This is really cool. I heard one time that the first cowboys in America were Jews since it involved cattle. And the song "Coming around the mountain when she comes" supposedly has to do with the joyful awaiting of the Sabbath. But I'm not sure if this is factual or not.

Yes, in some situations Jewish people were cattle dealers in Europe.
I'm not sure about where you are, but some of the first settlers to Western Canada (in my area) were Jews from Austria and Eastern Europe. Der Yidden vandern umetum : )
