  • @1.31 that wouldnt be allowed under Heath &Safety rules now :)

  • Quality thanks for posting.

  • This is Austrailia or England, Its UK Acents EVERYWHERE and the song is "Put a Dime in the Record Machine" When this is "Put a Coin in the record machine"

  • @CoolioRockstar you know, they change some of the lyrics in all their songs to avoid infrigment, unless it is an original of theirs. no big deal, they are great and do a great job too.

  • このバンドのことを全然詳しく知らないのですが、

    この曲を初めて聴いた時はあまりの素晴らしさに

    唖然呆然でした。キャッチー過ぎる!

    真ん中あたりの組体操?が、、、おもろい!

  • Greta song:)

  • Fantastic, this is brilliant. It brings back memorys at the disco's at great yarmouth back in the 80's.Me & my bro used 2 dance 2 this lol.Great memory's.!!!!

  • rock and roll forever

  • I think this is from the UK cause its "Put another dime in the Record Machine!" That is the american version!

I sang this in Disneyland and I had FANS! Very Fun!

  • singing this 4 our gang show

  • Had Brighton bopping and rockin

  • This is old PURE music where the people who sing/perform LOVES IT.

Not like like today even thinking of playback! THIS I PAY FOR, I wont pay for a bogus cd with edited sound! Nor either a live show with playback.

  • Cool story, bro.

  • I have all the Rocky Sharpe cds on my ipod, and often play them when I go jogging. My favs' are 'Tonight' & 'Never'.

  • i remember playing this full blast at my nans house on her old stereo radiogramme when she went down the shops, i put in on repeat play and had a bath the song must have played about 5 times in a row and there was loud banging at the door, i opened it to find about 7 neighbours of my nans stood there looking at me... this was a sunday afternoon in a small village i had left the living room windows where the stereo was wide open...

o to be a 15 year old again

  • That sounds a right laugh....I bet you like watching paint dry as well!!

  • still sounds great

a floor filler without a doubt

  • good stuff,

  • I used to work for a charity called vitalise

for people with disabilities. He used to come on respite.

Unfortunatly Robert Podsiadly (Rocky) has M.S

lovely chap and very proud of his "celeb"

day's as he called them lovely bloke not

sure how he is now though does anyone know!

  • Just great

  • yep bring on the old days! wot fun

  • darn just heard about rocky ffs stay true fella xx

  • Fantastic memories. I used to bop around like mad to this when I was young!

Thanks for the memories and very sad news about Rocky. Hope he reads these posts to see how much joy he gave people!

  • Hey Doowopski,

    sad news for me.

Be a Rocky fan since 1979. My best wished for him.

  • Hey Doowopski

Sorry to hear that about Rocky. They were responsible for the whole of my youth, and helped catapult me towards Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats. Long live Doo Wop.. Dion will always be King Of the New York Streets.

    Mikey xx

  • Great song, love it.

    What are they doing now?

  • Sadly Rocky suffers from MS and can no longer perform but I am reliably informed that he can still enjoy You Tube. Johnny was Communications Manager for a trade association untill recently but is now freelance copywriting and enjoying digital photography. Helen acts, scriptwrites for TV (Eastenders and Heartbeat - the best known) and exhibits her art. Eric (Mike Vernon of Fleetwood Mac/Blue Horizon fame)continues to produce music. Great talented under-rated band with a sense of humour!

  • Thanks for your answer.

  • Thanks for the update - all the best to Rocky.

Have you got "So Hard To Laugh"?

    Love that song!

  • "So easy to cry, now that we've said goodbye." That's Rocky Sharpe & the Razors. But yes I have it. No video to go with it though.

  • I know i have it somewhere (on vinyl) just can't find it!

Any idea who did the original?

  • Yup1 It was The Titans and you can see their version on You Tube under 'Titans Doo Wop Group'. It is a mushier version then the RS&R version but the lead vocals are remarkably similar in 'smokyness'. Griff Fender sings lead on RS&R

  • Ernie Maresca i think

  • @snackleforkofemir Erine Maresca did the original

  • @snackleforkofemir Ernie Maresca circa 1960

  • can u put it on you tube dosent hae 2 have a vid i would just like 2 hear it

  • Sad to hear about rocky not only a showman but a big part of the rivival of the late 70s early 80s and thanks to him its still going stong lost count of how many times he was on tv back then but they always entertained

  • Very sad news. I've still got some of their 45s.

They may have been somewhat in the shadow of Darts, but they were always fantastic. This was a Top 10 hit so I hope he still makes a few bob from it.

  • How Rocky Sharpe never made it is beyond me. Everyone I know who's ever heard them has become a lifelong fan. Brilliant vid.

  • Great Stuff!

  • Absolute classic performance. Now I'm not a complete rock n roll freak...far from it, but how can anyone not want to move to this!

  • I always loved this "punching" routine. You used a similar one for Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, right? Emiliano.
