This guys a tool, everything was good up until the part where he says go to the site and download the new driver, obviously if i knew what my driver was called i would most likely know how to update it

What about re-installation of the drivers? Could I just re-run the .exe?
Also, a good tip is to check the md5 sums of the downloaded files (if they are noted on the manufacturer's website that is).
Doing so will significantly reduce the chance of you running corruptly downloaded drivers.
I myself use the portable version of winMd5Sum, works like a charm!
