  • im portuguese eusebio was a talented footballer probably the best portuguese player of all time for now in portugal he is one of the best

there are others near to his level

but in the world there where others that where better then he was i wont mention names theres no point but he had a fantastic career in football and will be in football history for years to come AND BENFICA SUPPORTERS WILL ALLWAYS REMEMBER HIM AS THE BLACK PANTHER

  • Best european player ever...

  • When I was 8 years old, Eusebio played 4 home games, scoring 5 goals, for the New Jersey Americans in New Brunswick, just 8 miles from my house. I found this out only a few months ago. If only I'd known.

The choice of Randy Newman's score for "The Natural" is perfect for this genius, who turns 70 today.

  • For me, and after Zinedine Zidane, Eusébio was the best player that ever lived! The KING!!!

  • Qual é o nome da música ?

What the name of the song ?

  • @HBK619 It's the theme music from "The Natural," a film about baseball, composed by Randy Newman. The title fits Eusebio so well.

  • Another fact for those who are uneducated - the best of all time, Pele, played in 4 World Cups in 1958, 1962, 1966, 1970. He won in 1958, 1962, and 1970. In 1966 his team didn't even make it out of the group stages because they went up against Eusebio, who only ever played in the 1966 World Cup. Eusebio scored 2 goals in the match against Brazil and Portugal won by 2 goals and knocked the 2 time defending champions out in the group stage. And this guy thinks he's not a top 10 player. Ha.

  • Eusebio inst famous as pele because he played hes entire life in benfica

  • @egaluel well but pele played his entire life in santos... if portugal won the 1966 world cup he would be more known

  • THE LEGEND

  • @Veritas1925 He isn`t a legend - He was just the only black player who played a good World Cup 1966!

    That`s about it!

  • @SuperJuliusC

I agree. The man is a legend !

  • @SuperJuliusC Are you dumb? Eusebio is a top 10 player all time...

  • @DzekoSucks Since when?!

  • @DzekoSucks Let`s see:

The "five football saints" are: Pele, Cruyff, Maradona, Zidane and Beckenbauer!

That means: Yep... Eusebio could be in the "top ten"... but he is certainly no "football saint"...

  • @SuperJuliusC I have a proposition for you. Watch as many games as you can of Cruyff, Maradona, Zidane and Beckenbauer and then look for players as Alfredo DiStefano, Ferenc Pushkas, Eusébio, José Augusto de Almeida, Zoltán Czibor and Mário Coluna. There's more of course, but these ones are a good start. Who knows maybe you'll find new saints after comparing:)

  • @AnaIsabell The only one I would add to my "list of saints" is: Socrates!

Alfredo DiStefano is a whore (sorry - but is there any national team on the planet this guy hasn`t played for?! - And: He signed with Real and Barcelona at the same time (both teams wanted to share his contract (he would play the one half of it for Real and the other half for Barcelona - But Real broke the deal))). Never heard of de Almeida (must be a portuguese insider).

  • @SuperJuliusC Even if you believe he is a whore, he is still one of the best football players of all time. About José Augusto de Almeida. He was one of the top players in the legendary SL Benfica "Dream Team" and the Portuguese national football team during the 1960s.As a Benfica player he was considered the best right winger in Europe. He played in the two European Champions Cup finals which Benfica won (1961 and 1962), and in the lost finals of 1963, 1965 and 1968.

  • @AnaIsabell Puskas - Maybe (I mean: Football became "big business" in the late 60`s - The guys from the eras before are quite forgotten).

Eusebio was a very very good player don`t get me wrong - But on the other half I could name at least five players from this era (1961 - 1973 (national team)) which were better on the position(s) he played!

  • @SuperJuliusC Actually I think that is the problem. Most of the football legends played when tv and most communications were scarce. And now every good game goes worldwide in a few seconds. Most young people have never heard of some legendary football players or seen them play. I myself try very hard to watch old games. About Eusébio, name your five players and I'll tell you why Eusébio was better:)

  • @AnaIsabell Better offensive players from 1961 until 1973?!

Let`s see: Okay, we have of course Pele - That one was easy!

Then we have Gerd Müller: Scored 68 goals in 62 games for Germany. Scored 398 goals in 453 games for Bayern Munich. Scored 10 goals at the 1970 World Cup. European Champion 1972. World Cup winner 1974. "Champions League aka EC1 winner" 1974, 1975, 1976. European cup winners cup winner aka EC3 1967...

  • @AnaIsabell The next one is ... Uwe Seeler!!!!!!

Then we have of course Cruyff!

And last but not least: Günter Netzer, Johan Neeskens, Wolfgang Overath, Uli Hoeneß (yes the fat president of Bayern Munich was actually a very good player in the 70`s and had won every major title when he was only 22), Josef Heynckes (the current manager of Bayern Munich)...

  • @SuperJuliusC Did I say he was a saint? I said he was a top 10 player. Any expert who actually knows football knows that he is a top 10 player of all time. He scored 9 goals in one World Cup playing on a minnow team. He was nearly a goal per game in his entire career playing over 700 matches. He had one of the greatest single-handed performances in World Cup history against North Korea. He led Benfica to 29 trophies and has 13 top scorer titles. Need I go on? Educate yourself on football.

  • @SuperJuliusC zidane a saint?! please...

  • @diogohra "Football saint"...

  • @SuperJuliusC Well Pele Himself said when he come to Portugal recently that Eusebio was one of the most skillful and complete players he had met in his life. And he was not the only black player who played a good world Cup in 1966, there was as well Mário Coluna, know as the Sacred Monster. When playing the Intercontinental Cup, in Brazil - Maracanã Stadium - against Pelé's Santos, Brazilian reporters started calling him "The Didi of Portugal".

  • @AnaIsabell First of all: Perhaps I was a little bit too harsh to Eusebio!

But: Give Pele an Euro (... well... probably Dollars would be better these days) and he would probably tell you that I am the greatest footballer of all times...^^

  • Eusebio- Only person to had score more goals than appearances.

Imagine Eusebio, Pele and Puskas together. The would have scored 30 goals in a match

  • eusébio was not one of the greatest, he was the greatest portuguese player and the world's best player ever!

  • @pedroleitas Thats not how you write Gerd Müller.

  • what a power shot!!!!

  • The black panter

  • this music is epic

  • What everyone think of Romario??

  • Must of people consider's Eusébio one of the best soccer player's of all time. For me i is the Best Player of wall time at least in it's position - forward. His nickname, the Black Panther, says it all...!

  • Has anyone got Mario Coluna's testimonial match? 8/12/70. I saw this years ago on German TV & George Best was playing, along with Eusébio amongst other fantastic players from that era

  • Bogarde is better than Eusebio the most overrated player in history, Di Stefano,Luis Suarez, Kubala, Cesar, Kockcis, Zcibor, Puskas, Zarra of the same era for example was betteer than Eusebio, Today eusebio with his quality=bogarde

  • @esTebanLRD who s bogard?you know eusebio?what he achived in his carrier?all this players you just quoted recognize eusebio as one of the best of all time, pele said if he had to choose a player to play for brazil would be eusebio(:

  • @mago98022 Ignorant.

  • Him and Geroge best are both way better then Maradona or Pele

  • @pinkbunny97 How about Romario?

  • i am portuguese but maradona for me is the best of all times eusebio da silva ferreira is the 3º best

  • BENFICA FOREVER I'm PORTUGESE AND THIIS GUY IS THE BEST PLAYER IN HISTORY :D

  • e´ pena nao ser portugues

  • @oxtonee tipooo moçambique era colonia portuguesa...

  • @SuperMrs97 entao ele ja nao e´ portugues xd

  • lovin the run up at 2:43 XD

  • couple of facts in case you dont actually know how amazing he was:

    for benfica:614 games, 638 goals (!)

better club football goals to games ratio than.........PELE (!)

  • one of the best players ever, maybe better than Platini or Zidane

  • @zipOneCR7 NÃO SABES O QUE IS FAZER?????

  • Great music score for the video

  • great eusebio

  • Lovely, lovely footballer.

  • @seanreillyireland Are you lurking in the danger area once again, mate? ;-D Thanks to you for sharing this vid w/me & thanks to tslpl for such a TOP-CLASS upload concerning such a TOP-CLASS footballer.

  • DE CERTEZA QUE AQUILO EH O EUSÉBIO???? SÓ VEJO UMA MANCHA NEGRA A CORRER......QUE PENA VCS SÓ TEREM IMAGENS A PRETO E BRANCO PARA PODER CONFIRMAR =(

  • respecto eusebio

  • Pele and Eusebio would have been a great partnership.

  • amazing player but pele was better

  • Eusébio was a great player. He was speedy, skillful and powerful not too dependent of supply lines from midfield to be successful. He score a total of 733 in official games and 1137 in all of his carreer. He played with passion for his team, not for the money! And by the way Eusebio beat Pele twice :) So because of all that he is my idol and role model.

  • @2spc4ever Pele beat eusebio more than twice though. including the 5-2 humiliation of benfica by santos and Pele in 1962 interontinental cup inside da luz.

  • @sptwood05 Yes, true, but even Pelé states that Eusébio was the most "complete" player he ever met. Sometimes Eusébio likes to joke around with Pele saying: You should have played in Europe, with cold, rain, in muddy fields to know how hard it was:)

  • @AnaIsabell And Eusebio playing in Brazil? Warm, very warm wheather, bad , very bad grass, rain too, instalations precaries and a giant country (that time to travel in Brazil was very hard).

  • @SirIgorHatake andas é tolinho.

  • This is the best African player of all time, Drogba and Eto'o are not fit to even kiss his Boots, he was born in Mozambique and took Portugal citizenship later on.

he played with my daughter back in Mozambique when he was 14.

  • @zooskie at that time Mozambique was a portuguese colony so he didn't take the portuguese citizenship later on, he was born portuguese

  • @tmscst

    ooh i get it thanks...

  • @zooskie he was not African he was Portuguese. African descendant, yes. Born in Africa, but Portuguese nationality.

  • @zooskie MY FRIEND , AT THE TIME , MOZAMBIQUE WAS A PORTUGUESE TERRITORY , SO , HE WAS BORN PORTUGUESE... I WAS BORN IN MOZAMBIQUE ALSO IN 1973 AND I´M PORTUGUESE PROUDLY! SLB4EVER

  • Adoro este senhor. Um admirador profundo do FCPorto.

Admiro o amor a camisola. A classe e o patriotismo!

  • What song is this ?

  • my grandfather played with eusebio on benfica in the 60's

    jose dinis

  • @Ckobasew12 my sister played with eusebio back then- I think it was a '63 Ford

  • @Ckobasew12 liar

  • @MrVisuljak How can you guarantee he's lying?

  • @triplehhhmytimewwf i googled jose dinis and couldnt find any information about a benfica player. thus, jose dinis is cristiano ronaldo's father, the only famous person with the name jose dinis. and even if there was jose dinis in benfica trust me no grandson would brag about that especially not on youtube.

  • @MrVisuljak Was,CR's father,I googled it too and I now agree with you

  • @triplehhhmytimewwf it's really not hard to spot liars and retards on youtube, they're all over the place...just go on ANY titanic video and every third person is saying: "my great grandfather was on titanic" - yeah right, that's why titanic had 3 milion passangers....

  • @Ckobasew12 i searched up jose dinis and it said that he was cristiano ronaldo's father...

  • cristiano ronaldo melhor do mundo ate me faz rir

  • Sorry. Eusbio was good...BUT, George was the BEST.

  • @rolandfreisler1 What did you say??? Best better than the Black Panther, the King Eusébio???!!! OH MY GOD!!! FOR ME, EUSÉBIO WAS THE SECOND BEST PLAYER IN HISTORÝ OF FOOTBALL, AFTER ZINEDINE ZIDANE.

  • A maneira de ele festejar o golo e engraçada :D

1:25 parece que ta a dizer "AHH SOCORRO, SOCORRO" hehehe

  • Ninguem consegui fazer melhor

  • Vejam o palmares do Eusébio. 4 Finais Europeias. 2 Vice-Campeão Europeu 2 Taças dos Campeões Europeus. 2 Vice-Campeão do Mundial Interclubes. 11 Campeonatos Portugueses.

  • i meet him in 1998 and shake his hand at the entrance of the old SL Benfica stadium witch doesn't exist now ( giving place to the new one ) great man from a great club ... impressive the fact that he never changed club since he went to benfica straight from mozambique ...

  • a mascote do benfica

  • Comment removed

  • can anyone tell me what the music in this video is? and what movie is it used in?

  • eusebio and pele are my favorite players of all time..

  • everyone names out typically pele and maradona as the greatest player ever, but for me it is eusebio.

    pura e simplesmente sorte!?!?

AMIGO FICA EM CASA POIS ESTAS COM FEBRE AMARELA ...

  • i never saw him play but portuguese people tell me he was better than pele only that there arent enough evidence of it such as videos. to me maradona was better than pele thats just my opinion. eusebio though will be remembered by those who saw him play

  • @ganthonyvr of course portuguese people will say that jsut liek argentine people say maradona. There isnt enough vids of pele either he scored over 1000 but how many vids of them do you see? They both played in the same era....you tell me Pele was 17 in his 1st WC scoring a HT vs france in the semis and a brace in the final 6 goals 3 games you tell me what was maradona or Eusebio doing at 21!

Now that being said Eusebio is the best player africa has produced no doubt and one of the best striker

  • @XRRfan Eusebio was busy being a track race sprinter he was the best portuguese under 19 sprinter

  • @XRRfan i'm not gonna tell you what eusebio was doing at 21...i'm gona tell you what eusebio was doing at 18... May 1961 he do his debut with Benfica in a game agains Atletico Madrid and scored 3 of the 4 benfica goals. In that same year eusebio lead benfica do first time Final of champions league... where they win Barcelona 3-2.... So tell me boy what was maradona doing with 18???

  • Eusebio=Deus

  • 1.17 is very funny

  • pfff...

Tu, lagarto frustrado/tripeiro porco, és o iluminado! Parabéns.

  • @jotenko Ai sim ??

  • @turfallum06 AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.... FOI A 4 FINAIS EUROPOEIAS PORQUE TINHA SORTE...HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAH.... NÃO VÁS AO MEDICO AMIGO QUE NÃO TE FAZ FALTA......NADINHA...HAHAHAHA

  • Lindo!

  • @filh0daputa Eu vi a bola, e bem....dentro da baliza ;)

  • when you made those number with the old soccer ball, you are great player.....that ball is like 5 kg and hard leather.......with that ball Pele use to do the great movement, Eusebio beat so many keepers, Puskasgive us so many good memories, and Di Stefano became in one of the greatest player. For new players now everything is more easy, with the new tecnology.....Puskas made the exact same movements than messi or CR, but with the old ball.

  • @demon80

Yeah, i never get the people who say football was easier back then. No yellow card for injuries, heavier ball, among other stuff. If anything it was harder.

And someone like Eusebio and Pele, being as good as they were with those disadvantages compared to today, is big, real big.

  • @MisterWhat yes...if you give any of the old players the new ball, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo wouldnt exist.

  • @demon80

They would dance around them. I can believe players today got perhaps more built stamina, thanks to new training and diet regimes, but that is it. The main problem with players today, of any Nacionality, is that they aren`t though anymore. They go down, searching for penalties and free scores, making a theater out of the game, when the others were trained to play while getting hurt.

  • @MisterWhat Yes, thats true, my dad always told me when he saw Pele play on the Santos: "you need a tank to take down pele, imagine a 100% muscle machine with skills, that was Pele".

  • @demon80 Goddawn right. The balls back sure were heavier.

  • @demon80 thats so true m8 ...

  • 301 games (sl benfica)

    317 goals (benfica)

    more goals than games played

  • @foroeste 317 goals?? rotflol... he did 727 official goals in 715 games with benfica...

  • One of the best Strikers ever Eusebio

  • 1-ronaldo fenomeno

    2-r gaucho

    3-zidane

    4-c ronaldo/messi

    5-figo

    6-maradona

    7-pele

    8-eusebio

    9-riquelme

    10-bergkamp

  • @atos0us0rck0rgs

    hahahahah gaucho joke?

    tas a brincar?

  • my grandfather told me about Eusébio, now I'm telling my son about this great man

  • the best striker ever

  • fuckoff989,

  • @fuckoff989 és do Benfica?

  • AMEN!!!

  • This brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful

Eternos aziados. Eternos chorões.

  • O REI....EUSÉBIO

  • Nice video, I want that sound track.
