  • the whole speech is not online, only like 4 minutes?

  • P.s i know that this clip is about the conversions of the slavs, but just to say :D we romanians were converted to orthodoxy mostly by the bulgarians, and they gaved us the cyrillic alphabet that was used untill 1860

  • i am romanian orthodox and i am proud :D

P.S are there any american orthodox people???americans that don't have any ethnicity in a country where orthodoxy is the major religion.

    ????

  • @Caeraebro There is a group of Protestants that came in through the Antiochian jurisdiction over the years. There was a meeting in Ligonier Pennsylvania to discuss administrative unification of the canonical Orthodox Churches in the United States but the Patriarch in Constantinople was not ready. It will eventually happen, things just move slowly. At the founding of the United States the Orthodox Christians did not have their missionary house in order.

  • LOL I'm half anglo-saxon and half scottish, and orthodox, so I don't know where that leaves me in the ethnicity debate but nice of them to play God Save the Queen anway...

  • BTW, you can hear here the great Russian song: "God, protect the Tsar"

  • @paragvai No it's the national anthem of the UK and also of Leichtenstein..

  • u are wrong to judge that .. peace be with u anyway....

  • you guys are dull

greek orthodox caused the schism because they were too hard headed to follow the TRUE church's teachings(authority of the pope, purgatory, etc.)

  • Brother or sister in Christ (I'm not sure) I respect your devotion to Christ but before you start calling the Orthodox a heresy, you should research your history first.

Catholics claim they have the blessings simply because Peter handed over his authority by dying. In actual fact, Peter would have had to hand his authoriy over twice before... In Jerusalem and in Antioch, traditionally by the laying of hands. But Catholics decided to change the rules. For some reason, dying is the new way.

  • Where do you get your information that the 1st Bishop of Rome would have had to turn over his authority to Jerusalem and Antioch by the laying of hands? Jerusalem and Antioch would have already had their own Bishoprics during St. Peter's time on earth.

  • @RoarFan23 Your right and wrong because Peter did elect bishops in Antioch and in Jerusalem. But his authority was handed passed down in Rome where he was martyred because he knew he was going to die a set a main leader of the church.

  • Nothing. we accept anyone who respects the fact that he enters a place of worship.

  • Nothing!

You'd be took for an arabic Christian I suppose, lol. By the way, most of arabic Christians are Orthodox.

  • Racist?

Probably you think all Christians are white europeans... wrong!

There are Christians arabic, just as you. There are black Christians in Ethiopia, asian in Siberia, in Philipines, etc. Did you know that?

  • if you walked in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church with your arab thobes, we will smile and accept you for who you are because thats what the church teaches.

  • You think all Christians are european?

Many of them are, but because YOU muslim invaded Egypt, Palestina, Syria, Africa were Christians lived... and a few are still living.

¿were are you from? Probably not from Palestina, Syria or Egypt qere there are Christians.

  • Praise God! I am African American strongly seek to conversion to Eastern Orthodox Christianity (Coptic, Greek, Etc) from Protestant faith

  • the greek orthodox church is only right

  • you...sound...like...a...robot

  • I wish you all the best

  • Please Brothers ans Sisters, make more videos like these, i love them.

    God bless.

  • Roman Catholics title themselves Peters Church according to words of Christ about Gates Of Hell... But we (orthodoxians) have mighty evidence of fact that ONLY Orthodox Church has saved the Image Saint, Gathered & Apostolic Church of Early times. Realy and truely resort of Saint Spirit!

  • trustno1 before year 1051 there was no catholics, no protestants - all of cristians were orthodox, so orthodox church is first and right.

  • u r exactly right. i am Coptic Orthodox. The Catholic churches leanency and straying of the Orthodox faith makes me mad

  • If you are coptic, then you aren not properly orthodox. You are monophysite.

  • Not accurate. Coptic Churches have come to a resolution which notes the fact that the chalcedonian schism was a series of misunderstandings - the dogmatical differences from the Orthodox Church are now eclipsed. However (and in this you are right) they are not in full union

  • Thanks for that, an orthodox -a bit rigid- had told me that coptic were heretical, but your right, I just read a bit about that, it was a misundertanding.

May the holy Ghost bring us back in unity all the Christians.

  • No not heritical at all, Coptic Orthodoxy is one of the worlds FIRST noted forms of Christianity beginning in the 1st century with the teachings of our Apostolic Father St. Mark the Evangelist. Just the different tongues. The Coptic Church has held its traditions throughout its 20-21 centuries of existance.

  • interesting

  • Wonder why there is discrimination against Turks in job markets of Europe? It isn't Islam, most Europeans don't care about religion but primitive posts reinforce the idea that Turkey doesn't belong in the EU. Bet orthodox would actually give you a chance even though they disagree with you. Europeans as functionally atheistic won't-they don't like you and don't have religion that tells them to care. Funny how the world works! Like pissing into the wind, most people learn that it's a bad idea.

  • I am so happy there are Orthodox vids out there!!

  • Thanks.

BTW, that hymn that is sung at the start is identical in tune to "God Save the Queen"!?!

  • Also the same as the American "My Country 'Tis of Thee"

  • Well not all Slavs are orthodox, me being Polish am Roman Catholic, but god bless them all^^

  • That is true, but there is more to the story. There are Orthodox Christians in Poland.

  • Yeah, but it's a very small minority, Poland is like 92% Roman Catholic!

  • thanks
