  • I have the same cage as you! Except it only has two levels...?

Do you remember the name of the cage though? I don't remember and it's driving me crazy x(

  • I got two rats. One of them is fine and doesn't really bite me. The other one keeps on biting me! I guess maybe because that one is younger. Or maybe because it's their first day here. I am going to decide if I should take that one back to the store tommorrow. Because maybe that one is just timid today. I hope she isn't timid tomorrow!

  • camera sucks

  • I likw how you feed pellets as a base because they are very good for them! I give my rats little bits of PB sometimes :) That is also a very good book on rats, my the Rat Lady ;)

  • @ThaRatChick Be careful with PB though...It can choke the lil guys. Happened one of my rats and I never bothered to try it again. I've read that is isn't uncommon for that to happen. Scared me enough to give it up and give them their protein from meats and tofu instead.

  • @SwampCat911

Sometimes i give little teeny amounts, or spread it thin on a cracker, or thin it our with jelly or water.

  • that was ok im not gonna say its all right though

  • Hey there,

You did a really good job with this video! I've been a rat rescuer and owner for 23 years, and they are my favorite animals. I do have to say though, that I have to jump on the bandwagon and say never give a rat peanut butter. They can choke on it and they can die.

Your video is adorable though, good job again! Enjoy your ratties. I have 11 myself currently.

  • NO!! don't give a rat peanut butter they can chock on it!!I have alot rats, wonna come see my video of Happy?great video

  • you can give youre rat peanut butter as long as it's in a small quantities and that you mix it with jam to make it less sticky.

  • good info

but u shouldnt really give rats peanut butter cuz it gets stuck in their stomach and they cany throw it back up

  • Nice info and cage, i am in the progress of building one of those bookshelf style custom cages, i will make a video of it shortly when it is finished, as i intend on becoming a registered rat breeder and shower

  • sorry below i said cute a hole and I ment cut a hole lol

  • I have a male rat named Rolli and we only had a guinea pig size cage and I thought he would have more fun in a cage with levels so my mom bought one and it had levels but the base was too small, so I cute a square hole in the side of the guinea pig cage and the new cage and connected them so he can go in and out and he loves it! It is his new Condo cage haha. Thanks for the video.

  • i want to get a dumbo rat relly bad i got a big cage and pellet food i am wating for them to be weend the breeder is going to give me the runt and it is a girl!!!! i am so lucky!!!!

  • thats sounds good. lol

hope you have fun. got any questions feel free to ask.

  • my rat licks my fingers n then tries to bite my nails :D i think it wants to be a nail technician when it grows up :p

  • haha, mine do that too.

I think they like to just chew more than anything. =]

    `samilla`

  • lol not alot of things say for rats because for some reason the companies dont expect alot of pet rats...well...there wrong! lol

  • seriously,if the companys dont experct us to get rats, then why do they sell them?!?

    Makes me mad lol.

    I love those lil creaturs.

  • i no...i guess they sell them because there just feeders to most ppl.

  • i think that if ppl want to feed their pets rats, they should be frozen not alive. I mean rats are just so sweet. =\

  • ya i agree 100%

  • there lab blocks of sum sort. thats bad that i dont kno, the guy at the store just puts em in a seperate bag so he can sell them by the IB. yea i didnt put all that i give my rats on this vid, but i do like to mix some cereals together with seeds, to put into their food dished. i have three dishes in their cage and i put a different mix in each, so they can pick and choose.

  • you seem to know what you're doing in regards to feeding them. Are those "pellets" harlan lab blocks? I feed my rats lab blocks and a dry mix that I make at home. It contains low sugar cereals(weet-bix, puffed rice, muesli, cornflakes, branflakes etc), dry pasta, sunflower seeds, pumkpin seeds, buckwheat and dog food(only a tiny bit though because too much protein can give rats skin problems. They also get a small bit of left-overs from whatever I eat and fresh fruit and vege daily.
