The reason why todays young peope have to go to college to get some kind of degree is because they are finding that they have to compete with their own dang parents (the baby boomers) for jobs. Older men and women, silent generation and The Greatest Generation ran the economy and politcs during the recession of the '70s. The Baby Boom (1945-1964) was a HUGE generation, while your video was good, it mostly focuses on those born from 1950-1957 IMO. Early Baby Boomers, like my parents (dad was born in 47, mom was born in 48), were a part of the American Graffiti/Happy Days generation, dabbled a bit in hippie stuff as young adults, but were part of the last largely traditional generation. Meanwhile, my oldest sister, born in 1964, and my dad's youngest brother, born in 1960, were 70s teens (think "That 70s Show).

But I gotta agree that the Greatest Generation (born in the 00s, 10s, and early 20s) definitely earned its name. Some older members of the socalled Silent Generation, like those born before 1930, could be lumped in with them. Many kids as young as 13 would lie about their age just to fight in the war. Stark contrast to today.
