Hey MOT, I know your feelings toward the economy, but do you feel that consumer sentiment and in turn cosumer spending this holiday season may be effected fairly significantly by the negative headlines and everyone on TV? Hello everyone. I heard from a reliable source that the next 2 weeks will tell the tale. Shares in London suffered another torrid day as leading companies announced more than 2,000 job cuts and figures showed that the country's manufacturing output and orders had fallen to a record low.
Still, the Fed chief said lessons learned from the Depression may still apply today, including the "excessively tight monetary policy" that led to higher interest rates and deflation of about 10 percent a year over the first three years of the 1930s.
"We have learned from that experience that monetary policy has got to be proactive and supportive of the economy in a situation of difficult financial conditions," he said.
Bernanke said the situation at that time represented "very difficult circumstances," because "we didn't have the social safety net that we have today. So let's put that out of our minds; there's no -- there's comparison in terms of severity."
He added, "We're very lucky to live in a country as rich and diversified as the one we have. And I hope that we will have a quick and rapid recovery from the current slowdown."
Bernanke cited "an order-of-magnitude difference" in the current situation compared to the 1930s.
"During the 1930s, there was a worldwide depression that lasted for about 12 years and was only ended by a world war," he said.
"During that time, the unemployment rate went to 25 percent, at least, based on the data that we have. The real GDP (gross domestic product) fell by one-third. About a third of all of the banks failed. The stock market fell 90 percent."
TODAY'S NEWS: "Bernanke says crisis 'no comparison' to Great Depression"
Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke said Monday the current economic situation bears "no comparison" to the much deeper crisis of the 1930s Great Depression.
"Well, you hear a lot of loose talk, but let me just say, as a scholar of the Great Depression -- and I've written books about the Depression and been very interested in this since I was in graduate school, there's no comparison," Bernanke said.

Keep your eye on Bank of America, they are an annointed global player too. In October, BoA received $15 billion under the Troubled Asset Recovery Program. Three weeks later they bought China Construction Bank for seven billion! That's right, you and I injected this instiution with cash for a "bail-out" and they propmtly invested half the proceeds in China instead of providing liquidity to the American economy. Talk about throwing it in our faces!
With a life savings of 60K down to 30K in 3 months via my IRA... shoud I take the money out now or wait for small rebound?

What are your thoughts on the AMERO?
Anyone who doesn't know about you is missing out on the most profound economic speaker in history. How come you arent a regular on TV? It's amazing how many things are sugarcoated for the masses.
At some point you will not get it out of the bank. CNN, CNBC and especially FOX would not tolerate me for one minuted. They are built on very clever lies. Most succumb. I am glad you and I dont. MOT
MOT, i live in Atlanta and the CDC is here, as well as the FBI headquarted. I had to sit down with the FBI because i recieved a shocking death from the Chinese Communist Party for exposing the forced organ harvesting of the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners in China, as well as talking to a high ranking official of the CDC. We talked about the CDC is steadily doing "exercises" to prepare for Quarantine of schools, businesses, malls, for the coming Bird Flu virus that has spread in SE Asia.
CitiGroup still has an army of thieves yanking money for investment from the regular guy out there, dressed up like financial planners telling people how to manage their money, staging the opportunity to inflate the coffers of this Arab scumbag who now has a ring glowing above his head! I can't believe what I am hearing! There is civil unrest in many people's minds now. Capitulation of the system is days away now. The bottom is falling out faster than imagined. No load of money will fix this.
Why do we have to have a society where money has to be borrowed into existance. Why not live in a free cash society, where we do not lend money, it should be used to facilitate the means of exchanging goods and services.
Because the world has only known people who are interested in power grabs. The masses will always be expendable. There has never been true value/importance for an individual's life. It is just a concept out of a textbook. Credit has always been a weapon of domination. You owe, you are blackmailed, you lose your freedom. Terms are dictated for you to follow. It is a system of money creation and perpetually guaranteed wealth. What better way to describe a loan shark?
MOT, great vid bro, suggestion: Use a simple lamp in front your face, it might look bright enough or ok on your computer but on all the ones I've been on, you're dark and kinda mcveighish if you catch my drift. Bring the light man of truth!
I think Mot should always light a candle to remember the dying sick economy - but also as a sign of optimism that something better will be born out of all this mess and misery.
MOT, thanks for your postings. If I may offer a tiny suggestion... your room is a bright environment behind you... put some frontlighting on yourself. Can't make out your eyes or facial expressions now, and miss that.
MOT, if you are moving and not hunkering down what good is stock piling food, and supplies? You can't transport a very big stockpile from location to location very easily. Martial law may require people to be on the move thus making stockpiling mass amounts of food and supplies a waste of time.
Bro,keep the raw going, you need to be a nimble, quick, smart, strong beastly and ready for the plan that god has put before us,raw is best for our journey.Eat spinach for protien, its a 500% better match for the body, raw fish has way to much fat and crap in it,more greens and fasting H20.People Buy sprouts and learn the start eating them they will make yousmart happy and healthy,Hippocrates in Florida has classes,or get a book by steve mirowitz,or ann Wigmore.Buy a survivalbook and buy what it says
Good points but you leave out the fact that aside from the Saudi Prince, several major brokerage houses and insurance companies that run the pensions for our teachers and autoworkers are also major investors in Citi. We did not only bail out the Prince, we also bailed out several pension funds as well.

It's the Mercantilist Keynesian model; which sucks.
Its horrid that people think that what the United States practices is Capitalism. Because it doesn't even begin to approach capitalism.
In a capitalist society, there's no such thing as lobbyists, bailouts, and monetary interchange between government and private business. It's pure mercantilism, which Adam Smith couldn't stand.
MOT, it is interesting you say Walmart will be around post collapse. I build Walmart stores in Canada. In the last 3 weeks they have removed all of the TLE (Tire Lube) areas and changed them to 8-10 doctors offices.
All of the larger cities are covered, we are now building in tiny little towns. The big towns get combo food/retail from 80,000sf to 110,000sf.
Maybe it is just a tie-in with their $4 prescription drug service. But, again I am suspicious of everything.
What if a man gain the whole world and lose his own soul. That tells me Im worth more than 7 trillion dollars or a Saudi prince regardless if I'm poor, homeless, starving or even dying. Lets live for today and not let circumstances dictate who we are or what we are. We are children of God, heirs to the throne, overcomers and more than conquerers when we embrace or positions in Christ and not this secular world.
Remember that institutions "educate" us for one-already-implemented system. As MOT mentions, the point is to see the big picture, or think outside the box. Cheers
From the looks of things, it would be a good idea to start stockpiling food and other supplies asap. The best you can hope for is that you wont need it for at least 2 years. The worst that can happen is that we have another "terror attack" this week, giving Bush a reason to implement martial law. I don't think it's gonna go down like that, but it could get bad quick. Keep an eye on things, and educate yourself and your friends and family as best you can.
ok ...now what....do i stock up on seeds and sleeping bags...i live in california....were should i hide? ...should i buy a gun? should i take all my money out of the bank?
buy guns, pay off all debts, spend all your money on something useful like foods, water, seeds, gold, silver, fuel, etc. (don't buy new TV, etc.) be prepare for hyperinflation. leave about 10% of your money in the bank and in hand just in case u need it. u only loose 10% of your money. don't leave your gold and silver in the bank deposit.
easy mate... star stocking up some food is a GREAT idea (canned food). Survival items, i.e. sleeping bags, candles, etc. is great too. Diversify your assets...
Mate, relocating is never an easy process, I'm not being negative but realistic. You move, then what? Who do you know there? Do you speak the language? Will the community support you? And the list goes on and on... Sometimes it's better to stay in one's country and face the reality instead of running away from it... Cheers!
When you say the taxpayer is bailing out "that guy", are you also thinking about the people who work for Citi? If that company fails, all those people who work for Citi would loose their jobs. think about that as well.
Why is it OUR job to keep them employed??? Who is the government to decide to keep citi open at our expense??? Let them fail(!!!!!!), there's no government agency there to keep our business open if we run the thing into the ground.
News FLASH: Mumbai. India was hit by terrorists, different business areas, they believe it was a coordinated attack and focused on Financial Districts;
I found on Front Page of WSJ now 11-27-2008 USA 11.30pm ET. (Wall Street Journal online)
MORE: Gunfire was reported at luxury hotels, a restaurant, police headquarters and a train station. (Est. 120 killed 300 injured.)
I am so suspicious of any "attacks" now. With our global news machine, we have every world story reported daily. If you took the event in Mumbai and repeated it 10 times randomly around the world, citizens would ask the national guard to be deployed for "protection".
We are so easily manipulated nowadays. The whole media machine know exactly how to whip the masses into a frenzy or have any reaction they like (fits the story).
Not saying India was staged, just have my eyes open.
Mumbai Terrorist Attacks: 100 Gunman-Terrorists in this attack, used Guns & Grenades, Killed high police officials and stole their Police SUV at one point, crazy day.
I've reached the point where I've stopped complaining about the government's actions and started stocking up for the coming battle. The writing is on the wall. Now I sit and wait.
IYO, how will this work in terms of the NWO? My thoughts are that it may be an intermediary step like the Amero may be an imtermediary currency before global currency.
So, if there will be tent cities, what will happen to all of the foreclosed homes? Do they sit empty if nobody can afford them? I just can't imagine what it will be like. Will all if the businesses that go under just sit empty? Also, can tent cities even exsist in freezing climates?
"what will happen to all of the foreclosed homes?"
I dont know if you noticed but all the upper classes from the western world are rushing to the US in order to buy the foreclosed homes. Dont expect to see too many foreclosed homes which wont find an owner: they might be left empty though.
No, I dont know. I doubt that there are open quantifiying data on this phenomenum yet.
I dont think this kind of predatory behaviour can be talked about so fast.
But you should be able to find articles reporting the phenomenum without quantifying it or check if your local real estates agencies are listing their prices directly in Euros (many are reported to do so) and see with them if they can provide you with data on the number of the foreclosed homes they sold to Europeans.
I am tired of all of this....I want to form a local group of like minded men...to help form thoughts and plans on what to do if a crisis comes our way....would this be a good idea?
like a new modern day knights of columbis or free masons....
Why do they keep giving money to AIG? They just freely give out bailout money to them but ask the big three to come back with a plan on what they will do with the money....
Citi is the "Bank" that was one of the entities (though it wasn't named 'Citi' to my recalection) that was once of the forces that instigated the creation of the evil Federal Reserve.
The powers that be in the US etc will no-doubt try everything they can to prop up the credit super bubble. Sovereign wealth funds was probably to be expected, but the degree of unconsitutional destruction of US citizens via currency debasement just leaves me astounded. One thing is for sure - IF they manage to get the system running again the collapse which will undoubtedly follow will be magnitudes worse than this one.
at some point in the future we'll look back at these videos and wonder why nobody understood what was going on... and why almost nobody prepared as long as they all could...
Good stuff, MOT. We're seeing big rallies in the DOW already and we will see more right before Christmas. These are fake rallies. Remember that during the Great Depression, after the orginal crash of 1929, the DOW had a cascading crash that went well beyond 1929. This is going to be the same thing. It will take a little longer to hit 3000, but we WILL be there within 12-24 months.
The DOW is 30 companies that can be easily manipulated. A quick check of things is DOW and Gold. Both are manipulated completely by the plunge protection team. The economy is now a 10,000lb elephant on 12' stilts.
The DOW is bought whenever it gets shakey and gold is attacked by massive future shorts whenever it is above $749/oz.
The best part is the PPT is mostly executed by Golden Sacks and JPMogan. They use gov money to fix the market but also profit on their own - beyond sick.
Thanks for the videos MOT! Guys for specifics on the banking system as described by Modern Money Mechanics(published by Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago), check out my videos.
By the way, yes, the financial system has been propped up artificially. Otherwise, we would have already collapsed. This is simply to prop up the financial system long enough to get the timing right.
i was pretty upset about the bartiromo/sand prince interview. what i find interesting is that on Friday, citi was on the ropes. There was a Geithner announcement, crude stops plummeting, and over the weekend this bailout happens. Im wondering if there is a correlation with citi, crude, and the prince. Ive learned to question EVERYTHING in this market.
My best guess is that we have 6 months left, and perhaps 1 year at the very most, before the financial system totally collapses. This is because the Middle East must first collapse while oil is held steady at $50/barrel. After the Middle East collapses, then we the USA will collapse.

A simple yet obvious equation. But as you say people are conditioned to think of is as a completely normal way to obtain goods.

Why do we have to have a society where money has to be borrowed into existance. Why not live in a free cash society, where we do not lend money, it should be used to facilitate the means of exchanging goods and services.
PlatinumGordon 3 years ago
Because the world has only known people who are interested in power grabs. The masses will always be expendable. There has never been true value/importance for an individual's life. It is just a concept out of a textbook. Credit has always been a weapon of domination. You owe, you are blackmailed, you lose your freedom. Terms are dictated for you to follow. It is a system of money creation and perpetually guaranteed wealth. What better way to describe a loan shark?

News FLASH: Mumbai. India was hit by terrorists, different business areas, they believe it was a coordinated attack and focused on Financial Districts;
I found on Front Page of WSJ now 11-27-2008 USA 11.30pm ET. (Wall Street Journal online)
MORE: Gunfire was reported at luxury hotels, a restaurant, police headquarters and a train station. (Est. 120 killed 300 injured.)
brainyyyz 3 years ago
I am so suspicious of any "attacks" now. With our global news machine, we have every world story reported daily. If you took the event in Mumbai and repeated it 10 times randomly around the world, citizens would ask the national guard to be deployed for "protection".
We are so easily manipulated nowadays. The whole media machine know exactly how to whip the masses into a frenzy or have any reaction they like (fits the story).
Not saying India was staged, just have my eyes open.

Wivanunu 3 years ago
"what will happen to all of the foreclosed homes?"
I dont know if you noticed but all the upper classes from the western world are rushing to the US in order to buy the foreclosed homes. Dont expect to see too many foreclosed homes which wont find an owner: they might be left empty though.

TheCZMan, do you have any data on this? Where can I look up this type of data?
Nosiluminadimenso 3 years ago
No, I dont know. I doubt that there are open quantifiying data on this phenomenum yet.
I dont think this kind of predatory behaviour can be talked about so fast.
But you should be able to find articles reporting the phenomenum without quantifying it or check if your local real estates agencies are listing their prices directly in Euros (many are reported to do so) and see with them if they can provide you with data on the number of the foreclosed homes they sold to Europeans.

Sovereign wealth funds was probably to be expected, but the degree of unconsitutional destruction of US citizens via currency debasement just leaves me astounded.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
The DOW is 30 companies that can be easily manipulated. A quick check of things is DOW and Gold. Both are manipulated completely by the plunge protection team. The economy is now a 10,000lb elephant on 12' stilts.
The DOW is bought whenever it gets shakey and gold is attacked by massive future shorts whenever it is above $749/oz.
The best part is the PPT is mostly executed by Golden Sacks and JPMogan. They use gov money to fix the market but also profit on their own - beyond sick.
