Godoy is my all-time favorite pianist. Melodic but jazzy enough to light up my brain's second favorite pleasure center. Godoy's expressiveness combined with Jobim's melodic genius make the most pleasurable music. This trio plays together so tightly, you'd think they were brothers. When I first heard them on the radio in Rio de Janiero in 1966, I couldn't believe my ears! 44 years later, the thrill hasn't worn off.
Why ? Because favelas slum ,is esthetic and ethics depressing. Very depressing
confirmations of the right and left incompetence to deal with corruption and impunity ( in fact they came from it) . With results that obviously satisfy some groups.

E ainda tem aquela sambista ,lá do Cacique de Ramos ,que defende o nazista disfarçado. Ainda bem que a velha guarda não deixou ela subir no carro alegórico: LUCIDEZ DO DERRADEIRO POVO CARIOCA ! BRASIL ACIMA DE TUDO !
