I used a trip to Maui in May to kind of break myself in for what I should expect when I return to the Philippines. I have many problems with whites on the mainland already, but seeing them act the way they did when I was "in your house" was too much for me. Your hospitality helped me find myself and disregard everything I ever learned from this "American" structure. I shouldn't have left.

@SkipHawaii I travel light, just have my mother here in the states to worry about. She lived the Island life and told me she isn't ready to go back yet to live out the rest of her life just yet. I have one friend who's been marginalized his whole life, but I sent him to Hawaii a few years ago, and now he has something to look forward to for he is building a career around medical billing to go back and live there. My ex-friends love the American lifestyle too much, had to let it go

I've lived in Hawai'i for 7 years and it is so sad to see what has happened and is still happening there. Hawaiians are beautiful people, inside and out.. They are humble and caring, they deserve to have what belongs to them. It's a shame to see what the 'haoles' and the American government have done to those people and their land.

Born in the Philippines, raised in California. I've been preparing myself for my 25 year return home. I used a trip to Maui in May to kind of break myself in for what I should expect when I return to the Philippines. I have many problems with whites on the mainland already, but seeing them act the way they did when I was "in your house" was too much for me. Your hospitality helped me find myself and disregard everything I ever learned from this "American" structure. I shouldn't have left.

I have one friend who's been marginalized his whole life, but I sent him to Hawaii a few years ago, and now he has something to look forward to for he is building a career around medical billing to go back and live there. Sadly I can guess at the outcome for native Hawaiians, dwindling numbers until they are a page in history. Hawaii was a sovereign territory, recognized by over 90 delegates from different countries around the world. Hawaiians educated in the Kamahamaha Schools are educated, prospering, law abiding, proud citizens that don't want to be connected to the lazy, mentally ill, trash throwing rest of them. I lived right down the street from these hell holes where they consider themselves "house-less" not homeless. They spew trash everywhere they go, leave diapers, wrappers, dog poop on the pristine beaches, purchase soda pop, spam, and unhealthy foods with food stamps.
