Jacob's ok. Liked him at first because he was simple and not a biotch like Miranda, but over the course of the game you find out he's got a problem with aliens, so he's not that great. He doesn't beat Zaeed in combat though. Still he's not bad, just would rather see more Zaeed in ME3 than Jacob.

@postapocalyptia I don't think the thermal clip system was really finished since they didn't explore the fact that they probably should have gradually cooled down when the weapon is not being fired. Whether that was a design decision or not, they certainly didn't allow me to, as claimed, "put more rounds downrange" faster than when you had to manage the heat buildup on your own.

Imagine all of the soldiers out there that overheat their weapons and have to wait (their hands burning) for seconds before they can shoot again, time enough for the enemy to walk up and shoot them from inches away. Thermal clips avoid this, but if thermal clips could regenerate over time that would be good (as in the clip refills itself from 20% ammo to it's 10 shot max)

@postapocalyptia I don't think the thermal clip system was really finished since they didn't explore the fact that they probably should have gradually cooled down when the weapon is not being fired. Whether that was a design decision or not, they certainly didn't allow me to, as claimed, "put more rounds downrange" faster than when you had to manage the heat buildup on your own.

@postapocalyptia but you have to think of it in-galaxy. Imagine all of the soldiers out there that overheat their weapons and have to wait (their hands burning) for seconds before they can shoot again, time enough for the enemy to walk up and shoot them from inches away. Thermal clips avoid this, but if thermal clips could regenerate over time that would be good (as in the clip refills itself from 20% ammo to it's 10 shot max)

Man they really fucked the pooch with Jacobs charecter his backround story is so much in league with shepards they made him out to be one true bad ass with the whole Batarian scenario. but in game was disapointing instead of giving him some kewl powers they gave him a default power in me 1 for his loyalty power wich was lame.
