I went back to look at my original file from 11 months ago and sure enough I must have made a boo boo with my video editing software and not caught it. Hopefully the material is still understandable though.
Hi Ed! 'good to see you're still using this channel.
I love your vids. ..I usually end up playing a wing position. I know you're a defensemen but I'd be willing to bet you have a lot of helpful input for forwards as well.
A defenseperson on my team recently congradulated me after a game on my good back-checking.. maybe you could do a segment on back-checking so I can better understand what I'm doing right and not have to rely so much on instinct.
Yes, I should make back-checking one of my topics for a future video. Having the offenders playing as hard without the puck as with is something that's really nice for a defender to see.
Hey I really like these videos! They translate very well to broomball too!
Question: our broomball league is 8's, so 3 forwards, 2 "mids", 2 defenders, and a goalie... My players are confused as to where they should generally be. Any suggestions?
None of us played hockey and have not had formal coaching - so anything you can suggest would help. (there aren't many instructional materials on broomball, just hockey with 6 players)

Ed;
At about 3:17 of your video some overlap shadowing (audio and video) appears...can you adjust?

Hi Coach,

I'll have to see if I can fix it...
Thanks for the comment,

I'll put it on my list!

Hmmm. Here's a handful of items that ought to be applicable (from defense to offense):
- On defense deny the other team time and space.
- Move with the other team's attacker instead of making an all-or-nothing swipe at the puck/ball.
- Do not make passes across the middle in our own end.
- A pass and a shot is more likely to beat a goalie than just a shot. But do take the shot if you have one.
- The forward on the side away from the puck should be at the far post.
Hope this helps,
Ed

Good video, but why does it double layer audio and video at around 3 minutes?
It's pretty confusing

I'm not sure why it does that sometimes. I've seen it do that too. I didn't record it that way.
Maybe we'll have to ask the YouTube support team what's going on there. Or maybe try with a different browser like FireFox or something.
Anyway, sorry it did that to you,
