For all the people bashing this cover, I thought it was pretty good. I mean, Alex's singing is a little off (understandably), but it sounded great. Singing live is hard, especially after doing a whole set, and people need to realize that a cover isn't supposed to sound exactly like the original and whoever's singing it should have some creative freedom, like speeding up the tempo.

Anyways, that's my two cents worth.

I wanted to give it a chance but these guys fell into the common cover trap of speeding up the tempo and calling it a day. She was better than him but she had a bit more range for one. Also it sounded like she new the song alot better than he did... missed the mark.

Sorry I don't sound like Felicia Day. I wasn't trying to. I'm of the opinion that covers shouldn't sound like the originals, so even if people have different vocal styles than the people who sang it first, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't do your own thing with it. Whether you like it or not is your deal.

Except for the fact that dude couldn't stay on the mic, this is one of the better covers I've seen. It seems to me that the tempo was a little off. Or maybe that's just because of your different style. I'm not sure. But given that it was live, and that live is never perfect, this was great.

I'm not a musician at all, but i'll tell you what i think about this.

This is (i think) a VEY DIFFICULT song to sing (2 voices, with parts together, ect)

I found it really bad. I've seen some covers of this song on youtube, and i'm sorry to tell you so, this one was the worse...

Girl: You keep missing notes. It kind of sounds like you're yelling it. You're flat. Taking the song slower would help a lot. This song is almost ballad like. It's suppose to not only convey Dr. Horrible's anger to the world, but Penny's joy. Her voice needs to have a sense of hope and a bit of being smitten to it, which is something that's pretty hard to achieve that quickly. Jst don't make it so aggressive.

It would really help you to have a much more solid sound. You sound whispy. It needs to be a bit more full voice. The girl does a pretty good job with this, so it makes the song seem somewhat backwards. Normally the guy needs to have the fuller sound.

When the duet hits, you kind of start sounding like an angsty emo. :) (Check out The Emo Song to get what I mean)

I am constantly improving my game... I practice for hours every day because I love playing guitar and singing. But it is definitely really fun taking my anger out on people who have nothing better to do than to harrass me on YouTube... it's way more productive than bottling it up because then it might accidentally end up in the direction of people who don't deserve it.
