@uhudmen i bought xplane recently because i have a mac but the scenery seems to suck!!! there are trees on the runways!!!! how can i delete them? and there are no terminals in airports. the scenery(sea, colour, trees, building, suck 100 %....i have a mac book pro bough in 2010...i dony thin its the computer fault. what do u think?? i had a pc before(a couple of years ago) and FSX looked so much better
@uhudmen Lol. No worries. X-plane ftw. One thing, tho. The fact that planes fall away in X-Plane doesn't really make it more real. In fact, depending on weather conditions, it can be the opposite. Given perfect weather conditions and proper trim settings, planes can pretty much fly themselves.
X-Plane 9: (n.) A game where you fly unrealistic airplanes in an environment where deer constantly run across the runway, it is nearly impossible to complete a flight without hitting a bird, and the FAA stupidly dubbed the game as a simulator with a "realistic physics engine."
Example:
"X-Plane 9 is such a bad simulator. MSFS is better"
these huge, realistic seats, screens, fake controls, and steering wheel just screams "I am obsessed". no one should have a full set up just to play a game
There are these things in existence called "hobbies." Flying is a hobby, regardless of whether or not you do so in a simulator. People should have the right to do what they want without being labeled "obsessed."
X-Plane 9 can be FAA certified for gaining real flying hours. This homebuilt simulator may also be FAA certified along with his copy of X-Plane 9 meaning this simulator may not be as fake as you suggest and may actually be useful for someone to gain a pilot's license with.
hi does anyone no where i can find a CESSNA CARAVAN 208B for xplane 9 the plane skydivers use with doors opening and everything its for my birthday and i would really like one it would be so special
Speaking of realistic physics- I've seen a video on youtube that some guy was banking a 747 for almost 60 degrees right after takeoff and other video about turbulence that were moving an airliner left and right violently and nothing happened. Yes, it has sloped runways, birds, glass cracking,... but all of that can be achieved in FS2004 with a few addons, not to mention the graphics. And a lot depends on if you follow checklists and procedures, that brings realsim.
OK TO ALLL!!! OF YOU WHO OBVIOUSLY DONT READ THE GAMES YOU RE PLAYING.. you mostly ALL have a low end version of the game, The version made of X-plane 9, is fully certified by the FAA, and if you go to alot of airports you will find this game runnng on PC's out back for pilots to get used to and keep upto date with tech.. Im not talking about the $100 copy of x-plane.. the FAA certified Copy of X-plane is over /US$3500 and has an optional $4000, Flight system...
Lol no wrong Xplane Graphics are good enough for a Realistic Simulator That hase been Certified by the FAA and is used even today to train pilots and spaces shuttle commanders for landing. and re-entry. it has one of the most advanced physics engine for a flight sim.. Flight sim X is purely a game in comparrison.. x-plane 9 is a simulation of real world physics
@dabois85 believe me, I am training for my PPL and from my experience flying cessna 152's,172's,182's and cirrus sr22 g3, x-plane is not realistic! it over-exaggerates physics way too much! it may seem realistic because of that but in single engine planes on x-plane it is simply put, a laughable experience.
@Flightkid9 X-Plane have the FAA certified version (expensive), never used it, but I would think it would have to be pretty accurate to get FAA certification.
not my flight models they are right on. it garbage in garbage out. its not X-Plane that is the problem it who made the model and is it good. X-Plane can be dead on if you know what yo are doing.
@Flightkid9 yep that 172 is messed up. the certified flight models are better. a real engineer has to make them and and it has to pass standards. for the consumer level ones they just have to look cool. there was a good 172 years ago but it got replaced buy one the looks cooler and flys like crap.
@dabois85 Lol im sure that X plane is not used for Airline pilot or spaceshuttle training, they have their own REALISTIC simulators. If physic engine is so real why its still possible to do all kinds of aerobatic with a 747?
Normal X plane is not FAA certified, only higher price version.
your just a 15 year old brat what do you know about what NASA does. if the camera angle was wider you would have see 2 NASA simulators next to the E500. shut up ok.
@dabois85 buying more advanced products such as PMDG with certifications from boeing, will make FSX a very realistic simulation, not a game. i havent seen any videos or proof of actual astronauts using x-plane to practice shuttle landings. dont get me wrong, i agree x-plane has superior physics, but it doesnt have the friendly and enjoyable feel fsx does, now if x-plane adapted features from FSX such as the int/exterior airplane models and enviormental graphics, then it wud be nice.
@captainsmartass123 you'd be amazed as to how good X-Plane can look tho, but I do agree it's more for realism than gaming. I'll still play X-Plane, even if it only were that FSX just doesn't play nice with my setup >_<
@dabois85 The engine that FSX uses is more game orientated. You program the "physics" of the aircraft into the aircraft. That means you could have a Boeing 747 takeoff vertically like a chopper if you simply write the script into the Aircraft. While X-Plane uses the actual 3D model of the aircraft to determine it's aerodynamic properties. Using that information and the specification of the engine it takes the design of the aircraft into consideration and provides the best results based on it.
FSX Is the best real world flight ever then x plane I try x plane it not that real to me I Know fsx keep getting lot of bug in the game but it work very good for me right now.
How the fuck can you call X-Plane realistic you moron!? The rotors are´nt even fucking rotating! FUCKING SHIT IS WHAT IT IS. GET FSX IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEND SOME TIME FLYING SOMETHING WITH REALLY GOOD QUALITY. AND IF YOU HAVE A BAD COMPUTER THEN FUCKING INVEST IN A NEW ONE. IF YOU REALLY LIKE TO FLY THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN SOMETHING ELSE.
@FsxCaptain so, you fly helicopters looking at the rotors? lol try the instruments panel, or out the windows sometimes, though! but, enjoy the blue skies and nice n realistic trees... have lots of fun with the FisherPrice looking instruments!
@TERRANCIO Unless you knew the jet blades inside an jet engine is called rotors aswell. And I am quite aware of what is good and what is bad. X-Plane is a laggy fucking buggy shit program. Fsx isnt good at all times either BUT much better than X-Plane
yep there was a lag it was 100° in that hanger and we had a hard time keeping things cool. when processors get too hot the slow down to avoid burning up.
Would be your Machine, I'm a F 15 pilot, and I used X-plane (a much simpler version than the ones you usually see) and I bought the FAA certified version and I used that to train after consolting with my CO. FSX is more of a game than a sim!
The plane models arent the realistic parts of it, the realistic part is the dynamics,press "o" or what ever your defined key is and it will actually show the forces Upon it.
@MrSquelcher OH MY GOD YOU SIMULATOR PILOTS MAKE ME SICK JUST GO JOIN A FLIGHT SCHOOL AND LEARN TO FLY FOR REAL JEEZ LOUIS. ITS SOOOO MUCH BETTER THE ONLY THING REAL ABOUT FLIGHT SIMULATOR IS THE INSTRUMENT PANELS AND THATS IT!!!
@pacora24 um buddy, had u read my other posts, I'm a F15 pilot and I'm training for the US Navy, Flyings my life os If I can't fly when ever I like my sims do me fine.
your title doesnt change until you complete the training, so im flying goshhawks now but my official title stays a F15 pilot, and yes i shouldve mentioned that coz ure right how the F15 is a AF fighter not navy,but know this it is carrier capable oher than they dont manufacture them with strong landing gear so theyd break on flare but it was designed as carrier cappable with a assist bar, see if u can find some pics of the prototypes with launch bars
MS lost so many sales because they refused to listen to customers who were sick of a bloated pc crippling sim that was unflyable unless you turned everything off. Or dumped $6k down for a new machine and even those had problems.

..FSX is not a simulator.. its a game.. although it says "flight simulator X" its still a game.. watch videos of cessna154 some of the videos show the unrealistic FSX is.. but Xplane "laminar research" spend 17 yrs of study for that simulator.. and Xplane's software is being used in nasa.. i don't know why but the use it.. try googleing it.. and yea.. FSX-15gb X-plane-68GB.. :)).. but i'm still on FS2004.. i'm just saying the truth about X-plane being a realistic "simulator"..
I dont know whats going on here but i'm sure that a real pilot would not be any where as near as ignorant and shitty as you are, correct me if i'm wrong but with manners like that i would be surprised they even let you fly the single props
Depends upon what you're looking for in a computer sim. FSX is by far a more user-friendly interface and includes "missions" for entertainment. X-Plane focused upon realism of flight dynamics and customization instead. Out of the box, the basic install of XP uses less space than FSX, unless you load ALL scenery (50GB worth). FSX can get the same quality scenery, but you pay extra for the scernery packages. FSX is also a huge resource hog, although XP avoids this by a max 25-mile view.
the xplane copy youve got doesnt though the models are just not good enough to simulate it right pay 1000 and it probably will but for us fsx is much more real in every way
..fsx is better in every way Except.. on being a simulator.. xplane has the FAA license on being a "flight simulator" and fsx didn't get a license.. Fsx is just for entertainment.. x plane is for real pilot.. XD
no its not! thats a lie Boeing uses X-Plane not MSFS. Boeing uses X-Plane for both flight training and design and testing. ESP is gone its all X-Plane now. as a mater of fact they even did a plug in for there Frasca hardware to run X-Plane for the F-15 sim.
@vonriktoven not completly, they use both actually, but FSX is certified by Boeing, and after owning both x-plane and fsx i find fsx more realistic when using good payware and occasionally freeware add-ons, i fly gliders curently and fsx seems more realistic when flying gliders, i have very little time in a cessna 172 and that too seems more realistic in fsx when using good add-ons.
prove the the FAA does... and i almost bought the X-Plane game..i did some hw and actually...FSX has better ratings in "flight dynamics"..it is a myth that X-Plane is better...read up you guys...i almost believed the X-Plane people..but thank god i did not waist my hard earned cash on that game...
you say FSX has better "Flight Dynamics"....if your saying that then you should not play a flight simulator...you will never learn from FSX...it has the worst flight dynamics...for example, a fully loaded 747 taking off at 110 knots climbing 4000 feet per min...is that realistic or what?
It seems like you never have flown with fsx at all. You cant take off a 747 before 150knots with MTW, Minimum Takeoff Weight so would you please stop the bullshit!
@JustAnOrdinarySimmer , have you ever heard of PMDG? or Wilco? First of all X-Plane has better dynamics then FSX when it comes to standard planes. Now FSX has PMDG, Airsimmer, Wilco, Rdy for P/u, Level-D, Just Flight, Aerosoft thousands of addons ADDONS.
Have you ever heard of addons you big stupid noob? Those addons have the BEST flight dynamics for MSFS9 and MSFSX! X-plane SUCKS!!!
yep it was funny some of the systems for this sim did not work because we didnt know how the real ones worked yet. so we went over to Eclipse and saw yellow INOP stickers over those systems ... there was no info cause Eclipse hadn't finished the system. people kept complaining that the sim was no good cause the Eclipse was supposed to have that stuff so we said no were just going to put some INOP stickers over it and call it done just like the real Eclipse ;-)
BTW the real eclipse jet is as bad of a plane as MSFS is a simulator
when MicroSoft guy decides to make a plane you should know better than to trust that he will deliver on promises. that jet is awful! a real pice of crap!
not true at all!! boeing, cessna, bell all use X-Plane for certified flight training and flight test validation. their is NO MSFS product that can do that, ESP is gone it was crap and could not do what X-Plane could do for those flight test programs and flight training programs. I know i made those sims!!! for all 3 companies. their are NO MSFS products in those sim centers at all! i hate liars that clam MSFS is use for the work I do for those people! i got the contract NOT MSFS
no shit really... the certified version cost more WOW i didn't know that. [says sarcastically]
MANY airlines use X-Plane, SouthWest, China, Delta, Northwest, USair, Lufthansa, and many other not to mention NASA, USAF, NAVY, there are other certified sim companies X-Plane is becoming the largest.
NO its the same core program the certified keys unlock the ability to use advanced hardware like the sim i made in this video also the flight models are made to meet standards of flight training ATD/FTD thru A-D level sims that is whats cost extra. BUT it is the same program Yes!
BTW yes the 707,727,737,747 are fully aerobatic up to 6 Gs i Korean airline pilot spun a 747 and pulled out at 7 Gs breaking part of the elevator but landed safely. Oh and he did it on 2 engines :-)
are you fucking stupid or something...there is a simple USB card thingy that cost about £400 (I think)..the reason it is £400 is because that special usb card is the PRO VERSION THAT IS CERTIFIED BY FAA
your full of shit!.. you made that up FSX had better flight dynamics WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! no one who does ratings sais that at all the all say the like the trees better and that s it just the fucking trees are better!!! its a flight simulator not a tree simulator!!!!!
Actually, it is the same copy. The VERY pricey FAA license is nothing but a hardware key (USB), and you must have a key for every machine tied into your simulator network. The key unlocks certain features and tools already included with your copy of X-Plane.
Is there any way of having it so that the left screen shows the left seat cockpit (Virtual Cockpit) and the right screen having the right seat cockpit? I know i can just open another view and drag the right seat view to the right screen but then its weird cuz there are two runways on landing.
please prove why judging on a realism standpoint, If I understand correctly, you are saying that the non FAA approved simulator is better than the FAA approved one?
idk about 15fps, but that would probably have been sufficient for the display requirements for that landing. x-plane is freaking beautifull because of the atmospheric simulation and accuracy of the flight physics on the craft flying in it, and the completness of such craft. pretty sweet set up with 3 30" dells(from my experience ;P )
id still like to see a naturaly curved OLED 7680 2560 setup, processed as one image though, synced to the curve of the screen and tracked with IR.
i want to use 4 monitors. 3 for winshield and 1 for instruments panel. can i do that?

X-Plane is nothing close to real aviation, FSX is so much closer. - To put it simply that is.
agentfazexx 2 years ago
..FSX is not a simulator.. its a game.. although it says "flight simulator X" its still a game.. watch videos of cessna154 some of the videos show the unrealistic FSX is.. but Xplane "laminar research" spend 17 yrs of study for that simulator.. and Xplane's software is being used in nasa.. i don't know why but the use it.. try googleing it.. and yea.. FSX-15gb X-plane-68GB.. :)).. but i'm still on FS2004.. i'm just saying the truth about X-plane being a realistic "simulator"..
joboikickme 2 years ago
As a pilot in reality (not a sim pilot) I think I know what's close to reality and what's not.
agentfazexx 2 years ago
Well, then your wrong on both statements, tell me wen you graduate as a Ms of Science in aerodynamics and change your mind
matsv201 2 years ago
Lol that's cute that you think you have that. I only fly 737's for a living, I think I know what I'm talking about kiddo.
agentfazexx 2 years ago
I dont know whats going on here but i'm sure that a real pilot would not be any where as near as ignorant and shitty as you are, correct me if i'm wrong but with manners like that i would be surprised they even let you fly the single props
ElRhinoProductions 2 years ago
You don´t, if you did you know that a aerodynamic engineer knows a lot more about aerodynamic engineering than a pilot
matsv201 2 years ago
Let's trust the guy on the internet who claims to fly a 737.
danetrain0101 2 years ago 3
I'm not here to prove anything. Believe me or not, I could care less.
agentfazexx 2 years ago
..and yea.. i agree with PlaneAU's comment..
joboikickme 2 years ago
Depends upon what you're looking for in a computer sim. FSX is by far a more user-friendly interface and includes "missions" for entertainment. X-Plane focused upon realism of flight dynamics and customization instead. Out of the box, the basic install of XP uses less space than FSX, unless you load ALL scenery (50GB worth). FSX can get the same quality scenery, but you pay extra for the scernery packages. FSX is also a huge resource hog, although XP avoids this by a max 25-mile view.
Archtraveler 2 years ago 3
guys,fsx is a game x-plane is a simulator. it's not supposed to be easy to use or have great graphics. Its a trainning thing. fsx is for fun
PlaneAU 2 years ago 2
always use the fsx demo to see if it will work on your computers before buying it...its hungry for power!
ellonysman 2 years ago
i paid $30 bucks for this game and it
wont play on my laptop any ideas i have
microsoft should i get the microsoft flight
sim instead
hacker1462 2 years ago
X-plane is not good, but i really dont know why it shouldnt work on a laptop :(((. but u should bring it back if u can and get FSX instead
747forever 2 years ago
yes i think it is a better sim also
manta965 2 years ago
You should try to update the drivers of you videocard maybe that's wrong,
And i think that if fsx works well on your laptop it will run much slower than xplane but it's up to you to choose what you want
tiemji 2 years ago
where is the simulator. that doesn't sound like your house.
psycosheep4495 2 years ago
i think x plane is the best and nothing will change that!
roketboy8 2 years ago
believe what you want but fsx is better in every way just because xplane has 'blade technology' doent mean it works right
ian7410 2 years ago
yes it completly does, if you think it doesnt, go and tell nasa that their software is rubbish.
PlaneAU 2 years ago
the xplane copy youve got doesnt though the models are just not good enough to simulate it right pay 1000 and it probably will but for us fsx is much more real in every way
ian7410 2 years ago
..fsx is better in every way Except.. on being a simulator.. xplane has the FAA license on being a "flight simulator" and fsx didn't get a license.. Fsx is just for entertainment.. x plane is for real pilot.. XD
joboikickme 2 years ago
xplane does not have an faa licence well the ones they sell to the public dont anyway besides both arent flight wise realistic anyway
ian7410 2 years ago
fsx is certifed by boeing, and since I used to have bothe x-plane and fsx and I prefere Fsx for fun and as a simulator.

its a simulator of flight
"great flight simulator"
which it is.
VentralPigeon89 1 year ago
@Flightkid9
no its not! thats a lie Boeing uses X-Plane not MSFS. Boeing uses X-Plane for both flight training and design and testing. ESP is gone its all X-Plane now. as a mater of fact they even did a plug in for there Frasca hardware to run X-Plane for the F-15 sim.
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven not completly, they use both actually, but FSX is certified by Boeing, and after owning both x-plane and fsx i find fsx more realistic when using good payware and occasionally freeware add-ons, i fly gliders curently and fsx seems more realistic when flying gliders, i have very little time in a cessna 172 and that too seems more realistic in fsx when using good add-ons.
Flightkid9 1 year ago
prove the the FAA does... and i almost bought the X-Plane game..i did some hw and actually...FSX has better ratings in "flight dynamics"..it is a myth that X-Plane is better...read up you guys...i almost believed the X-Plane people..but thank god i did not waist my hard earned cash on that game...
chrisair2112 2 years ago
ya but microsoft had to layoff a bunch of people so the FSX project was shut down, no more upadates no more anything
mmaannuukk123 2 years ago
you say FSX has better "Flight Dynamics"....if your saying that then you should not play a flight simulator...you will never learn from FSX...it has the worst flight dynamics...for example, a fully loaded 747 taking off at 110 knots climbing 4000 feet per min...is that realistic or what?
JustAnOrdinarySimmer 2 years ago
It seems like you never have flown with fsx at all. You cant take off a 747 before 150knots with MTW, Minimum Takeoff Weight so would you please stop the bullshit!
FsxCaptain 2 years ago
@JustAnOrdinarySimmer
Do you mean the default 747 ? Cause you should not even fly the default planes in FSX. They indeed are bad. Use addons from wilco or pmdg.
schounick 2 years ago
@JustAnOrdinarySimmer , have you ever heard of PMDG? or Wilco? First of all X-Plane has better dynamics then FSX when it comes to standard planes. Now FSX has PMDG, Airsimmer, Wilco, Rdy for P/u, Level-D, Just Flight, Aerosoft thousands of addons ADDONS.
Have you ever heard of addons you big stupid noob? Those addons have the BEST flight dynamics for MSFS9 and MSFSX! X-plane SUCKS!!!
sonicfan7 2 years ago
You gotta be shitting me x-plane is better than fsx u seriously outta your mind.
re-think about ur thoughts on simulators.,
TheHellz0r 1 year ago
@TheHellz0r
yep it is certified by the FAA MSFS is not
what do uy know about simulators MSFS is a toy for kids X-Plane is the real thing.
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven Well at least the graphics are gr8 and it gives you all the characteristics of a real plane. fuck the FAA who gives a shit about em.
TheHellz0r 1 year ago
@TheHellz0r
yep it was funny some of the systems for this sim did not work because we didnt know how the real ones worked yet. so we went over to Eclipse and saw yellow INOP stickers over those systems ... there was no info cause Eclipse hadn't finished the system. people kept complaining that the sim was no good cause the Eclipse was supposed to have that stuff so we said no were just going to put some INOP stickers over it and call it done just like the real Eclipse ;-)
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven
BTW the real eclipse jet is as bad of a plane as MSFS is a simulator
when MicroSoft guy decides to make a plane you should know better than to trust that he will deliver on promises. that jet is awful! a real pice of crap!
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven msfs is certfied by boeing, cessna, bell, jeppeson and others
hotwheels770 1 year ago
@hotwheels770
not true at all!! boeing, cessna, bell all use X-Plane for certified flight training and flight test validation. their is NO MSFS product that can do that, ESP is gone it was crap and could not do what X-Plane could do for those flight test programs and flight training programs. I know i made those sims!!! for all 3 companies. their are NO MSFS products in those sim centers at all! i hate liars that clam MSFS is use for the work I do for those people! i got the contract NOT MSFS
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven Normal X plane is not FAA certified, only higher price version.
No real airline uses X plane.
Pvjinflight 1 year ago
@Pvjinflight
no shit really... the certified version cost more WOW i didn't know that. [says sarcastically]
MANY airlines use X-Plane, SouthWest, China, Delta, Northwest, USair, Lufthansa, and many other not to mention NASA, USAF, NAVY, there are other certified sim companies X-Plane is becoming the largest.
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@vonriktoven But these have nothing to do with X plane played on home computer, right?
Pvjinflight 1 year ago
@Pvjinflight
NO its the same core program the certified keys unlock the ability to use advanced hardware like the sim i made in this video also the flight models are made to meet standards of flight training ATD/FTD thru A-D level sims that is whats cost extra. BUT it is the same program Yes!
vonriktoven 1 year ago
@Pvjinflight
BTW yes the 707,727,737,747 are fully aerobatic up to 6 Gs i Korean airline pilot spun a 747 and pulled out at 7 Gs breaking part of the elevator but landed safely. Oh and he did it on 2 engines :-)
vonriktoven 1 year ago
are you fucking stupid or something...there is a simple USB card thingy that cost about £400 (I think)..the reason it is £400 is because that special usb card is the PRO VERSION THAT IS CERTIFIED BY FAA
JustAnOrdinarySimmer 2 years ago
@chrisair2112
your full of shit!.. you made that up FSX had better flight dynamics WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! no one who does ratings sais that at all the all say the like the trees better and that s it just the fucking trees are better!!! its a flight simulator not a tree simulator!!!!!
vonriktoven 1 year ago
You have to pay the x-plane people quite a bit of money to activate the real sim they use to train pilots.
The copy you get out of the box is not the same at all.
renton1664 2 years ago
Actually, it is the same copy. The VERY pricey FAA license is nothing but a hardware key (USB), and you must have a key for every machine tied into your simulator network. The key unlocks certain features and tools already included with your copy of X-Plane.

I had x-plane what a piece of junk

Is there any way of having it so that the left screen shows the left seat cockpit (Virtual Cockpit) and the right screen having the right seat cockpit? I know i can just open another view and drag the right seat view to the right screen but then its weird cuz there are two runways on landing.
salman68 2 years ago
no need lol, they created a real cockpit their outside of the screen

that it's a good landing :)

Valid point mate
SpartaClan 2 years ago
actually a good landing does not depend on age, depends on experience and skills.
crispma 2 years ago 15
idk about 15fps, but that would probably have been sufficient for the display requirements for that landing. x-plane is freaking beautifull because of the atmospheric simulation and accuracy of the flight physics on the craft flying in it, and the completness of such craft. pretty sweet set up with 3 30" dells(from my experience ;P )
id still like to see a naturaly curved OLED 7680 2560 setup, processed as one image though, synced to the curve of the screen and tracked with IR.
nazaxprime 3 years ago
that would be awesome
