  • ...and this video is a perfect example of why it's necessary to take ballet before you try to do any other kind of dance. just because you're doing modern doesn't mean you don't need technique. you look terrible!

  • fix your arms...dont wind up thats not how you use the arms

  • Pronounced: Dev-lop-pay not De-vel-lop-pay

  • cool this will help me with my project. i have to dance in front of the class o.o wish me luck

  • um.. i dont want 2 do modern dance no more

  • i have a question. i am on the varsty team at my school and we got a summer log. in it they have a develope front side and back. how can i do that?

  • @ivy14 For a develope to the front (or develope devant), lift the leg to passe, then straighten it forward. If it's ballet, be careful to keep your turnout, because some dancers have a tendency to move the leg to parallel while straightening it. For develope to the side(or develope a la seconde), lift to passe, then move your lower leg until your leg is straight, careful to keep turnout. For develope to the back (develope derriere), straighten your leg into an arabesque. I hope this helps.

  • Learn how to pronounce develope, straighten knee in develope, open up chest in layout, don't "wind up" into your turn....Modern doesn't mean lazy technique. sorry

  • why don't you put up videos since you're so great?

  • really helpful thanks!

i'm coregraphing a dance at my schol and will deffinetly use some of these moves!
