@HowardCitizen it’s not the fact that tebow is religious as much as he tries to force it down everyone else’s throats. . he should not be using his fame as a promotional tool fro christianity. can you imagine the outrage if a muslim football player was so outspoken about his faith. .
I bet Jesus is all crazy about footbal!! I remember, back in Israel, he loved the gladiatoral games.... His favorite team was Christians, but they usually lost to the LIONS!
Tim Tebow is a great person, but it's ridiculous the amount of hype he gets as being a below average QB. This season he has the 4th lowest completion percentage EVER in a season, but is getting more hype than Drew Brees, who has the most passing yards ever in a season.
@theCHR1Sg But that's somewhat obvious. Tebow is a guy who came in with everyone saying "no way he's going to get drafted in the 1st; no way he's going to start; no way he's going to win any games; no way he's going to go to the playoffs." And he keeps achieving each one. I think the media definitely goes full retard way too much after everything Tebow does, though. As for Brees: everyone expects a veteran like that to tear it up and his numbers and records have gotten plenty of attention.
@gatorhighlights4 It's somewhat obvious that a QB who has the 4th lowest completion percentage ever is getting more hype than a QB who has the most yards in a season? Explain that.
@theCHR1Sg I did in my previous post. Tebow was expected not to be drafted in the 1st, let alone start, let alone get to the playoffs. His style of play was thought not to be compatible for an NFL team and yet it has worked. He's fairly new on the scene. That storyline is going to get a lot of attention. Brees is a veteran QB and people expect him to play well. It's really more a testament to Brees than Tebow. I think you're putting too much weight on the hype anyway. The media always does this.
@theCHR1Sg Think of it this way: when you say there's no way in hell someone is going to pull something off and they do, that draws more attention than when you're confident someone is going to do something and they do.
@gatorhighlights4 But still, he has had a bad season. More turnovers than TD passes and the 4th lowest completion percentage ever. Therefore I don't believe he has proved anything in the NFL yet. He played great in a playoff game, but that doesn't overshadow his terrible season passing
@gatorhighlights4 I saw this and couldn't help but to eat it up. You're saying that Tim Tebow is good because he is bad but because he beats good teams, he is good. Reality is McGahee and the D stepped up. Tebow had an awful year for a QB. If Colt McCoy is on a short leash than Tebow should be out of the NFL.
@theCHR1Sg Our conversation was about why he gets attention. It had nothing to do with me saying he was good because he was bad. Maybe next time you should do your best to "help but eat it up." That or work on your reading comprehension.
@theCHR1Sg Right. He passed for more yards on the 1st rated defense in the league than anyone. When someone who has struggled in many games and people said can't pass for shit does that, he is going to get attention. I really don't think we're in disagreement. The entire question was why does Tebow get attention? My answer was that when a guy that everyone picks not to even be drafted in the 1st round gets to the 2nd round of the playoffs after beating a top ranked defense, he will get attention
@gatorhighlights4 Despite what he did against the Steelers, he had a bad season. And he deserves to get as much credit as his numbers suggest. And don't say he's getting attention from the Steelers game. He got hype way before then.
This is a bush league demonstration of a cheap shot by five (5) alleged professionals who should know better. It isn't funny. It's a disparaging act which demeans a man and his faith.
Grow up JB, Dan, Bill, Shannon and Boomer. You should be ashamed.
Imagine the outrage that would have occurred if these clowns at CBS Sports were talking about a Muslim football player and they all got down on prayer rugs and bowed towards Mecca. They all would have been out of jobs within 24 hours. Yet it's perfectly acceptable for them to mock a Christian football player's exhibition of his faith.

They all would have been out of jobs within 24 hours. Yet it's perfectly acceptable for them to mock a Christian football player's exhibition of his faith.
@HowardCitizen - I say its acceptable to mock both, they're both delusional. Even if Jesus was real, and I doubt it. Do you think he would give a fuck about a football game. He'd probably be caught up in trying to feed starving children would be my guess. As a Christians you probably don't think about the impotence of God as much as me, but I don't really think God exists either.
Every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. They'll do it at their desk or after death, but they will be doing that for real someday.
Anyone think it's weird that he passed for 316 yards that game, and his passing average was 31.6 yards? Because he always has John 3:16 on his face. That's pretty pro.
People that focus on his Christianity instead of his terrible throwing motion and inability to throw a spiral are retarded. I don't like him because I really think hes pretty bad... What I've seen (aside from the Chiefs game) is that he is SO inaccurate that teams tend to do a prevent defense later in the game in order to stop the run game. He can't complete a pass to save his life in Man to Man because of his accuracy problems. Play man to man the entire game and hell get no more then 60 yards.
@bigdkr Ya, then he just runs and gains 5-10 yards. You need a QB spy as well, and you damn well better be sure that your DB's won't get burnt. He's not the best quarterback, but he could be A LOT worse.
@arkivx1 I'm an avid football fan. Don't need to play to differentiate a 1 hit wonder from a baller. Were you an actual student of the game you'd be able to tell as well.
@2010GOP It's not 'fine'. I did watch the game, the reason he won was the O line, Ben's injury, and sub-par corner play. If you think Tebows throwing motion is fine you aren't football literate.
@2010GOP You seem to have forgotten to talk about his throwing motion in a positive manner. All but the last of your comments were from NCAA which doesn't mean shit in the NFL. The last of which can easily be attributed to running the option with a mobile QB, not giving up the ball in your own redzone (which is a playcalling change), and having a strong defense.Let's watch how he does against the pats today shall we? After this he will not be a starting QB so this is the only chance we get.
@bigdkr You idiot, you clearly didn't watch the game. They were playing man-to-man and what happened. Something like 316 yards? Oh man. Against the #1 pass defense in the NFL? Holy cow, you ignorant idiots just need to open your eyes and accept, Tim Tebow may end up being a decent QB....
@MrBBizzy23 It just shows how much better the KC defense is under Romeo. Also the Steelers were extremely hurt at the corner postion; Which matters the most in a man to man. The Chiefs will easily take afc west next year. Once teams get wise to the option the Broncos will finish last. He will not be starting for anyone in 2 years.
its funny how one christian guy who says himself that God couldnt care less about a football game, but just thanks God for the opportunity he has been given, receives so much hate, when its the media that makes it overbearing. You could have a gangbanger, a Buddhist, a sex offender, you name it out there, and no one could really give a shit. But one strong christian out there that THE MEDIA makes overbearing, spending countless hours on him, and all the haters come out. classy guys
@livingdoughnut123 I agree, it's completely ridiculous. People talk about religious equality and stuff, but in the same breath they throw a fit about Christians expressing their beliefs. I doubt anyone was actually offended by Tebow....they probably just have nothing better to do than cry about it!
@livingdoughnut123 It's because of the media that Tebow is so popular. He has become the ultimate underdog story in which people can't help not to want to see him do good. The game was the most watched AFC wildcard game in 24 years!!!! People were looking up John 316 like crazy after the game. Tebow is without a shadow of a doubt the most popular Christian figure in this country period.
