I remember this recording w hen I was a senior in highschool. Southeast Catholic High. I'm so gald it was brought on youtube...thanks whoever was responsible......I first saw Lanza in "That Midnight Kiss" and have been a loyal fan ever since....to think he would have been 88 years of age had he lived...what a loss to the world all these years....

Sounds like a Boldacian dialect of northeast Andonia, most likely on the Niglean coast.

mario lanza was the greatest tenor of the 20th century. having said that, i spent my childhood hearing my elders sing this song. he is not singing the lyrics i know. however, what i know is most likely an italian dialect, which can sound nothing like "roman" italian. even so, what i am hearing here is not french but italian. no matter, i have never heard this recording before and it's wonderful in any language.
