@mrkennedy007 I think the flattening of the body thing is their way of confusing predators that they think they can't take on. I saw it on a show called "Life" on the Discovery Channel, but the lizard in the show was a Southwestern Horned Lizard or something like that. Maybe your lizard is just scarred of you :/
When I go to pick up my beardie I get scared cause when my hand is at aronnd his stomach he flattens out his back and becomes thinner, what is he trying to do?
i was planing on getting a baby bearded dragon and my parents where afraid of it crawling around the house or run away, but i know i would really want to play with it. do i have to provide an enclosed surrounding when i play with it? will it go nuts and try to escape once i first get my new pet?
I really don't think you fully achieved your point in this video. You pretty much repeated one thing multiple times. I hate pointless videos like this...
question: my beardy runs to the corner, hits her nose in it and runs around and USED to scratch but hasent for a few days, she is also 4 months old, what size should she be by that age????
I have a bearded dragon she loves to climb to my shoulder and she also likes to sit on the top off my head I always pit my hair in a high bun at the top of my head be4 hand
You can see at 1:42, she also loves the warmth of your arm. My leopard gecko was the same, you can tell when you're handling a lizard if it's relaxed because it'll flatten itself against your skin and take a little time out before exploring
My beardie is tame but runs to the corner when I walk in da room. It's his way of saying mommy take me out and if I don't he gets mad lol do I take him out and then he's happy
I loved my beardie. His name was Redgie and was the tamest little beast ever. He knew his name, LOVED meal worms, always enjoyed hanging out near the fireplace during the winter, rode on my shoulder, and would always wave at me. Sadly, my house wasn't properly heated or conditioned and I had a terrible time with the temperature of the cage. So sadly, he passed away 1 year after I got him :(
@JackyBoiTV bear-dies lick stuff because they have an extra sense it is extreme sense of smell and taste mixed hence the hole in their tongue so they smell stuff using their tongue basically
why to tame your dragon..to tame your dragon? i only say because you didnt show how..or say why its good to tame them..you basically said its good to tame them to have them tame, which is obvious.
i really want one of these but i have a problem with taking insecys in to my apartment, would set protein foods from the petshop work aswell or is this just not my kind of pet.
My bear die does not run to the wall and scratch anymore :) But I saw Lola lick her rock or branch at 0:24 and my beardie does that all the time. Do you know what that means?
Hey i have one more question i have gotten a beardie and he is so good its just a baby but isnt afraid of my hand and loves being held and just sitting on my shoulder what lights should i use i just have a 150w basking light which i keep on all day and turn off at night do i need a uvb light or no is just the basking light good enough?
took my dragon in the yard for a sun gaze and got spooked by a bird, it took off under my deck, the nights got as cold at 10*C and after 4 days of searching and leaving a heat lamp out with bait his crazy ass showed back up the day I went to take down the heat lamp, part of his tail missing covered in some kind of hair and tons of battle wounds later he champed up back into his cage.....and ive never taken him out since. LOL such a bad ass
@aLuCaRDpT oh well then it really doesn't matter in that case, hahaha the only contender was the US wherever it is your from isnt even worth recognizing on any level.
@TheEmarbe lololololoolol america can suck my ass and get blown by terrorists, you illuminatis can kiss my ass. i beg it difer, ANYWHERE is better than USA, i'd rather be frozen on the north pole than be one of u, bunch of fast food fat dumb ppl

@oToxicGamingSlinky Any pet's poop will have bacteria. So, wash your hands after cleaning up their "stuff", dont touch your face or mouth after cleaning up, and be careful with open cuts on your hands. Thats all. If they have poop/crap on their claws and scratch you, its possible that you can get infected. JUST CLEAN UP after them. You;ll be fine
Hey can somebody help me? I've had my bearded dragon for about 2-3 months now and she is still a baby, but I'm very afraid that he won't like me when he's older. When I go to pick him up he immediately runs away. When I do manage to pick him up I hold him over a box (advice I received from someone at the Pet Store) in case he jumps out of my hand, but he does that all the time! He's already threatened to bite me and I don't know what to do!
@XxToxicWerewolfXx this happened to me too. what i did was first i put some of his reptiworms on my hand and put it in front of him. then while hes eating i leave my hand in there for awhile so he gets used to seeing it. after a bit of this try picking him up gently; dont move fast as if youre trying to hunt him and be persistent. even if he doesnt want u to hold him do it so that he knows its ok
@XxToxicWerewolfXx Hand feeding is the best. And don't chase it when it just want to get picked up, it causes stress, and your beardie will like you less. Just relax when handling him.
tame huh? its the close interaction and food that make this possible.we feed wild waterdragons by hand at the creek behind our house.they recognise what's a threat and what not.my wife and i feed the dragons most days, but when the neighbours try the dragons run away.we've even given the the damn things names.STUMPY-a med sized female about 15" PRICILLA-a large male withe very bright patches on his flank about 28" and MUNTAS-another large male with huge chunks missing from his tail about24"
Whats the name from the song in the beginning ? THX ! and it is easy to hold a Bearded Dragon at home for a beginner ? I Like Bearded Dragon so much but i am a beginner!
Of course you have to handle them. That's how you bond with any animal. Usually, they will scratch the sides of their enclosures because they feel "trapped".
i got charlie last year during august and everytime i get charlie out he bites.whenever i put my hand in the cage he backs away from me, he puffs up when i touch him,and opens his mouth alittle. the third night i had him he crawled up my arm but i couldnt get him out because it was getting late.
unless it was a wild imported one i cant see any reason why your beardie should be so agressive when did you get him its harder to tame a adult beardie then it is a juvenile thats one reason the first step towards taming is getting them used to your body parts example a hand or arm before you start picking them up. HIgher temperatures in cage can result in a more agressive beardie including insufficent heating too cold..
I would recommend as a trust exercise with your beardie is hold her on her back in your hand and use the other hand to rub her belly. she will freak out for the first couple of days or weeks that you do it and flip herself over quickly, but eventually she'll learn to love it and you can hold her like a baby.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon (I'm gonna get it baby, let it grow)... but I have some questions.
1. (About) How long do they live?
2. Do they bite you before there Tame (After there tame do they bite)
3. Are they friendly? (Tame/ Non-Tame)
4. How long does it take the to be tame (If you hold them an hour a day or more)
Thanks! Please answer!

To tame a lizard:
1)have a wild lizard
2)pick up wild lizard(note: he/she will try to get away)
3)hold lizard tight not to hard but don't let him move at all.
4)when he stops wiggling wait 3 sec~ and open your hands (note: still hold on to a leg)
5)gratz you have a tame lizard.
I have done this with wild lizards that I found, and it works 100% of the time for me.
Just show the lizard that you are not going to hurt them when you have full control. yes, I have two dragons (Lidy and Harvey)

@laskolasko buy your bearded dragons at a young age so u can tame them when there young and they will like you more, and u can watch them grow
mygeckoleo 2 months ago
@laskolasko I got three adults. When you're a beginner, I would say adults are the best, they don't get sick and are stronger.
I got my dragons and in less than a day, they were used to me. If they were younger, it would take weeks!
Try to touch them without startling them and give them a shower/bath for like 4 times a week. They love that and will like you even more!

I would recommend as a trust exercise with your beardie is hold her on her back in your hand and use the other hand to rub her belly. she will freak out for the first couple of days or weeks that you do it and flip herself over quickly, but eventually she'll learn to love it and you can hold her like a baby.

I just got a Baby Bearded Dragon today, and it sits for long periods of time. Is this normal? Its almost like it's scared to move.
