exactly the same here, I'd only been into music a year or two then and only had A Northern Soul, and it seemed like such a different band that I wasn't sure what was going on! Consistently great album, although I could never quite listen to it all the way through. Has nowhere near the longevity of A N S though, that is a true classic album in my opinion

Come On is just amazing and makes me feel the same every time I listen to it. It has so much energy that I feel that energy each and every time I hear it :) Urban Hymns is a classic and if I am stuck with a choice of only listening to a few CD's for the rest of my life this would surely be on my list. Listen to all the great B Sides from the UH's recording sessions...AMAZING

yes im fucking delighted any band who needed a return was the Verve they died while the heart was still pumpin was such a shame, ashcroft needed to get the verve back together wasnt that good on his own, but forget the roses returning browns better on his own

I agree the band had to return, They're great, but I personally feel Ashcroft on his own was equally as fantastic. So I'm hoping he'll continue with the Solo stuff in addition to the Verve, can't wait for a CD.

Sorry, to be the devil's advocate, but I am going to have to strongly disagree that this is the best Verve song. Almost every song off A Northern Soul is better than Weeping Willow, emphasis on History. That said, Willow is a great song.
