Justin isn't bragging about being humble, you idiots, he's just answering questions and participating in the interview. A lot of people harp on about how he's arrogant just because he's good, so he's just telling it like it is: you guys haven't met him and don't know shit about him. Meet him in person, strike up a convo with him and gauge is personality from there. If you can't be bothered, then keep your mouth shut and let him rep us in these tournies like he has been for the past ten years.
Eddie Lee was my all time rival. You can't speak of Chinatown Fair and not give daps to th NY Legend of the game. Yeah, Justin rules in the 2000 deca, but the 90's belong to Eddie, me and him met up repeatedly in philly as the last match. He beat me in 3 tournaments i can remember. His stategy was to hit you with 1 level 3 combo from a mk cancel. and infinite combos with Ibuki. But Greats get old and become legends.
There could be a number of factors. Be lucky enough to have rich parents to give you w/e you want. They actually have a job and play when they're not working. They're actually really good like this guy and make money by winning tournaments.
But still, how are SF players broke when they have the countless quarters to spend at arcades? I was broke as hell and had to play SF2 on SNES.
Yah I guess you're right to some extent ... Man, but I hate how much respect is given to Justin Wong or some of the Street Fighter pro gamers .... There's amazing players from arcades around the world who don't even attend these tourneys ... The only pro gamers I respect are Star Craft pro gamers, because you can play Star Craft 24 hours a day, and it doesn't mean you will be top 100 .... P.S. MvC 2 is a scrub game, no wonder Daigo stays clear from MvC 2 tourneys ....
Yeah I agree man. There is A LOT of hidden talent out there that people don't know about. The thing about Starcraft is that it's an old game. People have been playing it for 10 years. You'd have to play it 24 hours a day if you want to be top 100. Or you'd have to live in korea and play it 24 hours a day because that's where you'll get good enough people where you can improve. I bet If I lived in Japan and played SF4 there and came back, I'd be the shit around where I'm at.
sorry to knock you on this one, but you know very little about Star Craft pro gaming .... a lot of foreigners have lived in Korea and joined Korean teams, but they still can't reach top 50 in Korea at all ... and these foreigners play 24/7 but still can't be as good, because it's really about skills and true strategy, and definitely not about who puts more hours or studies more ....
I don't mind, I just speak on a general standpoint. I never played Starcraft before but I know koreans who do play. The thing is, skills and true strategy are gained through playing more. Anyone can be anything if they put their mind to it. It's not like Daigo was the best at street fighter the second he started playing. Koreans play Starcraft religiously so of course they're going to be better than a foreigner especially when a foreigner didn't grow up playing it like they did.
LOL! that's true a helcopter couldn't even make it to Japan. Haters are everywhere when you're on top. I respect you Justin, however your behavior at the SF4 tourney against Poongko was very immature
justin, how are you man? i remember you when you were about 14 in chinatown fair. you were starting to get better in marvel vs. capcom 1 when you started beating eddie lee and then in part 2, then you just took off! hope you are doing well! maybe you'll remember me if you see my videos!
Capcom is making a killing simply from people wanting to be tournament pros. Truth is, very few people can live even having a part time job playing in tournaments. Capcom doesn't care as they are selling plenty with their logo all over it!! Maybe 5-10 people in all of the US can make a living on gaming, the rest have to have real jobs and cant dedicate 8 hours a day to getting better.
i wish i could play in more tourneys like justin but i've been in college. i wonder if he plans to do the same.
And about bringing video games to a more entertaining level, i dont know about that. I saw this tourney for DOA on youtube and all the trash talk and stuff actually made it look bad.
but I think the sbo in japan does a really good job of what justin is talking about

Think about this; he lives in a Manhattan apartment, he's got enough money to sit on his ass, he's got talent, and he travels the world.
Lots of girls don't give a shit about looks and if they do, many don't prioritize it.
Not to mention, as hefty as he is, he's got New York swag.
I'd bet dude gets more ass than you. Without having to eat the pussy.

True but the thing is people are still pros and have a job anyway just because thier job itself
SSEMPPhilBOi 2 years ago
its true because there is not that many top players you see often alot
its less than 10 right now
names that recognizeable
and those names are the ones usually always winning the top places
the top places are the only ones that actually get money
nobody gets money for getting elimanted in the first round
its good to see sf4 getting hype
but capcom is a huge company, and what do huge companies do........make money
