When I was a prog rock radio jock (mid to late 70s ... Carbondale IL and Madison WI), I played the hell out of "Sepia Sister" and "On the Frontier". Didn't find much else on the album, though.
I don't know anything about this band. Absolutely nothing at All Music Guide. I'd like to know more. I don't think any of their albums or songs ever charted here in the states. Probably a bigger hit in the UK.
The singer with the sweet vocals is the very talented Jim McCarty. He has an awesome Youtube channel (JimMcCartyandCo). Who is he?? Google him, you will be very happy.
My husband is a huge KSHE fan since 1970 and he has a lot of classics and found this on CD not to long ago and one day while my mother was living with us she had cancer she heard this song and commented how much she liked it ....the odd thing is I never knew the words until today and my husband and I both feel she was telling us something she passed away a 2 mon. after this. We already loved the song but now its even more special. Thank you for making a beautiful song.
I'm from Ohio & I love KSHE. I stream every Sun morning to hear "Klassics" w/UMan. TBPH I've never heard this song before. All I know is that it comes from an album that never charted here in the states. That's usually an indication that the LP will never make it to CD at least for now. Sounds kinda Moody Blues-esque.
signs that say Im leaving as morning brings the sight of some great shining silver bird Still, Im not believing that Im going somewhere Till the engines drown my words Summer sings theres better things To come.. Winter whines the harder times Are done Looking back beyond me there are times Id rather not have back nor give away If you really want me, you know You shouldnt wait Another minute of the day Sepia sister theres plenty of space to fill Youre a part of something thats no more
Glad you posted this rare progressive rock classic.
On The Frontier is a great album - - Shoot's only one. And after the vinyl album was liquidated as a cutout, it was never released again. No CD, no MP3, nothing. Sad.
@JimMcCartyandCo I would love to cover this song in our band. I would love to get a copy of this album, or CD if still available. There is so little info about this band -- any way you could send me the lyrics?
THANK YOU so much for getting this track down. I had it more than ten years ago on cassette. Never made the jump to disc. What a gift!

Nice one. Used to think it was "Sleepy Sister". LOL! I didn't realize the intro had a different title ("Head Under Water").
