Hmm! I don't play this Barrée. And the original fingering (as you can see on the faksimile on the fernandosor page) suggests using the fingers 3, 2 and 4.
hmmm, the last measure of the 4th segment before u go back to the first segment, you play A and its octave at the same time, then its D, C sharp, and back to the Bass A (5th string)
The higher A, D and C sharp, are all second fret, thats the barree
on the score on top of the measure theres a (4/3)II, so barree starts on D strings and goes down 3 strings, on second fret, the book says the source is from " introduction a l'etude de la guitarre",my book is the royal conservatory level 3 repetoire
and i think my teacher gave it to me without explaining it on purpose to let me handle the challenge on my own for a bit and return with a question,
The guitar isn't an issue i worked really hard to set it up and adjust tensions and strings and everything to minimize the noise, its easier this way to figure ur mistakes :D
Now that's interesting. I always believed there's no Barrée needed for this piece. I looked up the score at the french fernandosor page, but I can't figure out why a Barrée should be required.
Surely it was :), and actually these concepts are a part of wut am learning other than the pieces. when i slowed down yesterday i noticed that when the index has to barr the second fret for the last 5 notes, the thumb stays right where the index is, i believe thats the problem i need to adjust the center of the hand (thumb) to the center of all the fingers this way they all get room to move around, and another problem is this is my first BARR chord to play
I learned the piece but i still cant get the very last bar change, Its creating a little bit of tension and pressure on my muscles and index finger, any tips?
(1) I assume the fingering is clear. The right tension is something you have to practice -- just like all the other aspects of playing, like expression, clear playing, and so on.
If you find out on your own that you are doing something wrong: Congrats. That's the most important part of learning, and is the key to success for improving your playing. Now you can focus on solving the problem, by isolating it. Don't be shy to learn a short section of a piece on its own.
(2) If you see that you can't get a section right, the first thing you have to do is to practice this section in slow-motion. Don't repeat at the same speed if it didn't work. Don't be afraid to go down to ultra-slow-motion for a simple two-note transition, and control movements and tension of your fingers actively. It has to be an accurate, smooth and efficient motion, but it also has to feel relaxed. You can try to lower your tension until the string begins to buzz, just to get the feel...
(3) for it. If this still is straining for your fingers, you might also want to check the action of your guitar... some cheap guitars have way too high action at the nut.... When you finally got it right (accurate and relaxed) at a low tempo, you can begin repeating it, and slowly increasing the tempo -- but not too quickly. Whenever you fail, go instantly back to the previous tempo, try to never repeat mistakes. ... I'm not sure if this was helpful for you, but I hope so... Regards, Wilfried.
Feel free to download the vids with any downloader and extract the audio if you want ;) However i'm right now working on an ukulele beginner's solo book, and there'll be an accompagnying CD. But there will only be "real" ukulele pieces on the CD, no Guitar or Guitalele.
Cool, thanks! Good luck on the book! I'm be interested in the release date for your beginner package, and where to buy. So many people I meet (with my uke) want to start playing, and sure, there are lots of books out there, but your style is FAB! -Joan
The Book is a LOT of work, so please try to be patient ;) And i don't want to rush it. Basically there are 50 tabs already done, but i'm completely re-working them at the moment. And the recording still has to be done.
However i want to make it available as a free download as well as a very reasonably priced printed version in a few selected internet shops.
Thanks. It's really not much. The difference to the dry recording is rather subtle. I did this because my recording location sounds extremely dry (upholstery and book shelves all around).
Hi Wilfried. Fantastic as usual! Did you use the same reverb you applied playing the "Triumphmarsch"? Probably such a guitalele would help to make me play 6-string instruments again... sounds beautiful.
Hi,
Good Music and Sound!
It is Aquila strings?

Thanks!
No, those are still the factory strings. Probably ordinary nylon strings. But I think they're not too bad, so I left them on the instrument :)

However there's reason for you to envy me. I really enjoy your playing.

thank you - very beautiful. how much is a "little" reverb? one of nice suprises about this small instrument is its good projection of bass notes.

Hello Wilfried, It seems it is not the n°2 but N°5 in opus 60. I will work this one, charming melody.
