  • so how much are these babys costing these days?

  • force fx light sabers are better

  • LOL!!! In which category are they better?

They are dimmer than a 3 Watt Luxeon which means a Hyperblade is nearly 10 times brighter, their blades are perminately attached, the hilts are only based on movie hilts and they are oversized and not accurate, the sound is generic, not loud at all, and gets repeated in every saber. They are cheap, which is why they only cost around $100.

So which category to they win?

  • @jedibum Aye, hyperblades are way brighter, but I couldnt help but notice you pointing out they are cheap.. how is that a bad thing?

  • I think you misunderstand. I've never said Hyperblades are cheap, to the contrary in fact ... they cost a pretty penny. It's Hasbro/Master Replicas FX sabers that are cheap. That's what we were talking about ... not Hyperblades.

  • Im sorry, I typed unclearly. What I meant is that its not a bad thing that the FX/hasbro sabers are cheap. Infact, thats a good thing imo. :)

  • I see what you meant. I actually agree with you. It's not a bad thing. The low price alows many people to get a, who don't want to spend hundreds, to get a functioning saber. I was just trying to explain why Hyperblades are so much brighter ... because a lot more money is put into the electronics.

  • Of course, and I get your point. As I said, I just wanted to point out that the sabers being cheap, is a good thing.

  • @jedibum Hypderdyne sabers are nice, but don't they have the LED strip like the FX sabers? I mean, they're nice for show, but they aren't duel worthy, right?

  • @DarthRevan2142 No, The LED strip in the blade makes the saber far more delicate. If one goes out, you have a whole bunch of dark spots. The lights going out is caused by dueling. On Hyperblades, there is no worry for LEDs to go out. There is only one, extremely bright light at the bottom. Who would even want to duel with the FX sabers? They're too heavy.

  • @johtohoennfan45 Actually that's wrong. Hyper blades have a scrolling effect, and dueling with FX sabers isn't half bad since I use my Vader for dueling. So since the Hyper blades have the scrolling effect, they in fact have an LED strip just like the FX sabers. Where as if it was just one uber bright LED, say a Seoul P4, it wouldn't have a scrolling effect, it would either dim or just completely shut off when the saber is powered down. I've in fact seen a hyper blade with dead spots.

  • @DarthRevan2142 The solder holding the LEDs in place in the Force FX sabers are very weak and break easily, that's the problem. These are all hand soldered (I presume) You have to be a crazy dueling enthusiast to kill a Hyperblade. Besides, Hyperblades are stronger.

  • were you expecting a real lightsaber?...

  • What's fake about it?

  • where are purple hyperblades available? they aren't on the site

  • You can get one if you e-mail them with a special request.

  • really? sweet thanks dude!

  • NICE FLICKER

  • BEAUTIFUL purple saber. I love this color of saber but I simply cannot find a good solution for this color in luxeon. It's always a filtered color and always a bit dim.

Your blade looked like it had a few darker spots towards the hilt. You might have a few LED in there that need replacing or fixing.

  • Yeah, I've tried some purple filters with the P4 but nothing comes out looking the way I want it to look. I'll check the blade and see if any leds are out.
