You're doin great kid. Don't listen to the haters. That was a pretty badass lightnin strike. I woulda killed to get that on video. Only the guys like us who really appreciate and admire these beautiful thunderstorms understand this video. FUCK HATERS.
woh i think we had somthing like that this was so close it scared all of us and my sister started to cry so bad like this was the bigest boom iv ever heard pritty cool:)
Awe you must be a fucking idiot huh. 3 miles = 15 seconds dumbass. Try it took 8 seconds after the lightning strike for the thunder to be heard. 5 seconds = 1 miles, so 8 seconds is a little over a mile and a half or 1.5 miles. Now whos the idiot?
When i was visiting florida once, and i was out on the deck. then lightning struck from at least 10 yards away. The strike in this video is about 2 miles away.
@Diabloz11 HA! my ears are trained for this! I've lived there for 8 years, watching lightning every chance I get. I count and count and now I count involuntarily. that that 2.4 miles away. I heard thunder 12 seconds later. BTW, I've seen lightning strike my neighbors tree while I was outside. Dang it was loud.
It was about 2-3 miles away.. FAIL

2400 meters i calculated
MetalUpYourAss4life 2 years ago
@MetalUpYourAss4life i calculated 12 seconds. so that is 4 km, not 2.4. and that is 2.4 MILES!
awesomelightning 1 year ago
the true measure is 1 second = 300 meters
untouchable0050 2 years ago
@untouchable0050 well, I use miles, but I kno KM. 3= 1km. so, 1= 1/3 km. So 1= 333 1/3 m

3sec=1 KM, 5 sec=1 MI

1.6 - 1.8 sounds right. The speed of sound is about 761 mph, or 1100 feet/second.
dbphiladelphia 4 years ago
5 seconds = 1 mile on average, so about 1.6-1.8 miles I'd say. Nice capture though.
