Truely and sincerely, I love the (average quality) live version here on YouTube. This (great quality) version attempts to combine upbeat and melancholy, and it doesn't work for me. Take the sax: it can be used for either style, but not the mixture. Have a listen to the other version (1985), and tell me what you think. This one is too busy once you've heard the other one.

I should imagine that Nils Lofgren could do a good version on his own, but I've never heard anyone else try to do this song. If I were any sort of proper musician I'd try though! It doesn;t sound tricky to play, just beautiful.
