good" and what was "Bad" and when the conversation was over I said, "Its a good thing I DIDNT see the movie." I still think the unobtanium is ridiculous. This movie will fade eventually, just not fast enough IMO.

  • Blunty they do say that 3D tv's wont last that long... there out now... but i dont know if i should get one... what do you think should i or shouldn't i? when i first saw that they were re-releasing it i was WTF?? why he has enough money!! DAMN YOU JAMES CAMERON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU BHAVE ENOUGH MONEYS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @undercoverrouge I have a video called "Should You Buy a 3DTV?" guess what I'm going to tell you to do.

  • @Blunty3000

at the price they asking for 3DTV's Ill rather wait a couple of years. its not a standard

  • There are always special versions with extra scenes coming out. The things is, most of the scenes don't really change anything about the story. And 8 minutes? That's it? Maybe an extra 20 minutes of optional footage would be more worth it. Stupid Hollywood people.

  • Thought I'd drop a compliment that this new review layout that you have, with the darkened curtains and a snappy fashion sense, makes watching your reviews easier and more engaging!

  • "Titanic D:" "Terminator 2 :D" exactly!

  • Wait for a SE of Inception...

Shit will hit the fan in the longest and most confusing way possible.

  • Comment removed

  • @coaxx Actually I SPECIFICALLY noted what I thought the extra material added. Try listening retard,

  • @Blunty3000 Try putting a period retard.

  • @Marci124 Meaning crazy or angry? Because right now I'm pretty much just in a bad mood.

  • I'd like to see Inception re-released. There will be a lot of people who don't get the overall effect because they watch it at home, when it deserves to be seen at the cinema.

  • Lol, I'll be smart and wait until it gets out onto bittorrent.

  • Because James Cameron's pool of money has gotten a bit shallow as of late.

  • So...only see it if you can get at an IMAX 3D cinema then.

Doesn't this rule out most of Australia?

(Yes, still kind of bitter Adelaide's IMAX shut down MONTHS before Matrix sequels would kick-start seeing movies in IMAX here. Say what you will, those action scenes on a giant screen? ARGH! DAMN YOU educational yet shitty IMAX MOVIES!)

  • I wouldn't hold my breath for it to come to a cinema near me..... in Denmark Europe..... :(

  • lol 8 more minutes. cos it wasnt long enough already... that said i would go to see it again at the sydney imax screen, that would be sweet.

  • The 4th time I saw Avatar, I'm ashamed to say...

  • @ferrarithefastest Thanks "Ferrari", you've helped secure the future of the special edition AND the trilogy. [/sarcasm]

  • Great now i have to wait to buy the SE of Avatar ><

  • 2:35 blunty's gone soft

  • You were stupid enough to buy the first DVD release... when there was a BETTER version was on the way?

  • liked this and haven't even watched it yet. :D

  • I feel for you mate, I had the exact same feelings before seeing it then a was pleasantly (or rather unpleasantly) surprised.

  • I don't think it's as heavy-handed as you say it is, but it certainly is not an original story; it's been told many times before. I think that's why it gives that feeling of heavy-handedness.

  • I think it might have more impact for me if he had waited a few years before he re released the movie....Special Edition or otherwise

  • Avatar = The Last Samurai = Pocahontas = Fern Gully = Dances With Wolves

They're all rip offs of DWW, so I don't see the point of bashing this movie because of it's familiar storyline.

I thought the movie was great and certainly lived up to the hype.

  • @RickyPrescott Everything is rip. The question is, how well is it riped?

  • @darkof You got a point there, personally I think they did a great job. But the fact that a lot of critisism is merely based on comparisons between Dances With Wolves and hype (the rest is nitpicking), I just can't take that seriously.

I'm not saying the movie is flawless (a little too preachy imo) just saying that a lot of critisism is exaggerated.

  • Wasn't there like a giant smurf sex scene

  • @sk8er1707 Like we haven't heard a ''smurf'' joke for like a 100000000 times....

  • does the extra 8 minutes add like... a plot to the movie?

  • He makes these films to fund all his undersea adventures, that shit aint cheap you know!

  • I loved that little face jiggle at the end.

  • All I could think throughout the video is how fluffy your beard is.

  • well, IMO this movie is made to watch on cinema, and not on TV, so a special edition should wierdly enough be made so that we can see it on cinema

  • Avatar was abysmal. it was much to difficult to trudge through the appalling story, and bear witness to the unlike-able characters. how anybody could enjoy this movie is beyond me.

  • I would live to see Dances With Wolves again on the big screen.

  • Just because it looks beautiful doesn't mean it's a good movie. Story is a big part of movies to me, and that's something Avatar was majorly lacking. Also, the ending was predictable and stupid.... and too many furries like Avatar.

  • lol, i seen it in 2d, then saw it in 3d. fuck i aint seeing it again on this!

  • Never knew it was the biggest in the world.

  • Thanks for the review. You're always awesome.

    -Ninj4g33k from Alabama

  • Does the special edition fill the entire IMAX screen? The original release of Avatar at IMAX Sydney got a print that only filled a small portion in the centre of the screen.

  • this rerelease gives people who didnt get a chance to see the opus in its inital release. And for people who loved it, to experience it once more. Someone unfortunately has to make money bc they can't just make it free.

  • wtf is an avatar ? lol

  • nice. i saw it. It was awesome AGAIN

  • IMAX 3D is nothing like the watered down 3D you get in the cinema.

  • is it that good, I rember the last review you did. are we still being called Retards,or dose this bing the goods???

  • @darkwarrior1383 It's still heavy handed in delivering the "message", but the SE is a better experience.

  • Just look at how many versions of titantic were released.

  • Well now I'm actually proud of myself that I didn't go out and buy the original Avatar DVD when it first came out. I'll just be really pissed if I buy the new special edition and then am greeted 4 months later with a new and improved even more extended edition of Avatar. But I don't think Mr. Cameron is that big of an asshole. Thank God he's not like George Lucas.

  • one Q blunty.. how many different (not seperate) but different copies of Star Wars you got? I mean i dont love avatar or nothin but lets call a duck a duck it aint just JC its the industry. BTW all these vids later and still love your goofy ass.

  • @twistedllama Right now, zero. Guess why.

  • @Blunty3000 why's that, and i do believe "right now" is kinda skirting the question. I would bet my last doughnut you went to see the remake with 14 minutes of footage in theatres when it came out.

  • @Blunty3000 y? lol

  • @Blunty3000 Waiting for super ultimate blue ray version? Got robbed?

  • Honestly You're a great Youtuber mate, And tbh I'm so happy it's been re-released with that extra 8minutes, as I still haven't seen it... If I miss it this time, I may have to shoot myself... Or just buy it on dvd.. Whichever is easiest

  • I might be the only person I know who has seen this movie and wasn't really that impressed. *shrug*

  • @savrasbane Honestly, I hated it. If anything it's just the story of Pocahontas or Last of the Mohicans. Mostly Pocahontas. -_-

  • @Arrowet Honestly, I didn't think it was BAD, but not really very good either.

  • @savrasbane Meh. ^^ I guess, what really gets to me is the hype it got when I didn't think there was anything to hyped about. o.o

  • It makes it better?

    Seriously?

Is it like the final extended cut of Terminator 2 was to the theatrical release?

  • @moviebuff94 Yes. It expands and improves in Avitar in a very similar way to the SE of T2. Motives are clearer, shit makes more sense etc.

  • @Blunty3000 I might have to see it then. Still havent seen it in 3D at all so maybe I'll push for IMAX 3D. Thanks a billion

  • @Blunty3000

Uh oh you spelt Avatar wrong :P

  • was there any extra flying?

  • I never saw a movie in IMAX.

  • I am going to pay to see that, because I haven't seen the first avatar movie. ;)

  • Blunty is sillys *shakes head* paying to go see it in the imax cinema just to buy it on blueray later

  • Ive heard that they cut a shitload of really long and important scenes out of the movie, I dont get why they didnt just throw those scenes back in so they could have said it was more than eight freaking minutes longer.

  • what if you saw it first time at an IMAX 3d cinema

  • guess i'll pirate it :-<

  • and i still do not get the movie.....it makes no scenes and all i get outa of it is that the US government (my government) is a corrupted piece of crap! the whole thing is a grr to me and i don't understand why it is so popular

  • Paying for it is optional, and if there is a demand for it, then of course Jim Cameron should release it again. I don't think being furious is justified. That said, I won't be going again, I saw it twice in theaters originally. But, I'll definitely buy the special edition blu-ray.

  • blunty you're the man.

  • got a little Jim Carey as the grinch there at the end!

  • the movie was horrid and i only saw 15 minutes of it

    but i liked the video

    cheers :D

  • @moony9013 How can you make an opinion of a movie from 15 minutes of it?

  • Avatar had a good message, but it wasn't that good.

  • Aaaaaaand I'm going to have to eat my words too and go see this with my bf like he wanted me to last week. Just to experience the damn Cat-Smurfs-in-Space AGAIN.

    Thank you, Blunty. Thank you.

    *highfive*

  • NEXT UP:

    Avatar "Extra Special Edition"

  • @tjardo16 LOL

  • @tjardo16 Followed shortly by:

Super Avatar Extreme 2.0: The Search for Spock.

(Exactly the same as the previous version, except, for no particular reason, the aliens are now green, instead of blue.)

  • @tjardo16 with an extra two lines thrown in somewhere

  • If Cameron didn't think it was worth putting in the first time around, it's still not worth the second time around. Just my opinion, I still respect people that enjoy those little additions.

  • I already saw it in imax (TWICE) and I'm not going to see it again. I'll probably buy the special edition in bluray 3d or whatever.

  • Might want to reencode this video Blunty. Video and Sound gets out of sync half way through.

  • @mPowerGmbh Problem is on your end. I cannot see any sync problems here.

  • I don't know why everyone thinks Avatar is the best movie ever. Yes the effects were good, I'll give it that much, but the storyline has been done so many times before (Dancing with wolves and Fern Gully to name a few) The story is what makes a movie, not the effects. I tell this to every Avatar junkie (they usually piss me off) but they never listen. Oh well.

  • Well, He's a money-grabbing slefish prick. But on the other hand Blunty's right, it's worth seeing.

  • Everyone seems to love avatar, to be honest It was decent but its not AMAZING EPIX like everyone says it is. I enjoyed sherlock holmes much much better.

  • @Bliced Same here.

  • @Bliced holmes was the shit

  • I still haven't seen it yet. Whereas my brother some how got to see it before it was even released, I think it was something to do with his College. But it's good he saw it before it was released, because the few hundred people going didn't have to pay.

  • Having seen films on an IMAX screen and in regular cinema in 3D, I think that it can only work on the larger IMAX screens. It always looks weird when you can see the edges of the screen, and the 3D effect doesn't add up.

And surely those 8 minutes were something that didn't have to be cut in the first place. I get studio restrictions... but it's just 8 minutes. If Cameron felt that these particular 8 minutes were worth putting back in, why didn't he just release them in the first place?

  • Nice Macross shirt ya got there Blunty!

  • What is IMAX? :/

  • @0rreborre Basically a normal Movie theatre, but the screen is just MASSIVE :D

  • Comment removed

  • Just goes to show how complex art can be... 8 extra well excecuted minutes carefully placed here and there can make all the difference in the world to a movie.

  • I can't watch IMAX, so there's that, but I've always hated the theaters for movies. When I think "this is how it was supposed to be seen", I certainly don't include the audience laughing and crying and wowing, the screaming children, the cell phones, and the comparatively horrible audio quality as enough to make up for a screen that's really really big.

  • @Aitamen Don't know what cinemas you've been going to.

  • Tons. I'm comparing it to viewing it at my home (80" or so viewing surface, personal surround sound system, no distractions).

  • @Aitamen I never have these problems at theaters where I live. The sound is pretty good and there aren't many distractions, but I live in a less densely populated area so that probably matters a lot.

  • @Menimitz I'm comparing it to the home sound system of a pseudo-audiophile, so that's always something. I'm highly sensitive to light and sound, so it's easy for me to be distracted by another light source (cell phone or doors opening).

Since I can't see 3D stuff (gives me migraines and always looks distorted to me, I've been analyzed and don't know why), IMAX is out, so the only real advantage of the theater to me is a bigger screen... certainly not worth it.

Also, yeah, I'm in Denver, CO

  • You never seem to insult products you review now =/ I wanna see more rants and raves about some highly glorified piece of equipment.

  • Watching on my Vibrant will do the job just fine.

  • A lot of people said the story sucked, so I didn't see it in theaters. I damn sure am not going to see the 'special' version either. James Cameron can go to hell.

  • @parrish001 Well, how do you know it's so bad if you haven't seen it yet? And why condemn James Cameron to hell? He made Terminator 2 man!

  • @Darkmasterofevil

I never said it was bad. I just said others talked about how crappy the story was, so I didn't see it in theaters. I'm not spending $25 for a movie that's only about visuals, that's why I have Netflix.

Because he's greedy as all hell.

  • I still would have seen it if it was in my cinema.

  • Biggest Imax Screen in da World?

Looks like you Aussies are compensating for something. >:D

  • @SgtHydra

Coming from the guy who lives in a country full of people that drive pointless SUV's and has the biggest fat percentage in the world.

Looks like you're compensating for something. -_-

  • @parrish001 Interestingly, SUV's are not pointless. As opposed to a whimy little car, SUV's are extremely safe and offer the driver much greater protection. If you want to die horribly in an accident just so you can reduce the release of a trace gas (one which only makes up 0.03% of the atmosphere), be my guest.

Also, I believe that not exercising is extremely un-American. And probably un-Human, as well.

In any case, we need moar PT in our schools. So yeah.

  • @SgtHydra

Yes they are. Safe? SUV's can't avoid collisions quick enough due to the high center of gravity and the average blind spots are bigger than a car's. On top of that, statistics state most cars are actually safer than the average SUV. Bigger does not equal better. Not to mention SUV owners tend to contract "SUV Invincibility Syndrome" resulting in stupidity.

Then there is the horrible fuel economy.

"Not exercising is un-American"? We have the highest fat percentage...... Refute.

  • @parrish001 You're mixing up data. SUVs are safe survivability wise. If you get in an accident, chances are, you live. Smaller cars are death traps because they are built from too light materials. Better to walk away from the crash alive than in a body bag. And I say "unAmerican" as in laziness is not an actual part of the American lifestyle. Urban lifestyle, maybe, but America has always been characterized by a high activity lifestyle. Recent attempts to liberalize America has changed that.
