  • Roy Orbison one of the GREATEST!!! Forever!!

  • Kids today have no idea what the music world was like when this song was released.....they could never appreciate how far this field has matured.

  • For years I've listened to this version and the Ray Charles version and this is the first time I've clicked it's the same song

  • That's great! I love that song... I love that enchantaing voice...Thanks!

  • Bella questa versione di Roy Orbison.

  • 4 Bieber fans dislikes the song

  • definitely the best version of this song!

  • who prefers old school country than new school

  • @0nCh1ng by far! today's country music is laughable compared to Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Patsy Cline etc. it's just crap today.

  • What a great entry in the beginning, What a beautiful interpretation with orchestra and chorus

  • I love you Roy. Thank you for the music, you made this world a better place for living.

  • Que voz maravilhosa.

  • That's gotta be the toughest vocal duel ever: ray charles vs roy orbison...

  • Essa canção foi interpretada por grandes cantores.Mas para mim,a melhor interpretação é essa de Roy Orbison, meu ídolo.

  • OK oldies but one of the best

  • Oldies

  • Sigh... I cant stop loving you.....

  • 3 buddies stopped loving someone...

  • Dedicated to my wife Val, been together almost 50 years as boyfriend/girlfriend, engagd and married

  • I wonder if the garbage that is done by the biebers and gaga's of today will be remembered like music made by REAL people like Roy Orbison.

  • @dasmol b&g will be forgotten by next year.

  • @dasmol NO way will it be rememnered like the Big O - Elvis etc. etc

  • Last song i sung to my beautiful wife as she slipped away from me

  • @frankieb1962 wow, your comment hit me like a ton of bricks, sry to hear that.

  • still sounds fresh after all those years brilliant!!!

  • Roy was a genius and the best singner ever. I remain a fan!!

  • One word for this: Brilliant!

  • That was Don Gibson who wrote this song and covered it in 57, I believe

  • Other singers were good but there was only one Roy Orbison. There has not been another with his voice that could sing his songs. R.I.P. Roy, we miss you.

  • i like him roy

  • i am a fan from roy

  • I think it was Don Gibson Blinkie Bill

  • Wow, never knew that Roy Orbison had this song as well. Was Ray Charles the original singer of this song?

  • @izgil82 Don Williams wrote and sang this song first..it was originally a country song

  • to my ex in heaven...remember roy...

this song is his best ever

  • for my one love lolly.... lov rudy

  • right on

  • A beautiful old Don Gibson song which he wrote and first recorded in 1957. Everybody and his brother recorded it after that. This is a fine version by Roy Orbison.

  • Fantastic version by Roy, my favourite.

  • Don Gibson version is original guitar song; all another orchestra version is different....

Ray version 1962 is different than Roy, but later Jones modified Ray version.. (Ray was angry) ..

tastes and covers are different, but the first performance is only one

  • that made me feel happy.

  • I really love it!

  • Very great song...:o)

  • Thank you for this gem!

  • It sounds like Elvis totally ripped of Roy's whole trip.

  • @turntapzap

This is true. Elvis idolized Roy growing up, before he himself made his mark.

  • With all due respect, U are sooo wrong! Elvis was the King pure & simple. Now I really like Roy too, but Elvis was,, well Elvis...

  • Point well taken, I'm just making an observation.

  • Great! As all he recorded!

  • classic song

  • Unlike the Don Gibson original and the Ray Charles cover, Orbison starts with the verse instead of the chorus, and adds at least two verses. It turns the song into a less repetitive story, Roy's trademark.

    I can't stop loving you.

    There's no use to try.

    Pretend there's someone new.

    I can't live a lie.

    I can't stop wanting you.

    The way that I do.

There's only been one love for me.

    That one love is you.

  • Awesome......Great song and a great singer!

Doesn't get any better than this!!

  • One of my favorites by Roy.

  • Thank U

  • Roy released another version on his 1972 "Memphis" album... It's a little slower. Both are fabulous...

    watch?v=w40Qge7gnJg

    That's the other version...

  • I just listened to both parallel and this 1960 version is actually slightly slower. There is more chorus filler with "Auld Lang Syne" at the beginning in the 1972 version and Roy is freer with the vocal there, but I think this one expresses the emotion more effectively. Makes me cry anyway.

  • I've always loved this song. But the version that sticks in my mind was either by Ray Charles or Conway Twitty. I think it was Charles version though which was in the early 60s or maybe late 50s. Thanks for this version by Roy!
