according to another youtuber, who is currently pregnant as well (mahoganyknots), thicker hair is normal. in her video, she explains that there is less shedding during the pregnancy, which is why its so thick but after the baby is delivered your hair should begin shedding the way it normally does.
she's been pregnant before and seems to be pretty experienced lol

Is shrinkage a sign of poor hair health? My hair was very spiral curled, think spring like. If stretched they would bounce back far. My hair is maybe 4 inches longer but the curls are a little straighter like S like. Is this a result of poor hair health or texture change from growth?

I'm not in the norm b/c during both of my pregnancies, I would shed like crazy all throughout! It didn't bother me though b/c I believe it was growing rather healthy also and slightly thicker.
I would recommend that you do a juicing plan so that after you have your baby you will retain the extra nutrients needed to keep the hair and nails super healthy as they are now! Alexis K Tylor have very good juicing plans on her page!

I was so sick the first trimester with my 1st child. With my 2nd child, I wasn't sick at all. A lot of people's hair sheds after they have the baby but mine didn't. Also, my hair texture changed. The curls got looser. Every pregnancy is different even for the same person. Hope your birthing experience is blessed and wonderful. Love your videos and congrats. Put your feet up and take it easy! Oh, BREAST FEED. The baby weight will fall off fast.

I am six months post delivery and I believe since I'm still nursing my daughter and taking the prenatal pills and all that I have maintained my hair thickness & long strong nails. I already had thick hair but pregnancy really added to it. I don't miss the morning sickness when I was pregnant-I swear I think I stayed next to the toilet. lol Everything would trigger the morning sickness-getting up to fast,smells,just eating would have me going. lol. Oh how i wish i was 37wks!!! Im only 25wks (with my 1st) and am sooooo fed up!! Ive always had thick hair but have noticed a slight difference. Congrats!! If you can, ask your Dr. to note your hormone levels. When you get older and want that 'glow', thick hair and long strong nails, you'll want to know what your hormones levels were. I sure wish I'd thought to ask what mine were. My skin was beautiful and my hair and nails were like no other time in my life!! Enjoy your new family!

congrats! after 6 months of being preggo i broke out badly, my skin got darker and child,my ankles! lol i didnt have much sickness but my hair grew longer and nails grew stronger as well..... at first i thought i was allergic to pregnancy lol. but hormones are definitely different for every woman.

Congrats to you!!! This video is so on time. I too am pregnant and straightened my hair for the first time in 7 months! OMG!!! My hair is thick and down my back. Now, I know my hair will lose some of that thickness after I give birth and I'm fine with that because my hair's naturally thick. However, I do not wish to lose my length!

Congrats! I loved my hair during pregnancy. I don't remember excessive shedding, but that was years ago so I probably didn't pay attention.

Congrats!! If you can, ask your Dr. to note your hormone levels. When you get older and want that 'glow', thick hair and long strong nails, you'll want to know what your hormones levels were. I sure wish I'd thought to ask what mine were. My skin was beautiful and my hair and nails were like no other time in my life!! Enjoy your new family!

congrats! after 6 months of being preggo i broke out badly, my skin got darker and child,my ankles! lol i didnt have much sickness but my hair grew longer and nails grew stronger as well..... at first i thought i was allergic to pregnancy lol. but hormones are definitely different for every woman.
