  • Im watching this movie in class i remember when the guy used the hot thing on his you know what to do you know what and they ran out with the girl having a burned mouth and the guy with a burned you know what

  • This is a mayan civilization.. just got a research on this.. :)))) but still.. mesoamerica.. before aztecs are mayans

  • Its happened in MesoAmerica or Middle America..present Mexico .. im not sure if this were Mayas.. Aztecs or Incas.. coz I havent watched the full movie yet.. but what i know is Aztecs are known for Human Sacrifice and greatest civilization in MesoAmerica..

  • little hostility going on here... ;)

  • i love this movie even thought i think mel gibson kind of made it seem like ohh the mayans where jerks so that why they deserved to be treated like crap by the spaniards. but i still love that he cover the mayan culture.

  • I watched this 5 times in a row and still was not bored.

  • We need part-II come on Mel - lets get moving~!

  • best film ever

  • One of my FAVORITE movies!!

  • this movie was awsome....

  • This movie was masterpiece

  • can someone tell me..,.,why they want to kill Jaguar Paw family?? Did Jaguar Paw and Flint Sky do wrong things??? i can't watch the part 1...someone plzz.,.,.

  • @ijamhandsome they want to sacrifice them for religious believe they didnt do anything wrong its just the mayans believe the earth needed to be feed by blood. in order for the earth to give to them

  • @JulieRebu07 thank you for the information :)

  • What is the hope of expecting historical accuracy from a film which shows a full moon on the same day as a solar eclipse? Was the entire film crew sleeping all through Astronomy 101?

  • see people,,,and then we talk about the brutality if the spanish.......what would you do if u go somewhere and see all thses ??

  • @philippusII odd comparison- historical fact of Mayan sacrifice is that only warriors captured in actual battle (among few select others) were worthy of the heart removal scene depicted; the Spanish burned people alive after torturing them for days into confession, an estimated 2,000 within the first decade of the Inquisition. Personally, I'd prefer to die by having my heart ripped out with the belief I'd go to live in Mayan heaven than be tortured, burnt alive and then go to hell forever.

  • i'm not saying there were not brutalities commited by the spanish sometimes, but the idea that the mayan or the aztecs ( i was referrring to these) were saints and that live in a paradise world is not true at....about sacrificing people what kind of savage culture is that?..not only the sacrificed but they maintin their kindgom true fear and blood..like most empires, the aztecs were as cruel as anybody else....this idea that the spanish were the bad guys is a complete farse

  • @philippusII bullshit FUCK SPANIARDS

  • that movie was so fucking good

  • so damn cool ! :)

  • me enamore de '' casi'' que indio tan bello

  • in honer of columbus day our teacher had us watch it, i was totally scarred for life from all that violence but what the hay! i learned from the movie as well

  • That is one kick ass teacher.

  • mad film!....harsh!...but a brilliant movie non the less!

  • very strong people, ifelt so sorry for the man and his wife, how bout when christerpher cloumbus and his crew start rolling in lol gamagan1 his wife very strong cause i would have died, she had that baby in the water i was like wtf

  • wow im mexican. i cant believe my ancestors are these brutal blood craving warriors haha whoa XD

  • @josiejss YOUR STUPID TO BELIEVE THAT

  • @illestbreed why is that stupid dumbass? the mayans were faaar more advanced in intelligance compared to even the greeks and romans. fuck off.

  • @josiejss WRONG!!!

  • No me gusta que pinten a los mayas como unos salvajes recolectores-cazadores casi sin civilizacion y desarrapados, no es cierto, los mayas eran la civilizacion mas culta, aristocrata y refinada de mesoamerica.

  • I love this movie and Scarface. You learn a lot from both.

  • i love my culture, well, where i live is origin olmeca, it was since before of the mayas

  • is it pg?

  • so intense,so pure, nothing but realistic.definitely one of my favorite movies

  • This is on the Aztec empire not Maya....it actually happen in the place that is now present day New Mexico

  • is it any good ? what is it about?

  • this one of movie that i like

  • i've seen this movie its brutal man love it though...

i thought they were native american lol

  • They ARE native americans from México, there is no country called America, that´s the name of the continent you fool !! We are americans from Canada to Argentina, got that ??

  • dude, america is a country

  • No, it is not !! The name of your country is United States only. America is a continent not a country.

  • well u can look it up.

  • Gamerzrock

    america is a continent

    north america and south america

countries are united states of america, canada, mexico, brazil, peru, chile etc

do not be confused and do not confuse others

  • Totalmente de acuerdo, las personas que viven en USA se autodenominan Americanos y están muy mal porque el termino americano es para todos los que vivimos en el continente Americanos.

    TODOS SOMOS AMERICA

  • @braven117 Thats what ive been trying to explain these people forever. UNITED=CONNECTED/ STATES=REGION OR TERRITORY/ OF AMERICA=ITS LOCATION. What dont they get.

  • is this movie about the aztecs or mayans...many ppl say the mayan civilization but to me its more like the aztecs due to there sacrifices nd stuff

  • This movie talks about mayan civilization. The public who is not informed about the Mayan culture could go out of the cinema thinking that they were not any more than a few brutal & wild people. But they were great more than it. Gibson commits a mistake on not showed this information in the movie. They were a very advanced civilization, but this movie doesn't even scratch the surface of what this powerful civilization was. Instead of it, it shows what nowadays we call wildness.

  • oh. so true. =] I'm Mayan!!!! XD lol we still live!!...haha. if you didnt know that.... >.> =P srry...I just felt like saying that.

  • mmm in this movie they mixed up many civilizations, they talk aboyt mayans aztecs zapotecas chichimecas..... there are lots of civilizations mixed in this movie....

    a really good movie

  • Excelente tu comentario, los Mayas no eran salvajes como Mel Gibson los puso aquí, es muy buena pelicula pero demasiado violenta y no mostró la grandeza de esta civilización

  • the details and the action scenes are just stunning....top 10 best movies...definitely

  • this movie is the best movie i ever seen[.]Mel Gibson really did it good this time, also with Passion of the christ! its really hard for me to really wanna keep seeing a movie over and over again unless i really like it, and i could see Apocalypto 20 xz and not get tired of it! A+++

  • are their any other indian movies like this, I know of this one where these indians steal a white child from a family near the jungle and raise him and all this other stuff, anyway it was cool the entire movie the indian girls were naked lol just can't remember the name of the movie, tell me if you know

  • The one you name sounds familiar..

Another film i love is "Where the river runs black". It depicts a legend of a missionary priest and a dolphin woman, and the child born from that union, who soon becomes orfan..

  • Does any Latino like this film?

  • I like, in fact the movie is very accurate to the history

  • No shit, why do u care? U gay. Fuckin faggit

Im Mexican American and this movie is a classic

  • Take it easy. It's because some of my Latino friends didn't like it.

  • no this is stupid and boring

  • Gr8 movie just saw it for 3rd time. Of course Gibson was showing us how un noble the natives can be. What we need now, maybe is an African version, then we can lay all this white mans burden to rest.

  • i love this movie)

  • i love this movie)

  • oh yeah I remeber now it was "A civilization cannot be conquered from without, until it has been destroyed from within" - William durrant

  • This movie kept me on my toes. I thought I was running from the Mayans.

  • I don't know correct me if i'm wrong but what is the saying at the start, something like 'a civilization has not bla bla until it has destoyed from within' or something like that

  • i think that the civalization will die unless one sacrifie is made

  • I love this movie!

  • >:[ bad
