If "the youth" can somehow move beyond the politically correct programming they have been indoctrinated with since birth, I think there is a chance. Year of Youth is a project of Young Americans For Liberty, which is a student organization run by the Ron Paul campaign. The Ron Paul campeign has recently found a home with talk show host Judge Napolitano on Glen Beck at Fox News.I think Ron Paul has some legit points, and that his campaign is really exciting, but the Neocons are trying to jump on the bandwagon. If you like Ron Paul,Judge Napolitano, and Glen Beck, go ahead, but just know that Year of Youth isn't exactly a spontaneous uprising.
I'm skeptical. Your founders both hold high ranking positions at YAL, (according to your website) and you seem to like Ron Paul. Where do you get your funding? I see something like this and it looks like yet another republican front organization like "students for academic freedom." (owned by david horowitz) Are you sure you're not just out there to get us to line up behind Ron and Glen? Convince me you're genuine, and maybe I'll give you some thought.
Our funding so far has come from donations from members mostly. We haven't actually received much funding yet as we're waiting on the IRS to start raising money. This is a fledgling organization just getting off the ground. We're also focusing on local campaigns and NOT Ron Paul or Glenn Beck.

A majority of the Obama voters didn't really know what to do. He was endorsed on MTV; therefore the youth went for him. I supported RP because I didn't want to have to choose for the lesser of 2 evils. When it came time for the November election, I did just that and chose the lesser of 2 evils. Another thing I would like to point out is that the main tactic of the elite is to divide and conquer. This includes the youth and the elders. Please let's also stop having everything be turned into a race competition. THAT is one of the fundamental things wrong as well. If we stopped worrying about which color person got slighted everytime something was said or filmed or whatever, we would also stop noticing we were different colors to begin with and just "people". Not all, for sure but most.

Also, American Idealism is no better than American Exceptionalism. Both terms are ambiguous and inherently collectivist. Think before you write. This movement is more complex than you realize.

Fantastic. "And a child will show the way." I am 36, not the youth, but with lots of hope. The restabilization of our nation will take more than one group of people. Its gonna take the majority of us. Lets support our kids! Show them strength and determination. (mixed with milk and cookies) And for those who speak poorly of Ron Paul, who did you vote for? The youth never voted for war or debt. We didn't break it, we're not going to buy it. Has it become revolutionary to support the ideals of localism? We'll take care of our own, not be held captive by a stagnant surrogate power in D.C.

Its not that we are trying to alienate any age group. We are just trying to fill a niche. Localizing is defidently something that the liberty movement wants. IF we as yotuh can take these local positions, it serves a two-fold purpose:
1 - De-centralizing government, as we will fight to take power away from the national government. The only way to do that is to have lots of localities everywhere standing up against the leviathan.
2 - Its a great way for youth to get exprienced.

Also, being middle-aged myself most younger people are still open to new perspectives. Most people my age have dug their heels in where their comfort zone is and are not budging in their ideology. It is time for a new regime if we have any hope of turning this thing around. The kids we gave birth to deserve it..

I'm sure your heart is in the right place, but keep your intentions and actions in the right direction -- on Ron Paul's goals and purposes -- and less on "age" and your group will succeed and be of value. The youth movement should be supporting those adhering to the liberty movement, regardless of age.
An old movie called, "Wild in the Streets" made a great statement on age discrimination in politics.

What exactly does this group define as "youth?" Are we talking 40's? 30's? Younger? I'm only 35, and frankly a group of twenty year-olds running my government who've never had children, never taken care of aging parents, probably never paid a mortgage...let's face it, 28 years old is only 10 years out of HIGH SCHOOL! So let's be real here, there's a difference between intelligence, ideas, and wisdom.

I applaud the youth movement for getting involved in our country's future, as long as it doesn't become a group devoted to age discrimination as parts of this video and the author's comments on Youtube allude... that having youth in office will somehow make all the difference.
The youth have no lock on goodness, intelligence, honesty, etc. The youth voted for Obama and have been educated by government run schools which promote collectivism. All tyrants, murderers and criminals began as youth.

Stretching out and taking government back to localities is the goal.
Plus, who will get news coverage when they run? Yes, youth make front page and evening news highlights, thereby giving the liberty movement a greater stage its never had!
Think about it, same old rich white guy running for office, or young passionate and movement based 21 year old running a hard campaign? What makes headlines?

Well - where the hell were all of you when I was voting for Ron Paul and everyone else wanted the OBamanation. I still wanted what he represents - Following the constitution and small government, but forget it all for now as we have a near dictator. This is some serious damage being done and may not be able to be undone.

Obviously the guy who made the video wants the youth to unite and vote for Ron Paul. But instead of a backwards way at hinting at that, you should have just come out with it said vote Ron Paul. I believe in Ron Paul so I will...if he runs.
