is it just me or does this kind of remind you of RE 2 when Leon and Aida leave the RCPD thru the parking lot / jail cells out thru the sewers? i miss the old Silent Hill style. this game is good, but too much like RE than SH

i didnt really like this game as much as i wanted to, it was enjoyable but it needs to be to the Silent Hill series what Resident Evil Zero was to the Resi series i.e. the last of its kind, it needs fairer amounts of health and ammo, checkpoints instead of randomly scattered save points and it needs a whole new legion of enemies and locations, good game dont get me wrong but its style of play and story telling just felt a bit behind the times.

I love how much more realistic the characters look in this compared to past SH games. Not graphics-wise, but how Elle doesn't just stand there like Ashley (in reference to the RE comment) like she's a frozen statue. Elle actually has a "what do I do/ I'm scared" kind of pose where she looks more like an actual human. That in itself makes this game a lot more realistic and terrifying to me just because of that little change in CPU posture. Technology is amazing.

what connects silent hill to this town is a pact or something similar, whereby the founding fathers of SH chose to live outside, once they sacrificed a son each year. Alex was the chosen sacrifice, but josh dies instead. its all on wikipedia.
