Greg Graffin said it most succinctly: "The masses of humanity will always have to suffer." Your government does not serve you. It serves itself. Every government does. It's just that in this country (the United States of America), by the people and for the people is supposed to mean something. It means nothing.
lastely we can hear another revival of this song on radios, but i don't know what band made this one. thought it sounded like chris cornell's voice, but seems this is not from him.

I am old, and have loved this song longer than most of you have been alive. The emphasis needs to be placed on those folks who are trying to kill Americans.

So say you.... And with that, let us all retire to Florida and reap whatever temporary bliss we can find until intelligent individuals, like you, hasten our demise. Arabic anyone? You, Sir/Madam, have no conception or empathy for the Twin Tower attack and the people who were murdered. Shame on you.
The atrocities that ocurred on 9/11 do not justify the atrocities that our government has comitteted since then.
Shame on me? Shame on anyone who's not offended by what we did in Abu Ghirab and what we continue to do in Guantanamo and countless other "black sites" across the globe.
Or, does the fact that an American performs these acts somehow make it justified?
@douglascblack How many friends or relatives did you lose in the Twin Tower attack? For me, it was 4 friends and 1 cousin. But I don't use the experience to foster hate and racists thoughts. Al Queda attacked is, not Islam. There were blued eyed blond haired German terrorists involved in the planning as well. So now are we supposed to hate white people too? Why don't we just hate everyone to be safe....
@douglascblack this song was actually about the wave of people who stood up against the Viet Nam war and the warmongers who stood against them. It's relevancy now makes me think of the Tea Party and their polar opposite ( the folks who call themselves "Progressives"). The idiotic idea that one side or the other is right and that compromise is out of the question is what will bring this country .
I've always been on Creedence fan. So, when I heard that this band named Uncle Tupelo covered this song, I was skeptical. But I have to say, their version smokes. Big time. Almost as great as Creedence's version.
Yeah, UT was great. If you like this, check out their best-of CD: "Uncle Tupelo 89/93: An Anthology" as well as the 2 bands that came out of UT - Son Volt and Wilco.
Wow! I am really glad you went ahead and did this. Brilliant. Love the understated intro straight thru to the terrifying conclusion. Big thumbsup! My country scares the piss out of me these days.

With all due respect, I think the emphasis needs to be placed on those who commit immoral and/or atrocious acts, regardless of their nationality.
