I wish someone would take the tyrian licence and use it to make a new game. The setting, the music both would translate nicely to a modern game. But even 3D space flight sims aren't very successful these days so I'd doubt it will happen.

@animerox1341 i used to play a game in my sega dreamcast.. i got it in my draw.. it was great.. but really hard to finish.... hikaruga?..... i think that if they make a really interesting game like tyrian but with interesting options like.. change to cockpit view.. that would be great!!.. todays games are all about shooting with a gun to people in iraq or zombies...

I have always wondered what makes this game music so intense and immersive, so much you can feel being Trent Hawkins staring to the deep black space out of his cockpit... when you hear those, man, i almost have fake memories of being out there fighting microsol.

Yeah, same for me. Usually when it games you only hear a track or two that you really like, and the rest are decent. For some reason, with Tyrian, there's a whole bunch of songs that just have amazing composition and melody to them.

Not to mention that they're incredibly catchy.

@ZycaLaser If you want to see how the song is build up, I recommend you to download the MIDI version of this song, you can find it by googling it. Then use Synthesia, a keyboard program which shows MIDI paths simplified. YOu can use it for inspiration and how to play it, if you want to. :)

I think of dr who theme everything I hear this song, but man this are two massive songs. Especially Dr. Who, it was made in 1963! I just can't imagine anyone was able to make that sort of music.

@timbo81 DOSBox is not very good. You can play Tyrian 2.1 with OpenTyrian, Tyrian 2000 GBC on VBA and there was another program that was better at playing Tyrian 2000 for PC

@timbo81 "DoS" means "Denial of Service"; "DOS" means "Disk Operating System". Notice the casing of the separate acronyms...just to clear that up.

the TYRIAN-logo can be read upside down and normal way, so funny.

best weapon system: zica laser + 2x zica supercharger +guided micro bombs= you don't even see the enemies before they explode^^
