@ViolentEncounter Air rifles use air pressure to fire pellets. thats what makes it different from a firearm. if it had primer in the pellets it would be a firearm lol. thats why there called AIR rifles.
@187bloodkid Believe it or not but flat nosed was cutters are more effective for hunting with a .177 pellet gun. They smash bones & hit the body like a hole puncher crushing everything in its path. Pointed pellets can deflect off bone & acupuncture the animal. Making the need to do flow up shots unless the animal runs & dies a painful death days latter. I would suggest if you do a lot of hunting get a .22 pellet rifle or pistol.
@187bloodkid Your still not getting as much power, speed don't mean much its how heavy the pellet is that counts. You can have a .22 cal air pistol that shoots a 14.3gr pellet at 600 FPS & it will have more power then your 1000 FPS spring gun. Also the testing done with those spring guns are with ultra light pellets 4.00 to 5.50 gr less weight then a steel BB in fact steel bb is just as effective & way cheaper. with a 7.9 gr pellet it will shoot around 800 FPS with a good gun.
@187bloodkid Thats OK :-) I am not ether I do some hunting but not much. I like powerful airguns to shoot random crap. More power the more stuff blows up. bigger holes deeper holes. Always more fun.
i have .177 pellet rifle im using the same BB`s you are i have tried this its awesome what they do mines the crossman pumpmaster 760 cheap gun but very fun to shoot also no rifling which sucks
@headshot8000 I cant see why this would make the gun inaccurate. It will probably reduce your velocity as its a heavier projectile, but the only way I can see it reducing accuracy is if the pellet dosent grip the rifling, which I doubt it wouldnt do as the pellets usually fit the bore enough without the pellet skirt expanding.
@Xxoo0o0o0ooxX im using a beeman 1040 .177 cal thats ok right and um i just tried my one thing um i used flat head pellets and i cut the flat head of and with a small knife i drilled a tinny hole so the pellet was the skirt- see threw both ends and then glued a bb to it ill try to make a vid of it soon
Even if u have a .177 it still is overkill kuz I have a force 1000 walther air rifle and it penetrated 12 cans and went threw half of a 4 in. piece of woofmd so I think if u have a 750 fps. gun or higher this is overkill but that's my appinion. Unless u just want ur gun to t go threw a car :)
@atmurphace I would not try this with .177 because the BB would be way to close to the rifling in the barrel. The best pellet I have found for this is crow magnums with a BB tip they are a lot heavier then the gamos at 23grs
@mrclarkdavis nope, it will work also for .177, i have done it b4. It is kinda sketchy on accuracy for long distance though.. bc the bb may be a little bit on one side than the other, causing it to tumble in flight.
@D94C .177 the bb only .174 or so is just to close to the rifling to try this with a .177 if it wobbels down the barrel it could damage the barrel thats why the steal bb in the .177 rocket is the size of bird shot.
in .22?? As for the epoxy I aways have that one hand & thats $1.00, 6.000 BBs is $10.00 I use them in my Drozd as well, The .22 holow points are $3-5 A tin. But I would rather buy them as they would be more percise then home made. But I have been looking at this .22 ammo that is a .21 cal. Steal bullet in a plastic shell to take the rifling. The shell leaves the bullet after firing.
The homemade pellets are 19.8 Grains the drop of epoxy prob puts it at 21 Grains giving the hiting power of H&N Baracuda Match .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose

dpm't waste your time making these...500 bb's are worth about $1.50 and then 500hollow points pellets (crosman hollow points) are worth $8.99 so then you save like $1.00 about. but then there is the cost for then glue so just buy them instead of wasting your time!
they do i bought a couple of cans .22 cal 6 dollars for 100. not too bad cause .22 crossman pointed pellets r like 6 for 150 so it wasnt too bad. they r deaddlyyy my .22 is 950 fps prty fun.
how much are u really saving with this...first u need to buy the pellets then the bb's and then the time it takes to make as many as u want to shoot....with all of that u should have spent the 10 bucks for the 100 count and shoot
well I dont think gamo makes them in .22 any morebut you buy 500 pack pellets for about 4 bucks & BBs are dirt cheap so you can make 500 rocket pellets for about 8 bucks

Have you used pointed pellets? If so was there a big difference?
TheBigmanpete 6 months ago
@TheBigmanpete I am sure it would work just be a bit harder to work with. Maybe stick the pellets in some Styrofoam before gluing the BB.

the cost of hollow points, glue, and bbs you could buy 2 tins of gamo rocket pellets

Well cheaper to make but hard to find the gamo brand in .22 I think they may have stoped making them in that cal.

ok nevermind i thought you were gluing the bbs in the tip of hollow points i saw the video response to it lol sorry my mistake

By adding a bb it might add to weight to pellet thats not as light as the factory piercing pellet specs. Unless its a very light pellet.
