  • @kellylang28 Thanks. Columbo yes, Charlie's Angels...hmmm...not sure.

  • @MarvellousLie Naughty but nice!

  • That's a beautiful song! The strong yet velvety voice of Phil Wilson must have driven the girls crazy!! Loved it!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • I wish I had that talent! Thanks for dropping by,

  • @cjoey39 Thanks for your kind words ! I have no doubt that the soulful sounds emanating from your blues guitar have had the same effect on those of the opposite sex. - Phill Wilson

  • @PhillWillSing Ha ha ha! That's so funny! I have never played out and the only female that listens to me is my wife. Mostly I hear from her is turn it down the kids are sleeping! Thanks for giving me a listen! I can't wait to check your channel out because you are the real deal! It's nice to be able to meet an accomplished musician with a storied past! Thanks again! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • thank you sir basildebrush i cant believe ive never hward of Phil Wilson befor i'am in my late 50s now and to discover new --- old singers is great

  • @811john Pleased to introduce you to Phill.

  • @811john Thanks for the new title you have bestowed - "new --- old singer". I like that ! Thanks for listening. - Phill Wilson

  • This is SHEEEEER DELIGHT after the past few days I've had to deal with.. Many thanks again!

  • @MSglaserads Thank you - and thanks to Phill Wilson, of course

  • 11xzxzxz Interestingly....Cash Box Music Magazine reviewed my record shortly after its release. An excerpt from that reads "...[this] nice ork-chorus arrangement is a reminder of the sound employed on the years-back Fleetwoods' hit "Come Softly To Me". Guess your ear is as good or better than theirs. Let me know if I can tell you anything else. Phill Wilson

  • @PhillWillSing I have to ask Phill, what's an ork-chorus arrangement?

  • @SirBasildeBrush The ork-chorus arrangement is what the accompaniment singers and instrumentalist put together as the background. Anita played a major role in this, but everyone contributed. "I'll play this an octave higher for a lighter feel." " I'll answer your part with this." "We'll answer Phill's words one measure later." "How about sustained aahhhhs here?" They put it all together and it makes the sound you hear. It's their genius at work. - Phill

  • @PhillWillSing Many thanks, that was an informative answer!

  • Sorry meant PhiLL.

  • @11xzxzxz I'm sure he won't mind....

  • @SirBasildeBrush Thanks

  • Fine song. Never heard of the Phil Wilson but I have heard the the great background music in the Fleetwoods; the music almost sounds as "come Softly to Me" & mimics "i want, want you to kno-o-ow/ I love, I love you so ....." I am not sure if the Fleetwoods had more than 3 top hits but Come Softly to me & Mr Blue & and Tragedy probably make them the best 3 hit wonders of all time. The British Invasion killed them and their covers are so mediocre .. but back to Phil Wilson, research awaits..

  • @11xzxzxz That's Phill with two LLs. You can contact him directly on this page - see PhillWillSing below -.

  • This song truly makes rainbows appear in the middle of the darkest night..in a pouring rain.......=) Thank you Sir......lovely as ever........=)

  • @Marievil68 Moonbows...they do exist. Thank you for your lovely comment.

  • Just got one......your lovely comment....thank you Sir...=))

  • KKL281 : Thanks ! Like Sir B, I'm a little fond of it, too. - Phill Wilson

  • Very very nice.

    Enjoyed it very much.

    Thanks my friend.

  • @KKL281 Thanks, I'm rather fond of this one.

  • what a nice song

  • I remember this song from Elvis G.I Blues & I always like the film soundtrack with Julie Prowes singing with Elvis than the LP version.

I like Phill Wilson version better than Elvis soundtrack & wished I had heard this on the Radio but like most DJ'S they never play this version.

  • @dardingz. Thanks for the comment, pleased you like this so much. You know, of course, that this song isn't related to Elvis' "Pocket Full of Rainbows" from the film, and Phill WiIson has told me he wrote this before he ever heard that song. But, I also get them mixed up these days - I tried singing 'Pocket...' a few days ago, and this came out!

  • Never heard that song until this morning. I do remember the era though, and songs like that take me back to my childhood. The video also reminds me of my first trip to Italy in the summer of '61.

  • I guess it's the vineyard!

  • ronni1991: Thanks for the compliment. I had some very talented people in the recording session, especially Anita Kerr. Much of the credit goes to all of them. - Phill

  • ronni1991: So glad you liked "Rainbow" . If you happened to see the Grammy Awards, you saw Harold Bradley, who played bass for me on the record, receive the Trustees Life Achievement Award. I was so pleased with his well deserved recognition. - Phill Wilson

  • oh my god are you the guy who sings this... then i must say your GREAT

  • oooh what an amazing song.... this one is now one of my best favorite....

  • I felt the same when I first heard it (the same day I posted it !).

  • Loved it. All the best for 2010.

  • Thanks, and to you.

  • Sir B: Hope you had a Merry Christmas and that the New Year holds nothing but good things for you. Sent you some info on Anita and the session via E-mail. - Phill

  • Hi Phill. Yes, a great christmas thank you. Hope the same for you. Thanks also for the e-mail, my sincere apologies I didn't spot it sooner. I'll be replying via e-mail.

  • Merry Christmas and a healthy 2010 to you and yours,Sir Basil. Peace and happiness always.

  • @frightfan1 Hey thanks. All the best of the season to you.

  • This song is so beautiful - love the French horns also! Thanks Basil!

  • Thanks, one of my very favourite postings.

  • I love the picture too! Have a great weekend!

  • I had to fight for the French Horn. Producers wanted a guitar. Singer Michael Halliday did a cover in the UK using a flute....gave it a nice lilt. Glad you liked the French Horn. - Phill Wilson

  • Welcome back Phill. The song is just perfect as is! Didn't know about the Halliday cover, need to track that one down.

  • Hi Phil - French Horns get me every time. Thanks for fighting for the French Horns! Thank you for such a nice song that makes me so happy! Thanks again for posting this song Basil!

  • Phill Wilson also recorder songs 'One Love' and 'Susan'. I beleive that both of these were written by Phill also. Thanks Phill for fifty-two years of friendship.

  • Many thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye (and ear) out for those songs.

  • I was surprised - and honored - to hear my voice and my words coming out of the mouth of one of our greatest intertainers. Outstanding job on the video. Well done ! - Phill Wilson

  • Phill, truly honoured to have you comment on this. Love the song, beautifully sung, one of my favourite posts - it's the video that greets you on my channel homepage. Pleased you didn't take offence at the video!
