I bloated up my iMac G3/600 (1GB Ram; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM) with software and it still beats my HP Media Center PC (2.13GHz Core2Duo, 2GB Ram; Two 250GB HDD @ 7200 RPM).

But when I load OSx86 on the same HP, it boots just about the same as my iMac G3.

Apple seems to work magic all the time, huh?

It certainly lets me run iTunes, Firefox, and Classic Apps, Cabos, and even BitTorrent all at the same time.

Though, I would never expect it to do any wonders with anything video-related, most especially with Flash animations/video and Javascript-rich websites.

I'd like to get my hands on an old copy of Photoshop CS or even CS 2 just to see how that'll run. But Gimpshop (an open source alternative to photoshop) works perfectly with it... not too laggy. :-)

the imac g3 does play video really well. the latest imac g3 have a 16 mb video chip/card or something, but because i have an imac g3 and you-tube videos most of the time run pretty smooth. sometimes it goes a little choppy but yeah.

I was trying to be nice...but seriously you're an idiot...it wouldnt let you put the setting to 1680x1050 if there aren't that many pixels...because it's impossible...yes, you CAN set it to a lower resolution, because there are more than enough pixels to handle it. I'm not sure you understand the concept of what resolution is. try changing your macbook pro to 1440x900, i bet it will look more crisp, that is, unless you actually do own an older model that did not yet feature 1440x900 res.

the screen resolution, in this case 1680x1050 doesn't have ANYTHING TO DO WITH HOW BIG THE MONITOR IS...it is the number that represent HOW MANY PIXELS THERE ARE ON THE SCREEN. So, yes, my 22" dell monitor AND my 15.4" dell laptop screen both have the same number of pixels, 1680x1050 even though they are different sizes.

i do know what resolution is, im talking about the recommended default resolution setting. which is 1280x800 for my laptop, if i go higher than that the screen is streched out and the icons are much much too small. so if you want tiny icons and tiny text then use 1920 x 1200 on a laptop screen, i just dont see the point

Okay, yes, it is true that images may be distorted if you set your resolution to one that is not the same aspect ratio as your screen, but in my case, my dell laptop and monitor are both 16:10 wide screen which is the same aspect ratio as 1680 by 1050 resolution, so there is no distortion here. and who says that small icons are bad anyway? What if i like my icons small and crystal clear? if you dont set your lcd at native resolution then the picture gets a little fuzzy, too.

you're all retards... You don't need good hardware to make boot faster, you need good software. Mac and Windows are both crappy. Use any linux distro with linuxBIOS and your computer will boot and get to the shell within 6 to 10 seconds, just look it up on youtube...
