Official canon goes, the Imperials and Eldar owned the Disorder forces, Gorgutz escaped, but not before he killed Crull and took his skull. If you play as Chaos in Dark Crusade and take the Ork stronghold, the skull would be avaliable to you to sacrifice to Khorne and gain his favor

orks are always used this way, kryptman, crull, numerous chapter masters and generals, eldar, and chaos. all use orks as a tool to fight their battles. gorgutz however, will break the chain and kill in a massive and endless waaagh!

@darkprophet1629 - Most Ork warbosses probably know perfectly well they're being used to fight someone else's (mainly Eldar) wars, but they really couldn't care less - to them, smashing things up and killing people IS the end, rather than just a means. Why should they lose out on a good fight just because someone else profits from it? The way the Orks see it, they can always knock their puppeteers over the head once they've finished with their enemies.

no....think i got it...every player has his own favorite race( or more)...when you play the campaings with that race you make, let's say, our own story, of course an alternative story compared with the other stories that other races can have...I've played dark crusade with chaos, the story said that gorgutz defeated crull...when I've played with necron they said something about eldar defeating chaos

that's actually happening in the 40k universe, called the Kryptman gambit. it worked, orks of a particular sector (maybe arch-arsonists lair) are fighting an entire hive fleet by themselves. still a draw

An interesting tidbit from the Witch Hunters codex: if an Ork Waaagh! gets large enough, the psychic energies can affect humans, driving them to join in. Not all Orks would care for that, but Boyz are Boyz.

Orks prefer trade with Humans of the Imperium over Chaos, but will work with Chaos if Chaos can provide them enemies(EG Space marines) to fight.

Some Orks even went so far as to try and give Humans "gifts" in the form of Ork Squigs!

Orks aren't evil, at least not like the C'Tan, Chaos worshippers or Dark Eldar. They just don't understand anything outside of war, which is why concepts like pity or peace are meaningless to them...

Still, you do have to envy them. Apart from certain Chaos worshippers, Orks are probably alone in the galaxy in the sense they're having a fantastic time in the middle of all the fighting.

orc didnt evolve. the brain boyz(old ones) who are now lost to the orks had them created so as to protect the old ones from war but for some reason the old ones disapeared. but before they left they were able to geneticly alter the orcs dna so that some orc would excell at beign a mech while others warbosses but most orcs ended up being regular boyz or nobz

Yes, but it is not sad, because it's about trust and betrayal. It sounds sad, because Orks are a race that others consider to be lowly stupid and useless, but Orks are created for one thing... Fighting. It is the only way that orks can proove themselves, and when orks lose they fail their purpose (created to conquer and destroy) so Gorgutz's speech makes it sad cuz the only thing orks are good at is fighting and dying, but some SM and CSM take that right away from orks.

I don't think Gorgutz will make and appearance in Dawn of War 2. The new warboss model is an ork with no bionics at all and carries a large hammer. Our Gorgutz is a cybork with a gun arm and a claw arm.
