Those last lines of the song really can't be said any better.

I'm so happy orphaned land started to taste ayahuasca hehe. Two last albums are so in tune with the entire world compared to where they started.

Don't really know where you get metal gear solid to fit in, have you listened closely to the lyrics?

@superduperfriend well, "Brave souls art thou whom tread the darkness in thy never ending way" that part and the spoken part that follows in particular just made me think of the trilogy. Dunno why, or how, but it just did. When you think about it, the whole series is about Snake and Big Boss trying to break the chains that bind them and ultimately find that peace they've longed for, not just for themselves, but for the world. So to me, somehow it made sense.

@mermerciless I am with you on that one, it actually makes me think of Metal Gear Solid for some odd reason now, probably because I just finished MGS3: Snake Eater, but seriously, the spoken piece at the end is one of the more powerful ones I've heard in forever. This song is simply beautiful.
