i bought this about a year ago,and the usb plug stopped working so i bought another cooling pad, the same kind, they work well but i figures since one of them does not work i would try to splice a new end on the broken one and can not figure out why there are only 2 wires a red 1 and a white 1 when i need a green and black wire also and i do not know how to wire 2 ends to 4 ends can someone tell me how to do this?
Piece of shit design it why, its designed for comfort + easy build i would say one that curves in and adds a space between the computer and the cooling pad even on this would help tremendously, instead of a flat surface like this
Such a overpriced shit. When i firmly tried to change the position of the fans by removing the grid the plastic cracked, it went straight to the trashbin. When i buy a technical item i expect it will be able to asemble for exampel ro clean the fans, but the shitty plastic thing just cracked thogh i used a gentle hand removing the grid who was bolted from the inside, making it impossible to take apart couse its bolted from the inside, not with screws that normal designer would choose to use.
Bought this yesterday and I must say I'm fairly impressed with this notebook cooler. Im running at 64 degrees Celsius at the moment.. without it, it would hover around the 72-75 area.
BTW, I'm using an HP G62, so it doesn't entirely cool my laptop . It's still fairly warm on my left wrist (harddrive bay). But other than that drawback, it's still worth the buy.
I would like to update my comment. DO NOT GET A TARGUS LAPTOP FAN!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE FANS!!! I've been threw $80 and THREE fans! the fans explode and don't work anymore. STAY AWAY FROM THESE... DON'T BUY THESE!
@dustymew woah. You must have terrible luck. I've had mine for about a year, and I haven't had any problems. After a couple months my laptop started heating up again, but that was because I hadn't dusted the fans (neither my laptop fans, nor the targus fans). Once I cleaned things up, it was back to being efficient.
I have the chill mat, but it doesn't "chill" my laptop, it doesn't even keep it from heating up from a cold start. Its the USB fans, they are NOT powerful enough!

@dustymew tell me about it. i just got mine and replaced my old cooler which was the belkin laptop cooler pad.. and i went through 2 of them (the blades kept coming off.. and when i turned my laptop on.. i was like is the fan on? and i felt the fan and was really surprised lol

I like this one. It's also cheap. The design is good too. I always use my laptop when I'm in my bed.

@warlock923 Try vacuuming the back fans on the computer, that work on my Compaq Presario way better than the "chill mat"

I have this mat and it is very good. A little pricey for 40 dollars but very worth it
