On page 425 of the proposed bill, it says that everyone on social security (will include all senior citizens & SSI people) will go to MANDATORY counseling every 5 yrs to learn & to choose from ways to end your suffering (and your life). Yes, they are going to push SUICIDE to cut Medicare spending! Health care will be denied based on age. $500 bil will be cut from seniors healthcare. The only way for that to happen is to drastically cut health care, the oldest and sickest will be cut first.

Too bad the private health insurance market is not competitive. It is completely dominated by a handful of large companies. Please note that recently, even with reform on the table, Conn. Blue Cross just asked for a 32% hike in their rates. Also, try to google the following: "state health insurance percentage monopoly" and see what you come up with. The insurance industry is doing the same thing. They decide which pool of doctors you can go to. If you want more choice, you pay more. They health insurance industry decides whether you get treated or not. I don't see the difference here, except that the government option will be lot more better. Don't trust me. Just look at the recent interview of an ex-CIGNA Communications Executive where he clearly confessed that the health insurance companies have been lying to us all these years.

has anybody actually read the bill thats in the house? why and the hell would you want that??? there is a provision in the bill that reduces ways u would be able to get private insurance so youll go on the govt plan. theres a provision in the bill that also makes EVERYONE fund abortions whether u like it or not. theres also a provision that puts a board in charge of OUR health care. it will decide what treatment we'll get and so on. do u people actually want this?

I'm starting to agree what Bill Maher has said, that the Democrats are becoming the new Republicans. Pretty much in the future its not about parties anymore, its either vote for the candidate that wanted one government bailout or the other candidate that wanted the next 3. people from all over the world come to the US for medical treatment but i can't say i have seen americans flocking to cuba or anywhere else for treatments.also if socialized medicine is so great why are the very people that are forcing on us exempt from it in favor of a private plan.

quite alot of people from the UK go to places like switzerland, or norway because there private healthcare is loads cheaper with a higher standard, than the US. and the only reason we leave here for it, is because, for whatevere reason, the procedure is illegal here. well there are more qualified doctors and equipment here, that doesn't mean everyone can afford it. haven't you read about Americans going to other countries for medical treatment, and the reason is the cost, people need good medical treatment..also they have to afford it right.. if not what's the point of having it..

HR 615 a resolution to make members of Congress who vote "yes" for government run health care put their money where their mouth is and take the same plan. Right now Congress is exempt from the plan they are proposing. If Congress has a stake in this reform then maybe they will think twice b4 ramming it through Congress. Right now millions of $ are flowing to Congress from insurance giants what do you think is going to happen?
