@lovesheart....you mean Mike Fisher, right? But as the Magic Man, I was definitely referring to guitar-Rog. I feel very fortunate to have attended 2 shows on the Dog and Butterfly tour. Little could I have known 32 years ago, I was witnessing something that would stay with me as such a fond memory and musical influence all these years.
@rschoolcraft No kidding, not sure if ladies have forgivin and forgotten, you realize Michael was the MM of course,Rog =fretboard MM. I honestly doubt it will happen, but stranger things have
Sharp smoky violet vocals just resonate my chakras~ 'Love the dreamlike sequence at the 5:20 or so mark~ ! the guitarists really change the rhythm up nicely- superb tone on that end solo~!
Ann's voice was so much warmer in these days. While it is still OK today, it has become a touch raspy. This is one of my very fav Heart songs, always surprised it wasnt released as a the single - over Heartless.
@Jev414 Wonderful,I was blessed to see the launch as Dreamboat was hitting the airwaves. They opened for April Wine, and Man did we know Who HEART was from then on.Climax & HEART on the same bill?WOW!!!
Anne & Nancy are my heros. As far as I'm concerned, Anne's the queen of rock! No one can sing like her - she blows them all out of the water. She's STILL got it!
This just in...Ann is funny. I love this song, it's such an underrated song! She has such a beautiful voice, and the lyrics are wonderful. Amazing Ann. (not to forget about the awesome guitar/keys solo at the end :)
Without a doubt this is my favorite Heart song...ever. First time I ever heard a guitar 'cry' was when Roger Fisher played the solo at the end of this song. I was so happy that I got to see them play this live. Thank you for posting this song.

The group is playing beautifully here! Consistent with other benchmarks of musical excellence of the era that performed in this arena, what is truly remarkable is how EFFORTLESS their brilliance is. What a genuine pity that Roger Fisher couldnt have remained in the band. Im in full agreement with other commentators whove studied this performance. His electric guitar work that concludes this segment is superbly controlled, a case study in controlled feedback!
Controlled Feedback,I like that, and I agree my only regret is that the original lineup could not last.Heart certainly was caught in a strange position, dating band mates is a recipe for problems.
And now, a question only a true Heartmonger could answer
Would the venue be The Capital Center in Largo (or Mitchellville), Maryland? If so, I was living not too far away in Owings Mills, playing lacrosse and mastering sixth-grade cell division! At the time, I remember reading in the Baltimore Sun that it was one of the few venues in the country that featured its own inhouse video camera system! Time passes too quickly☺
Being a Canuck Monger my American venue knowledge is limited, the Cap center in Largo.I keep hearing how this place filmed every act that came thru,I bet there's a treasure trove of unreleased footage of many acts stashed in some guys garage somewhere? It duz fly, this tune is quite touching,is it not?
Great live performance. It's so great there are so many live vids, since I never had the chance to actually see them live. Ann is my everlasting crush, my hero, and I love Nancy's guitarplay. thnx for posting
Hey! This band was not only my !st true rock concert(Municipal Auditorioum1978)(Mike F.)This band has exhibited an ASTOUNDING!!! example of the dreams dreamt by restless HEARTS in the full artistic colours of God Almighty, the Ultimate Artiste!!!!!!!
I love rogers guitar lead right at the end its so perfect he's probably one of the best guitarist of the 70's era and no one gave him the thanks he deserved :-( he influenced me to play guitar along with alex lifeson
I've LOVED Heart for many moons now, and for me this just may be my most favorite song by them. The studio track is pure magic for me. Thanks for posting this!
Heart. Truly one of the premier rock bands. Especially during this era. Rodger Fischer the most underrated rock guitarist of his time. Shame these don't get more views.
Lovesheart, I like the way you put the lyrics with your videos. I also love your love of Ann AND Nancy. WIsh i could see your Alice show bet it RAWKS!

@EddieAlda I was just listening to younger Ann's timbre on Barracuda @ Cal Jam,she had such a sweet tone, will always love her voice. : )

I think this is a great song too.
About Ann's voice, it's natural some difference between 28 and 60 years, but she always give us great emotions!
MrTorpedoFist 1 year ago
@EddieAlda If we only knew how many hundreds of thousands of concerts she has sung, I think we would be amazed she has any voice left at all.
She was in rare form at this concert. So glad there is a recording of it.

No wonder I like 70's Heart so much, they had such a wide variety of song types and sounds. The lineup here was incredibly gifted.

That suggests that lighting was bad, yet still photos would suggest otherwise. I think it must have been video technology wasn't up to much.
