@zankou1991 Part of the confusion there is because the Christians *did* have a habit of trying to claim everyone else's Gods and even Goddesses were actually *their* Devil, (as many Fundamentalists still do), so they'd heap a lot of names and attributes and titles from Pagan Gods, often very different ones from all over, into their idea of that character: the result being some patchwork monster that no Pagan would even *recognize,* never mind have worshipped.

info was from a book called "religion and occultism" sorry I do not know the author as it was a book I read on holiday I would say it was from the 1970's though. The 70's was a great time for new authors on religios matters I reccomend you delve through old books stores or car boots etc you will find lots of books on witchcraft/occultism/herbs/gen­eral religion hope this helps a little !!

Thats a good question. You see the devil is really a christian thing, the devil really came from the horned god, but the horned god had antlers not bull horns, christians made those antlers to look like bull horns in order to convert pagens in the old days.

It appears female-oriented because in the time of the Old Religion, man did not understand the connection between sex & child birth. Women were seen as these "magical" beings that could create new life. Thus deities focusing on life were female. Later on, man discovered that it took a male AND a female to create life, and that's how we got the Father God -- the Horned One.

The Lord & Lady are equals, it's just that the Earth is viewed as a female (seed goes in, new life out).
