I don't know if anyone else notice's this, but male belly dancers tend to roll their stomachs a lot better than female belly dancers.

Women and men's abdominal muscles are pretty much the same. If you watch Rachel Brice's videos, you can see that she can isolate her ob muscles like Orgune. They just trained and exercised their muscles, that's all...

Asena is a very famous Tyrkish dancer, and this piece of music is named Warda on her CD "Asena" and the componist is supposed to be anonymous. The whole compilation is very good, I'll recommend it.

Lol. The stomache movement is called a Belly Roll, and is often a sought after technique in Belly Dancing. Some folks are amazed by the dexterity shown in the movement, whilst others are sometimes left feeling a bit squeamish! It does wonders for your digestion though! ;)

As a male dancer, myself, I can say that Dance is not a gender Art form but more like a SPIRIT ART FORM to become one with God. Body movement to music is am expression of oneself to a higher power. While many sing, or write to express THEIR passion, some of us dance. Any dancer knows that when we dance, we forget the outside world and we are more in tune to our spirit. It's a natural high, close to heaven. So as a male dancer, I APPLAUD this man, it's not easy to do this type of dance.

Not really. It is was and always has been a social dance that has evolved over the years and has always been done by both sexes. The version we see on stage was created in the 1930s for the tourist industry with the specific intent of entertaining a male audience. That is the main reason why you usually don't see guys doing it on stage.
