But even if you wanna go by the 1939-1945 timeline (not counting the actual 1937 start date), you DO realize that we have already crossed the full 5 year threshold and are working on year 6 right now? The war will be going on by the end of this year so he'd be right again.

You realize the United States didn't start fighting until 7 December, 1941, right? The War ended on 14 August, 1945. That's less than 4 years. The U.S. is now in its 5th year of the Iraq War.
