I've been having a "Don't Give Up" kind of week. I came to get this & post it to my Facebook. This was the song they always played on sad shows before "Everybody Hurts" came along. It has been my "don't be a selfish bastard & kill yourself cuz there's so much more ahead" song since it came out way back in the day. I'm 43 now so I guess it's worked huh?? Didn't think I'd live past 18, then 21, then 30... Life: it just keeps coming at ya! Thank goodness. The alternative is a BAD BAD option!

I somehow have always found the strength to get up every morning, and find something positive to focus on when some would probably find nothing. @ALSsurvivor Keep the faith and hang in there. I cannot understand what you are feeling. I have a pinch nerve in my neck which never stop hurting . So i listen to lots of music whenever I feel pain. I don't listen to sad music it only let me feel weak and negative. Be positive at all time. Yes I know its easy said but do your best. :)

Great song, I listen to it everytime I want to give up. I feel the pain that all you guys are going thru. My story is like Money, lost my business, home, wife and kids. Spent 3 years feeling sorry for myself and just starting to fight to get back up. . The bottom line its easy to give up.

I somehow have always found the strength to get up every morning, and find something positive to focus on when some would probably find nothing. this song was, and is a part of my life. There have been times I wanted to give up, jump off the bridge, saw my hometown differently than I remembered. Doubted love that people have for me.I need to know that I CANT GIVE UP ON LOVE! But sometimes, parts of me need it at certian times, when I feel death is the best solution to make their lives easier. I have lost normal use of one hand, and had a brain operation that changes me. I am in pain. I am afraid. I have A.L.S. and it is finally hitting my arms. I can't feed myself anymore. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and my upper arms are getting weaker and weaker .It's been over 18 years since I was diagnosed with this progressive neuromuscular disease (known in the U.S. as Lou Gehrig's Disease) with an average life expectancy of 3 to 5 years. It can leave your brain locked in a body it can not move. I can't give up, but I don't know how to go on. I need 1 real friend.

@ALSsurvivor Keep the faith and hang in there. I cannot understand what you are feeling. I have a pinch nerve in my neck which never stop hurting . So i listen to lots of music whenever I feel pain. I don't listen to sad music it only let me feel weak and negative. Be positive at all time. Yes I know its easy said but do your best. :)

Great song, I listen to it everytime I want to give up. I feel the pain that all you guys are going thru. My story is like Money, lost my business, home, wife and kids. Spent 3 years feeling sorry for myself and just starting to fight to get back up. . The bottom line its easy to give up.

I return to work on the 17th ..... it's been a long ... worrisome few months ... it was a mixed blessing ... I mean that ....... I found out I could get a lot of things done that didn't cost money (home repairs) and that I have missed a "normal family life" for the past 20 years (I travel 19 days a month out of town) ......... and while we need the money ...... she's sad / mad that I"m going back .... to be gone ... Well baby ... just a few more years and I'll be home forever .. don't give up

While this is a beautiful song in any form, I prefer the other version of this video. While this tries to show the struggles of the working man, I always the other one that showed Peter Gabriel in the enviable position of having to share a loving embrace with a young Kate Bush. Dirty job, but somebody's got to do it. : )
