  • i cant stand black spics..some of them are black as coal and get offended if you say they are black..confused asses..american blacks dont have that problem

  • will somebody please let them know...especially the black dominicans...they are clueless.

  • @pancakeice1 Eres un oreo de seguro!

  • hes right my step sisters grandmother is blacker than night and we are puertorican

  • @ayaknowledgegod, being hispanic does not define if you are black or white. It just means you were conquered by the Spaniards. Francois speaking nations wouldn't apply because they were colonized by the French. I get what you mean though. Makes sense. All this racial stuff going on just proves that the entire world is screwed. We seriously need God! This mess is bigger than America as a whole. We have this going on in Africa. Hutsu vs Tutsi. Crazy right? God help us all.

  • 9th) Blacks (Negros)

With Spaniards and Indians, this was the third original "race" in this paradigm, but low on the social scale because of their association with slavery. These were people of full Sub-Saharan African descent. Many, especially among the first generation, were slaves, but there were sizable free-Black communities. Distinction was made between Blacks born in Africa (negros bozales) and therefore possibly less acculturated, Blacks born in the Iberian Peninsula (Black Ladinos),

  • 8th) Zambos

Persons who were of mixed Indian and Black ancestry. As with Mulattos, many other terms existed to describe the degree of mixture. These included Chino and Lobo. Chino usually described someone as having Mulatto and Indian parents.

  • 6th Cholos or Coyotes

Persons with one Indian parent and one Mestizo parent.

    7th Mulattos or Pardos

Persons of the first generation of a Spanish and Black mix. If they were born into slavery (that is their mother was a slave), they would be slaves, unless freed by their master or were manumitted.

  • Funny. His comment is correct and very incorrect at the same time. Also the way he stated was a little rude but hey he's a comedian so I guess he can get away with that stuff. PuertoRicans and Blacks are different in this. America: If you have even a little bit of black. YOUR BLACK. Hispanics: You may have kinky hair, pale skin, or be indigenous, have euro roots or afro roots but regardless of what YOUR HISPANIC. That's really what the difference is.

  • @NyaS92 That is not actually true because Hispanics had a Casta system & on the bottom was Negro which was full African then Mulattoes which are Half African & Half European. The were the Gente sin razon. Without reason because they mixed blood. The HIspanos & Latinos were at the top & La Gente de Razon. People with Reason because they did not mix & were pure. 1.Peninsular born in Spain Top 2nd Criollo person of Spanish descent born in New World. 3) Indio Original inhabitants of Americas.

  • @NyaS92 4th) Mestizos

Persons with one Spanish parent and one Indian parent. The term was originally associated with illegitimacy because in the generations after the Conquest, mixed-race children born in wedlock were assigned either a simple Indian or Spanish identity, depending with which culture they were raised. (See Hyperdescent and Hypodescent.)

  • @NyaS92 5th) Castizos

One of the many terms, like the ones below, used to describe people with varying degrees of racial mixture. In this case Castizos were people with one Mestizo parent and one Spanish parent. The children of a Castizo and a Spaniard, or a Castizo him- or herself, were often classified and accepted as a Criollo Spaniard.[14]

  • @NyaS92 and Blacks born in the Indies, these sometimes referred to as negros criollos. Their low social status was enforced legally. They were prohibited by law from many positions such as entering the priesthood, & their testimony in court was valued less than others. But they could join militias created especially for them. In contrast with the binary "one-drop rule", which evolved in the late-19th-century United States people of mixed-Black ancestry were recognized as multiple separate groups

  • it's COMEDY...LAUGH....take all these race disputes elsewhere

  • Now take for example Ricky Martin who is Puertorican Spanish white Latino. Now his kids and him are Genetically Spanish Latino white. They are not Afro Latinos and neither is he. I also believe his boyfriend is white latino as well.

  • Now here is an example. Baseball Player Carlos Delgado who is visibly African from Puerto Rico. He is in a interracial relationship & his wife is white Latina. However let say he would have married and African American from the United States like many Puertoricans of African descent do, and they have a kid. Even though he is Puertorican & he had a kid with an African American woman then his offspring would be of African ancestry. It is simple but many people either over complicate things

  • Again everyone is mixed is not true in Puerto Rico. Many whites did not mix and many blacks did not mix. Interracial relationships were not often accepted in the old days like they are now. Some families still frown upon interracial relationships. In America and Latin America depending on family and where you live. This is just reality.

  • dominicans and puerto ricans are made up of three things. black, spanish, and taino indian. there used to be slaves on all the islands which is why you have large black communities in all of the island nations of the Caribbean. cuba also has a lot of black people there too. also brazil has many blacks due to slavery. for the most part he is right. im both black on my mother side and puerto rican on my dads side. youll see a lot of black people in puerto rico and the dominican republic

  • @pancakeice1

No one has to do anything. But when someone makes an assertation they open themselves up for debate. Everyone is free to define themselves as they please. But when too many people choose to be something other than what we are, then there is a problem that shouldn't be ignored. Latino is not a race or ethnicity. A DNA test will not reveal nationality, ethnicity, or language only race. That it something that cannot be changed no matter how much some try.

  • how come in Latin America, Afro-Latinos embrace who they are, and it seems as if there is lots of love, despite the condtions, but in America there is sooooo much hatred between Latinos and African Americans!?

  • @da3shhtewjizz California tends to have Hispanic (mainly Mexican) and black conflict on over there. Many Blacks hate the fact that Hispanics are getting jobs and moving into predominant black neighborhoods changing the demographic. Blacks don't understand how a Hispanic person who live in America for 20 years and still can't speak no English but yet is able to get a job easily.

  • @AfroPrideTV bullshit, most blacks don't have a problem with latinos, latinos have a problem with black people, ignorant shitheads from across the border are usually racist as hell compared to the latinos who are already in california, southern latinos are well known to hate blacks they even hate other latinos that get along with blacks.

  • @AfroPrideTV Here's the thing not all Hispanics live in inncer cities sweetie. Majority of Mexicans live in the same area as black, but South American people don't because they have enough money to have their own business and come here legally with papers. I live in a suburb area I do not live in the projects.

  • @mycrazylittlestar LOL How dare you most Mexicans populate the Southwest and many live spread out in many areas not just in Urban areas like Los Angles. Many Mexicans have been here even way b4 Anglo settlers and own many businesses like Mexican restaurants you may have visited as well as ranches and farms scattered throughout the southwest. Even the richest man in the world is Mexican so I would shut up b4 you piss off some Mexicans.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Eva Longoria -Through the generations, Longoria's ancestors moved north to the modern US-Mexico border. In 1767, her 7th great-grandfather received almost 4,000 acres (16 km2) of land along the Rio Grande in a land grant from the King of Spain. This land stayed in the family for over a century, enduring through the influx of Anglo settlers in the aftermath of the Mexican-American War and American Civil War. Hispanics like U need to learn some history b4 talking smack.

  • @sportsmarvel That only happen with Eva Langoria and I'm in college you ignorant twat. Majority of Mexicans live in inner cities because some of them come here illegally and work for minimum jobs. You only named one famous person jackass named another one? It's not racist but it's true when did ever seen a South American person work for minimum jobs? Hispanic Americans like me are getting tired of being compared with Mexicans to be hinest.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Victoria is a city in and the seat of Victoria County, Texas, United States Victoria is named for General Guadalupe Victoria, who became the first president of independent Mexico.. A later colony was established by Martín De León in 1824, and was the only predominantly Mexican colony in Texas. Victoria was the center of the colony, which was part of an effort by the Mexican government to settle Texas. It doesn't matter if you are in college you are still an idiot.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Like I said they are spread in the southwest but since most Mexicans founded and settled many cities in the Southwest they would be in every area not just Urban like Los Angeles. Also where do you think most farms are located in rural areas. I know you are stupid and can't figure it out. Also many Mexicans work on ranches as well with Livestock. Also her Name is Eva Longoria. You can't even spell her name correctly & you claim to be Hispanic.

  • @sportsmarvel I'm Brazilian/Panamanian and Mexican and yes some Argentine can be a little racist, but it's not just them. Hispanic Americans (Colombians, Venezuelians, Panamanians etc) are fat up of being compared with Mexicans. Your people are racist towards everybody not all of them of course. You need to write proper English and if I ever confront you I will call the cops only ghetto, unclassy, indigent people like you are violent.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Ok so you are Afro Latina so I don't know how they compare you to us when you all have a different look & no I am not saying it is ugly. I am just saying you all look different. 1 because the Portuguese controlled the slave trade and have the highest number of Africans outside of Africa followed by Haiti & D.R in America Latina. 2nd Panama had many Caribbean people go to Panama to work on the Panama canal. 3rd it is not are fault White Anglo people compare u 2 Mexicans.

  • @sportsmarvel No dumbass I'm not Afro-latina I'm Mestiza. There's Mestizos, whites, and blacks in Brazil not just black people for Christ sake. Panama is connected to Colombia and Costa Rica it is not in the Caribbean seas you even fail geography. Panama is almost the same as Colombia same traditions, food and music. Alot of Asian immigrants came to built the Panama canal you ignorant twat you're just saying words I know because I've done my research pathetic cunt.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Natives Spanish & Mexicans have been on these lands long b4 White Anglo Europeans came here.. If you live in the southwest of the United States of America then get used to it. Plus it is not our fault people are ignorant. You are talking about the ghetto (LOL) and you are from Brazil & Panama. You are talking about my English LOL. Also I would keep you stupidity & unfounded facts about Mexicans to yourself. You have no clue about our history & U need to read up badly.

  • @sportsmarvel Again when did I said I was from Brazil? I'm half Brazilian, half Panamanian and half Mexican I was born and raised in Texas dumbass proud Hispanic American. It's not stupidity it's facts look how your people live. Majority live in the projects other Hispanic Americanns don't sweetie and it's nothng racist about that it's the plain truth.

  • @mycrazylittlestar This is what Mestizo means stupid. Mestizo is a term traditionally used in Latin America, Philippines and Spain for people of mixed European and Native heritage or descent. You are mulata not Mestiza. Mulatto denotes a person with one white parent and one black parent, or more broadly, a person of mixed black and white ancestry. Also you are not Mexican because no Mexican would put down their own race . Plus there is nothing wrong with being Afro Latina get over it.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Panama had a population of 3,405,813 in May 2010.[29] The CIA World Factbook gives the following statististics for the population: "mestizo (mixed Amerindian and white) 70%, Amerindian and mixed (West Indian) 14%, white 10%, Amerindian 6%".

  • @mycrazylittlestar Afro-Panamanians have played a significant role in the creation of the republic. Some historians have estimated that up to 50% of the population of Panama has some African ancestry. Afro-Panamanians are the descendants of later migrants from the Caribbean who came to work on railroad construction projects, commercial agricultural enterprises, and especially the canal. Important Afro-Caribbean community areas include towns and cities such as Colón,

  • @mycrazylittlestar Cristobal and Balboa, in the former Canal Zone, as well as the Río Abajo area of Panama City. Another region with a large Afro-Caribbean population is the province of Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean coast just south of Costa Rica.[34] Most of the Panamanian population of West Indian descent owe their presence in the country to the monumental efforts to build the Panama Canal in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. .

  • @mycrazylittlestar Most of the Panamanian population of West Indian descent owe their presence in the country to the monumental efforts to build the Panama Canal in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Three-quarters of the 50,000 workers who built the canal were Afro Caribbean migrants from the British West Indies. Thousands of Afro-Caribbean workers were recruited from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad

  • @mycrazylittlestar Brazilians are mostly descendants of colonial and post-colonial Portuguese settlers and immigrants, African slaves and Brazil's indigenous peoples, along with several other groups of immigrants who arrived in Brazil mostly from the 1820s until the 1970s

  • @mycrazylittlestar The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) classify the Brazilian population in five categories: brancos (white), negros (black), pardos (brown), amarelos (Asian/yellow) and índios (Amerindian), based on skin color or race. The last detailed census (PNAD) found Brazil to be made up of 93 million Whites, 80 million brown people, 11.7 million Blacks, and 1.3 million Asian or Amerindian.

  • @mycrazylittlestar The ethnic composition of Brazilians is not uniform across the country. Due to its large influx of European immigrants in the 19th century, the Southern Region has a large White majority, composing 79.6% of its population. he Northeastern Region, as a result of the large numbers of African slaves working in the sugar cane engenhos, has a majority of pardos and black peoples, respectively, 63.1% and 7.0%.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Blacks constitute the third largest ethnic group of Brazil, 12 million. These are people who have origins in any of the black populations of Africa. In the country, the terms are generally used for Brazilians with at least partial Sub-Saharan African ancestry. Most African Brazilians are the direct descendants of captive Africans who survived the slavery era within the boundaries of the present Brazil, but also with some European and Amerindian ancestry.

  • @sportsmarvel lmao You just copied and pasted you stupid homo sapien. Majority of immigrants from Asia built the Panama canal my mom told me so dumbass. Appereantly you're reading your resources from website why don't you grt a book for a change and read the "facts." There's is blacks in Latin countries including Mexico "olmecs." Now there's alot of European Brazilians who live in Sau Paulo and in Panama 70% of the population are mestizos I know because I went to Brazil and Panama before.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Well I don't just make an opinion I back it up with facts unlike you. Yes, I know their are Asians in Panama but that is not the point. 2nd Yes their are blacks in Mexico it is around 1% of this population a small minority. 200,000 to 300,000 slaves went to Mexico. Every country has blacks including Spain, France, England, Argentina but they are a small minority compared to Brazil and Panama.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Also you should know that the Olmecs were MesoAmerican. You really need to read more. The Olmec were the first major civilization in Mexico. They lived in the tropical lowlands of south-central Mexico, in the modern-day states of Veracruz and Tabasco.

The Olmec flourished during Mesoamerica's Formative period, dating roughly from as early as 1500 BCE to about 400 BCE. Pre-Olmec cultures had flourished in the area since about 2500 BCE, but by 1600-1500 BCE

  • @mycrazylittlestar Early Olmec culture had emerged centered around the San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán site near the coast in southeast Veracruz. They were the first Mesoamerican civilization and laid many of the foundations for the civilizations that followed.[2] Among other "firsts", the Olmec appeared to practice ritual bloodletting and played the Mesoamerican ballgame, hallmarks of nearly all subsequent Mesoamerican societies.

  • @mycrazylittlestar Scholars have not determined the cause of the eventual extinction of the Olmec culture. Between 400 and 350 BCE, the population in the eastern half of the Olmec heartland dropped precipitously, and the area was sparsely inhabited until the 19th century.[17]

  • @mycrazylittlestar This depopulation was likely the result of "very serious environmental changes that rendered the region unsuited for large groups of farmers", in particular changes to the riverine environment that the Olmec depended upon for agriculture, hunting and gathering, and transportation.

  • @mycrazylittlestar a number of Olmec alternative origin speculations have been put forth. Although several of these speculations, particularly the theory that the Olmecs were of African origin popularized by Ivan van Sertima's book They Came Before Columbus, have become well-known within popular culture, they are not considered credible by the vast majority of Mesoamerican researchers.

Again before you type you should read first. No one cares about your opinion. NOT Considered credible.

  • @mycrazylittlestar The only way 2 fight ignorance & misinformation is with facts. Facts that R solid & credible & not just opinions like in your case. I suggest b4 cutting down a people & making false claims U read up on what U R talking bout or U will look like a fool. The Brazilian Institute of Geography & Statistics (IBGE) classify the Brazilian population in 5 categories: brancos (white), negros (black), pardos (brown), amarelos Asian/yellow & índios (Amerindian), based on skin color or race

  • @da3shhtewjizz

I can assure that much of the so-called hate is urban legend and media hype. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. But it is next to none, even in L.A. Actually, I could write an entire paper on this subject. Most crime in this country is against someone of the same race as the perpetrator. Yet in California prisons people are separated by race, although the vast majority of gang members are in jail for comitting crimes against someone of their own race.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa

As a result of people being separated by race (and not gang affiliatation) in California prisons, people unconsciously act out believing that they have been separated for a reason. I think this is actually a political move. People they have never perceived to be their enemy, are now their enemy, even after they are released from prison.

  • @da3shhtewjizz Being from L.A. yeah!! its bad in most areas!! it comes from prison and the drug trade!! I stumbled upon a document that really shocked me! certain elements of the U.S. Govt is using Mexicans and other latino groups to try to exterminate the black population through a form of ethnic cleansing!! YES!! its the Govt thats fostering this bullshit!!

  • @jacksondarryl34 first off stop spreading lies. This is gang violence against gangs trying to control vast areas of California and not ethnic cleansing. Plus many Blacks and Mexicans hang out together who are not in gangs.

  • @sportsmarvel Fool!! First of all, you dont understand white supremacy and its ultimate goal dumbass!! Second! Im from Los Angeles!! My neighborhood was 99% black!! now its 50/50!! so please shut the fuck up!.LOL at least 60% of my associates are mexican! Second, Im highly intelligent and am very much involved in research and knowledge concerning this particulaer racial dynamic! I know mexican gang members and blacks who hang out together! I got homeboys that are 13s,14s, MS13, and brownpriders!

  • @da3shhtewjizz not in the bronx..travel a little more

  • @pancakeice1 - Have you heard of freedom of speech? People have the right to speak what's on their mind in the U.S.

  • @Rayarena He's going by what he experienced. I seen many white Latinos says I'm not white I'm Cuban or Puerto Rican all the time. I even knew some white Latinos that identify as Spanish and not white which silly. Many Latinos of different nationalities do the same shit. It looks bad when a Hispanic person of African descent rejects their African roots and embrace the European Native American roots.

  • @Rayarena What makes think all Cubans and Cuban Americans of African descent would never deny being black? Many of them do not claim black even though they are not as notorious as Dominicans and Dominican Americans of African descent. Paul Mooney has lived long time to see how people act when it comes on to race. In this same stand up, Mooney said black people in California are suckers for skin and hair and they think their not black because they have light skin and wavy hair.

  • @Rayarena I think you looked deeper into his words. He wasn't talking about Cubans, he meant latinos that deny that they are black. Yes a lot of cubans recognize they are black but a lot of other latino's that are black will deny it.

  • @Rayarena I disagree with you as far as you saying Paul Mooney being ignoramus. He's only addressing Afro-Latinos who deny their blackness. You never heard a black person of Hispanic heritage refer to themselves as Spanish and not black?

  • He nailed it right in the head. Great stuff. I'm proud of my African heritage. I love my blackness and my black people. Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba all have African heritage and we are very proud of that!!! Our music and instruments and dances says it all. Not only am I proud of all this, but of my Taino indian ancestry which I hold dear to my heart.

  • lol never thought of it that way about the caribbeans : D

  • @MixChick4ever Plenty of children think that way. That's why they say that.

  • @katricedabx Hey watch your tone. It's relevant because you brought it up. Would you like it if a Hispanic person call you English because you speak English? You can't distinguish someone of Puerto Rican ancestry and someone of Mexican ancestry since they all come in all race, got that? Don't get offended because I'm telling you something you don't know. Citizens of Latin America don't call themselves Spanish.

  • oh and when we have africans they check A which i assume is for african however there is no choice for african , they are supposed to check black. some check it, some dont. if you are african in american you are considered black Period. there is no special catergory for africans only White, Black, Asia, Native american and Pacific Islander

  • i work in a foodstamp office in the bronx ny, everyone is given a application that asks if they are latino and then you MUST pick a race (black, white, asian, etc) No spainish people EVER pick a race they always check latino/a and thats it. But i cant complete the electronic applications without entering race. I'll ask them what race and they dont understand the concept. If i say are you white they say no, black they say no . i usually look at skin and decide for my self. i got tired of asking

  • @katricedabx You have to learn the history of the Dominican republic. Rafael trujillo was a racist dictator and wanted to whiten the DR. DR was also taken over by haiti. They wanted to distinguish themselves from black haitians thats why they are so reluctant to say they are black. They rather say that they are taino. we all know that aint true. Most PR are very Americanized and dont know their history PRicans from the island know the deal

  • @katricedabx Black/ mulato cubans almost always identify with their african roots. African tradition are still strongly maintained in cuba through food dance and religon

  • @katricedabx The word "latino" wasn't invented until the 70's to describe people who weren't from Spain but lived a Spanish culture. Me personally, I go by hair texture....straight hair is white, curly/nappy hair is black. You have Latinos that fall into every category.

  • @AlizeCiz - Caucasians, as a whole, are a GERMAN-ated SEED---and do NOT possess the KEY or CODE for human existence.

  • Paul Mooney is a daaaaaaaaayum FOOL! *crackin' up!*

  • Pual Mooney is hilarious, but he is SOOOOOO WHITE AMERICAN HERE..lol. His egocentric stance is typical white american, where American culture and history trumps all. He acts as if whats true for the US, must be true everywhere else. For instance, Im white, 100% euro the whole nine..But Im Latino, I dont consider myself white, and Im not self hating, my customs my sensibilities and experiences are different to those of white americans..

  • @Sidsix5555 - You are STILL a Caucasian, however.

  • @GingerBronze - Good job captain obvious, and thanks for missing the point. You need to open your mind

  • Im Puerto Rican, and I have no shame in saying I am black, but i feel kinda dumb saying it, considering how white I am.

  • @This7is7my7Insanity Maybe you should say you are Mulatto if you can't say you are black. However like someone said before many Cubans even the Mulatto ones claim African ancestry and have never shy away from doing so. Also this is not just about skin color but also hair texture as well as facial features & other African features that are associated with being of African Ancestry. Example Derek Jeter is white skinned but he has thick Afro hair. Arod is Carmel color with green eyes big butt.

  • @This7is7my7Insanity That's pretty funny, that's cool, that made me laugh.

  • @MrBull419 well thank you, I try...I try,,,

  • @This7is7my7Insanity I think Puerto Rican or Brazilians identify themselves with their very mix culture no matter what color they are. In US people make a big deal about the color of the skin because thats their only identity.

  • @whiner00 Not all Puertoricans identify with being mixed race because not all are. Take a look at this video on youtube.... The real true Puerto Ricans !.... It states that only 20% of Puertoricans are African or mixed. That is what the video claim. I have heard estimates of 30% but I also heard that everyone is mixed which is false. Many people are not mixed in Puerto Rico. I don't know about Brazil but I am sure not everyone is mix their either.

  • @sportsmarvel

There is no video that says only 20% of Puerto Ricans are African or mixed. You are misinterpreting a study. MOST Puerto Ricans are mixed. Simple math, history, and geneaology would tell one that. And there are more Puerto Ricans in the United States (mainland) than in Puerto Rico. Most of whom, identify as mixed or black. Much to the dismay of racist Puerto Ricans.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa Yes there is a video out. Honestly, I thought it was more like 40% Afro Latinos and Mulattoes in Puerto Rico but this video says 80% of the island of Puerto Rico is White and 20% is African or mixed. It is highly unlikely that everyone is mix because their are families that did not mix & not everyone got raped. Just like today some white Spanish did not like blacks or were not attracted to them & they did not mix. Also many were Catholic & rape was a sin.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa Slavery was abolished in 1873 only 139 years ago. Also many white Spanish families were clasitas & would not marry what they consider to be below their family elite status. Many people would try to find a partner equivalent to them or with a higher status. A lot of times marriages were arraigned to a suitable partner with a good family name. A person lives around 70 years women a bit longer. 70 x 2 = 140 years less than 2 generations has slavery been abolished in Puerto Rico

  • @sportsmarvel

First of all Latin Europeans have very different notions of race compared to other Europeans. Purity has NEVER been an issue. Everyone knows that. That's why other racist whites don't consider spaniards white. Whites in Puerto Rico were outnumbered for most of the history of the country. I have seen the video you are referring to. I assure you I am a black woman, yet in almost every country in Latin America I wouldn't be considered black.

  • @sportsmarvel

Much of my family is considered white, even though they are actually mixed or black. The video you refer to is based SOLEY upon self racial classification of those who filled out a census form. It is not a dna test. Just as I call myself black, but I am also of native and European descent. And although, slavery has been abolished for less than 140 years, most blacks were already freedmen.

  • @sportsmarvel

The census in Puerto Rico is so screwed. Natives misteriously disappeared overnight. I did my research on the natives in Puerto Rico about 12 years ago. I discovered that the spanish, who were outnumbered and unprepared for their new environment, started giving "honorary white status" to any native who converted to catholoscism, or lived and cooperated with the spanish.

  • @sportsmarvel

Also, in late 1800's to early 1900's Puerto Rico was mostly black, from one census to another the population of blacks changed from 80% to 20%. You mentioned slavery, well most whites in Latin America arrived AFTER slavery. And this was because they no longer needed indians or blacks and wanted to recreate europe. Not only were spanish men outnumbered, but spanish women were definitely outnumbered. The pilgrims came with women, the latinos did not.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa

And again in the 1980's the population of blacks in Puerto Rico fell from 20 to 8% in one census. It only went back to 20% on the last census. Most people who are purely white are going to be descendants of recent immigrants. Puerto Rico is very different from Cuba where some whites isolated themselves from blacks.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa

It has been recently discovered that census takers weren't "making it" to black areas of puerto rico. According to dna testing, most people on the island fall into 1 of 4 groups: mostly black, mostly white, mulato, or tri-racial. No one was found to be mostly native (although there's a study claiming so), and very few people were found to be only european, or only black.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa Well I am no expert of Puertorico so I don't want to make anyone believe something that is not true. What I do encourage is that everyone do their own research and try to find out the truth for themselves. The video that I saw said 20% but I had read that the Afro Population was as high as 40% on the island of Puertorico. I did read somewhere that the island did have a lot of Africans & many white Laitnos complained that they introduced white immigration to the island.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa Here is the video that stated that 80% of Puerto Ricans were European or Spanish blood white. Numbers can always be disputed of course. The rest is 20% African or mixed. Just copy and paste the words below in youtube search bar.

    ......................

The real true Puerto Ricans !.......................

  • @whiner00

Actually, you have that backwards. In Latin America, where race lines are blurred, your race IS based upon your color, and not necessarily your actual lineage. Color is EVERYTHING! And yes there are a lot of "mixed" people in Puerto Rico and Brazil. But it is not embraced as much as one might think. Here in the U.S., "blacks" are actually defining themselves by ethnicity/culture and not color. Although the term black is used, it is just a synonym for african descendant.

  • @LaMariposaSedosa The one drop rule is something that racists and some Afro Americans have in common.

  • @This7is7my7Insanity

Yes, black is technically a color, which by the way, most "blacks" are not. However, you are Afro-descendant. I have family that appear to be vary white, but are actually mostly black, and dark family members who aren't as "black" as they look. Phenotype is just a roll of the dice.

  • Most Cubans and Puerto Ricans aren't black. There are mixed black in every country he mentioned, but there are white people too.

  • @BoboCarsi He's only talking about Afro-Latinos who don't claim to be black.

  • @AfroPrideTV I guess latinos in general are very connected to their very mix culture, strong afro roots. Black people in US has lost their Afro roots, their afro identitey taken by the english and they see that important to be called Afro-American or criate their own holiday like kuanzza or go to Africa to connect. Lantin Americans grow up in a culture that ambraces very much Afro culture and they see the world from a different point of view

  • @whiner00 Yeah I agree. It's good to know that Latino of African descent embrace their culture. The little African culture that Afro-Americans have have been integrated with white American culture. I Just found out recently that memorial day was invented by Afro-Americans in 1865, the same year slavery was abolish. All this time I was criticizing black folks for celebrating for what I thought at the time was a white holiday like the 4 of July.

  • @whiner00

Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

  • @BoboCarsi You are right, they are mostly native american.

  • @Dogmalix Most Latinos are white.

  • @AfroPrideTV

@dogmalix and bobocarsi, have either of you ever been to cuba, the DR or PR?? most of these dark, curly to kinky haired, large lips, large breast, large behind, flat fotted, big cheekbone, high foreheads...these people are clearly partafrican, and native american. spanish people do not look like caribbean or south american latins. the food and the music are just as african as soulfood and jazz. about 20% look like european spanish people.

  • @wutafiasco Yes I've been to those countries, and it's way more mixed than you said. The music is clearly spanish with an african beat, and most of the people are Lautner-colored with a variety of facial features and hair types. The word they use to describe them is 'habao'. And even if the African blood prevails in their physical appearance, the culture of the spaniards of food and family is at least 65% of their culture. Go to africa and you'll see the difference.

  • @wutafiasco Why do I need to visit Cuba, the D.R. or P.R. to see different races of people when millions of them live in the United States? I live in South Florida where there's a large Hispanic population. dark, curly to kinky haired, large lips, large breast, large behind, flat fotted, big cheekbone, high foreheads does not equal African or multiracial. Any race of people can have that. It's called genetics. Look up Japanese model Hitomi Tanaka with her natural 42H large breast.

  • @AfroPrideTV Uh,no. Most Latinos have Spaniard,African, &Indian blood in them. How they look is a toss up. How their kids look, even more so. Mexicans are usually more only Native and White mix, but still, it's a lottery. That's why Hispanics have over 16 words to describe race. Marc Anthony-colored husband with dark frizzy hair, beyonce-colored wife with curly light brown hair having 3 kids that look like Nick Jonas, Taj Mowry, and Taylor Lautner? Just a day in the life.

  • @Adronitis007 Most Latinos are white. There's over 200 million whites (Europeans and Arabs) living in Latin America. Countries that are predominately white are Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. Marc Anthony is white. Beyonce is Creole.

  • @AfroPrideTV I agree everything with this video but I disagree with you on Beyonce being Creole. Yes it is true her Grandmother was Creole, but Beyonce no. She is as multiracial as any other African American but then again what is your definition of Creole?

  • @o0R3stless0o My definition of Creole varies depending on what I'm talking about. Creole can mean food, language, name, culture, white people from Spanish speaking Latin American countries etc. Beyoncé's mother is a Louisiana Creole of French and Native American descent which make Beyoncé Creole as well.

  • @AfroPrideTV I see what you're saying. IMO I still consider her African American. My family is from Louisiana as well and they Speak "Creole". Beyonce doesn't speak Creole so I don't consider her Creole. Like I said, she is as multiracial as any other African American. Her father is not Creole. My grandfather dad was a french man and his mother was half/black half native. My point is even though we have all of these mixtures, we are all still black. All this division is stupid if u ask me..

  • @o0R3stless0o Of course Beyonce is Afro-American I'm not denying that however she's still Creole at the end of the day. Beyonce doesn't have to speak Creole to be Creole. Some U.S. born Hispanics don't speak Spanish but they still identify with the culture they grew up in. I'm a U.S. citizen born to Jamaican parents. My father is black and my mother is mixed. I don't speak Jamaican patois but I still identify as a Jamaican American. Not every Afro-American in the U.S. is mixed btw.

  • @Dogmalix agreed. idk who decided so many ppl from mexico, central & s. america weren't indigenous american b/c they speak spanish. the categories r completely screwed. if ur dark, speak spanish, & from DR, ur hispanic. but if ur dark, speak french(of a sorts), & from haiti -the same island- ur just regular ass negro? what kinda preindustrial era bullisht is that? 75% of slaves went to the caribbean & central or s. america. either we need new categories or we needa stop categorizing.

  • @BoboCarsi I agree. Are Gloria Estefan,Pitbull,Andy Garcia,Carlos Ponce,Marc Anthony,Jennefer Lopez black?

  • @QBRikan77 @QBRikan77 You don't get it. Mooney is only talking about Afro-Latinos who say they not black.

  • Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo Tito Puente... spanish people who actaully play spanish music....

where do you think the congo's came from?

do you know the names of the tribes that lived on the islands before slavery? do you know what they looked like? not like the dark brown and thick bodied people that live there today.

  • @ayaknowledgegod Yeah I agree, but I'm Hispanic and I'm listed as white by the US census, however I'm not considered white by the general public

  • Yeah He's a NIGGA alright..You can't live no bigger than you think..So if he thinks he's a Nigga, then he's a Nigga.....Hey DO YOU BOO BOO! LOL

  • @o0R3stless0o Not all Peurto Ricans are black, some are pure white or some are mixed with indian

  • @TheBigfranco1 true, but those are immigrants. even if some1's ancestry's purely spaniard, most spaniards during the colonial period would've been cosidered mixed race by american standards(considering the conquest of iberia by moors, imazighen, & arabs for over half a millenium). the issue is that islanders & mainlanders have diff standards for determining race. this is especially prombelmatic in pr b/c it affects how they recieve funding from & their relationship with the u.s.

  • @ayaknowledgegod no they wouldn't of..... stop bullshiting, Spaniards were considered white in colonial America... as in the modern USA by the British, they were just considered lesser whites the same goes for the Irish and the French.

  • @sangreafrolatino i meant by today's US standards. b4 the mid 20th century, a lot of ppl were called white -including many blacks, asians, & indigenous ppls- who wouldn't be called white today. census takers have historically had issues classifying boricuas & others in the caribbean b/c they don't see themselves as fitting into the specific categories that some americans have set. as a result, many ppl classify themselves as other. btw, i study this for a living.

  • @Kemiztri Wow you're fucking troll with no life. I seen your ignorant comments all over youtube post dumb shit. Go fuck yourself stupid ass spic. Where's your videos huh? Stop trolling people. I know in real life you wouldn't dare in your fucking life walk up in peoples face talking shit like your doing on youtube. You'll get knock the fuck out. I'm BLOCKING your puss ass for trolling. I have zero tolerance for trolls post dumb shit on my page. Take your troll ass elsewhere faggot!

  • this dude is so dumb

  • @1990mrgoodnight How is "this dude" you say is dumb when he's speaking the truth?

  • @1990mrgoodnight KISS KISS GURL XOXOXO U REDDY FOR MY LUV? CUM

  • Hey look, I found some more assholes comment-fighting in the "Comment" section of the video... do you guys do that in real life?

  • im filipino, jamaican (black) and on my pinay side i have japanese and spanish blood..but i consider myself BLACK

  • im sorry to all of you out there that might get offended

i am half puerto rican half dominican and i consider my self mix. not black

i dont like to hear from other people the if your someone in your family is black then your black bull shit.

i cant just put aside my ancestors from spain aside.

this is why i perfer saying im mixed .

  • @GTYmassive Okay I get your half Puerto Rican half Dominican however what are you genetically?

  • @AfroPrideTV to be honest i can't say am white or black because we are all mixed. therefore i cant say am black only.

  • @GTYmassive Your generalizing. Not all Latinos are mixed. I know Latinos that are white, black, Native American, East Asian, and multiracial. I saw a Chinese Peruvian guy at my collage years ago speaking Spanish.

  • @AfroPrideTV i know not every latino is mixed but i speaking for myself.

  • @GTYmassive This video is not about you or any mixed race Latino. This video is about black Latinos who don't know their black.

  • @GTYmassive You can say you are Mulatto or Quadroon. The Spanish Caste system had it as part of the possibilities. Gente de razon which were the Southern European Spanish y Gente sin Razon which were the mixed people Mulattoes and Quadroons. You can look it up if you like. If you say you are Hispanic or Latino then you are also saying that you are part of a Casta system created by the Spanish. Their is also the Clasista which is different classes depending on wealth. Igualado

  • @GTYmassive This is what Paul Mooney was addressing. You don't want to fully accept that you have black blood. Genetically you may be whatever mix you want to claim, however society notices your looks. And if you look black, you're black. Yeah they might be able to see that there's some other stuff in you, but they will categorize you as black.

  • @badtzpanda What does the ignorant society have to do with what one is genetically mixed with? I know how society views me but does that mean it's the full truth? And how is he not accepting he has black blood? He said he was mixed with black but he also has Spanish ancestry. Does he have to reject his Spanish ancestry to please and satisfy you people? Get off your one drop rule bullshit. -.-

  • @BoriGuANiCA He's talking about Afro-Latinos who say they aren't black.

  • @MegaWinnieGirl I know that. I was responding to another commenter who was on that one drop rule BS! I don't agree with that.

  • @GTYmassive as far as the goverment is concerned your black

  • @lyricalapocalypse89 okay lol what ever you say seriously i will not be replying back to ever comment i see, I know what i am you all dont understand i know that many people feel like me and that's it. you might think that it's ignorant but its not.

  • @GTYmassive lol im not trying to clown you by any means im just saying we get treated the same by the justice system so thats why your "black" get it?

  • @lyricalapocalypse89 yeah i get it and its unfair. in the u.s they all ways make a big issue about race. i have dark skin and white parents but they still want to calling me black. look at mixed celebs like alicia keys and mariah they are still refered as african americans. i feel proud of being mixed this is why i cant say am only black or white.

  • @GTYmassive So what are you mixed with? Are you half black? Are you mulatto?

  • @GTYmassive So you are Mulatto then or Zambo.

  • @GTYmassive Cosign. One drop rule mentality is retarded. Mixed people aren't black or white therefor we shouldn't have to pick a side.

  • @bamigogy12345, I'm sorry that your mind continues to frolic through a field of phantasy but Mooney is telling you like it T-I-S.

  • If you are going to question Afro-latinos integrity then why don't you question many many other latinos for example the white latinos with European ancestry, there latino status is never questioned?! Afro-Latinos are some of the most proudest latin americans they built the very Latin America we see today.

  • @bamigogy12345 I do question white Latinos integrity but I focus on the African diaspora. That's what my channel is about. I know a lot of Afro-Latinos are proud of their African roots however there plenty full of Afro-Latinos mostly from the U.S. don't acknowledge their African heritage. There worst then the white Latinos IMO.

  • @bamigogy12345 latin americans are very proud people but there's no denying that collectively there is a lot of shame and denial of african ancestry amongst latinos.

  • @ERGSEG no, there isn't stop generalizing.. come to cuba or the pacific of colombia and you'll see that's not how it is.

  • @sangreafrolatino deny all you want. You're only fooling yourself. And I don't mean every latino on the planet, there are latinos who admit that african heritage. But you're a blind fool if you don't believe that many black latinos have issues with their african heritage.

  • Yep, they're black people with an identity crisis.

  • @sweethotcandy29 This argument is soooooooooo myopic and down right bloody annoying! Latin America has a fabulous diverse history and latin americans come in all colours. Get your bloody stupid sub-consciously imperious minds over that.

  • @bamigogy12345

"Latin America has a fabulous diverse history and latin americans come in all colours. Get your bloody stupid sub-consciously imperious minds over that."

And is that what you say to racist latinos? If you do, that's great. And I have to correct you on something. Imperialism is having slaves identify with their slave masters.

  • the bible said it..the true hebrews would be scattered among all nations, never to see israel again, sent abroad by ship with a yoke of iron around his neck..we would be looked at with shame and be made to speak languages that aint ours and religeons we never new, even worshiping wood and stone( crosses, statues) wake up ppl, the bible is talking about us, not the converts living in israel now..look it up
