  • Lol, they sure had fun during the rehearsal!

  • Lol, look at

  • Absolutely wonderful...but sad because Luciano isn't with us anymore. Such a loss. Thanks for posting.

  • Yes dee1153, Luciano was so special that the other was pa;le in contrast to him, he was blessed and the other, the one thing that they could do is to be as an accompaniment singers of him.

  • Absolutely beautiful and Luciano had a spirit of a mischievous child, very very charming. and I love the look that Carreras looked at Luciano when he joked. thank you very much.

  • Luciano was such an affectionate person - his arms always around someone. The others pale in contrast to him. He is big in every way - voice, heart & laugh. You can see the joy he had & brought to our lives.

Poor old, boring Domingo - always trying to be better. He knows, no one is more loved than our Luciano. Yes, loveluciano1, Pav had the spirit of a child. He & Jose loved each other very much & it shows.

Isn't it funny how they try to copy him?

    Thank you, Conny!

  • I Think you don't know Placido very good, he never tried to be better than Pavarotti, it's not his personality. They accepted each other, why don't you do that too?! By the way, Placido is still amazing, I saw and heard him this summer in Verona!

  • Read the book by Pav's ex-manager, Herbert Breslin. Being behind the scenes for 40 years, I think he knows better than you do. His portrayal of the Maestro is not always flattering, quite the contrary. He goes into great length about their relationship.

  • Yes, Pav accepted 'Mingo but Breslin said 'Mingo resented the fact that Pav was #1 while he was the hardest working man in opera. He also said he would have given all he had for Pav's gift. Every move he made, 'Mingo was copying him. Things are not always what they seem on the surface. Each had a public face, but truth is, 'Mingo was ate up with jealousy. Pav didn't concern himself with such pettiness - why would he? He was #1 then & will still is & "Mingo has had to live with it. So do you.

  • First of all you are not right!!If you like Pavarotti the most than speak in yourself ,don`t speak everyone, cause that`s not true!!Nobody here trying to copy pavarotti,so don`t talk something like that just because you hate one of those great maestros!!!

  • It has nothing to do with me "hating" anyone. I'm not speaking for myself. It's all documented in the book. Did you take the time to read the book? Well, if you had, you'd know that Breslin is quite hard on Pavarotti. He doesn't sugar-coat him AT ALL - quite the opposite. I'm going on a PERSONAL ACCOUNT of a man that was behind the scenes for decades. You have no clue what's true. Educate yourself... read the book. Then you can spout off at the mouth.

  • @dee1153 Everyone has their faults--everyone. Breslin, in my humble opinion, is an ass with an ax to grind. Breslin was recommended to Pava because Pava was too kind and naive for the business and Breslin was hard enough to deal with it. I think that, over time, Breslin created a mini-me (Pava) and then didn't like the results. After all, how dare Pava fire him when the great and mighty Breslin had made a fortune for Pava (and himself)? He saw his "cash cow" walk out and was furious. WTG Pava!
