Old rebel saying: Boys when you run out of bullets kill another Yankee with yer ramrod. With attitudes like that be glad they didn't have the manufacturing base the North had.
@JettRink50 No, it wasn't. The lyrics to this song were written by James Innes Randolph, a Confederate veteran who died in 1887. The melody is the old Irish tune "Joe Bowers."
@domcplnc lol WTF ethnocentric enough??? muslims are on par with everyone else. unreconstructed referring to the middle east? try never constructed and not going to be for a long time. lol wow ur comment is ridiculous hate muslims much?
When you think about what the guy who sings this song actually says, it tends to sound kind of sad. Makes me feel bad for not just confederate soldiers. But anybody who's ever lost a war before. Anywhere, ever.
"Madam, don't bring up your sons to detest the United States Government. Recollect that we form one country now. Abandon all these local animosities, and make your sons Americans." - Robert E. Lee
@mmm413 I've heard that and believe it to be true. I know he has written so many songs, was a great performer, an actor, and wonderful storyteller. It bothers me to see comments on him being a "country singer". He wrote the Pusher, Joy to the World, Snowblind, Greenback Dollar, and Lightning Bar Blues (which I thought Woodie or Arlo wrote!) and so many other songs. He was a National Treasure!
